    The best explanation of magic loop that I've seen so far.

    I just found your channel and I've subscribed. I got the magic loop because I'm trying to learn socks but I could not figure that out for the life of me. This video makes it very clear now I can understand at least for the next 5 minutes after that I'm probably going to have to keep coming back to the video. On another topic, thank you for not doing so much background talking and spending half of the video talking about other things that have not too much to do with the topic. I seem to find that in about 3/4 of the videos that I watch no matter what their topic is take some forever to get to the topic thank you you're very refreshing

    I'd planned to set aside time tonight to finally learn ML, opened TH-cam and this came up. How did you know?!

    I took a class at a LYS (sadly, long gone) on knitting socks with magic loop and never looked back. I still have dpns, but I rarely used them for anything other than amigurumi, or very narrow projects. I love magic loop!

    Because I am too clumsy to manage DPNs, I started playing with a circular needle and, about 6 months ago, I taught myself the magic loop method in order to make my first pair of socks. I had no idea that magic loop was an actual thing until about 3 months ago. (No wonder there’s a popular saying that, “Necessity is the mother of invention”.) 🙄😀 I’m now knitting more than ever and magic loop is my preferred method for pretty much everything.

    Thank you for your clear explanation of magic loop. You mentioned that there is a different way doing sock. I am knitting mittens. Does that apply to mittens as well? If so, do you have a tutorial on it? Thanks!

    So Glad I watched your magic loop video! I took a class a few years ago and completed a hat top down. I was very excited that I learned the technique, but haven't practiced and I've lost it. I should have watched this before I cast on to 3 dpns last week BUT all is well, I have you saved for reference for next time 😀
    Thank you, Kristin. I Love your channel!

    Love magic loop. I've never looked back since learning. Just today I started knitting Christmas balls and it's a 12 stitch cast on. A nightmare on DPNs so I used ML for the first few rounds. I knit my socks using ML but always interested to watch someone else as there's usually a good tip or two.

    I have learned how to knit and I loved this tutorial. I love how you are knitting and not looking at what you're doing👌🏾 thanks for sharing this. I am saving this to my playlist for future references. My knitting is slow but I know with practice I will get better.

      Yay!! Congrats on learning to knit, Deirdre! So glad you found the tutorial helpful 🤗 The more you knit, the more your muscle memory will build and you'll find that you won't have to look at what your hands are doing. It's pretty magical! 😄

      @@Voolenvine Yes knitting is magical☺... I am a crocheter. It's kind of hard to believe I had a hard time with crocheting years and years ago. But now I have mastered the art of crochet. I will do the same with knitting💪🏾.

    Yes, help with heel with magic loop. I don't think I have ever done it right, and it has been luck of the draw, somehow. Help will be appreciated. If I knew for sure, I wouldn't worry about it all the way down the cuff until that moment.

    I have a sock pattern that calls for use of 3 DPN’s , is there an easy way to convert this pattern and use the magic loop / circular needle? Your videos on the knitting socks and the magic loop were so easy to follow that I would like to try my pattern using your suggested knitting tools.

    hello. i’m new to both knitting and magic loop technique. i’m knitting a spiral legwarmer pattern. it states to move stitch marker to the left after for spiral rows. if my needles are facing to the right, can you describe where i might move the SM?
    thank you for your time.

    I've never used 2 needles for ML, maybe that's why I've never enjoyed it. For socks, I love DPN's but for sleeves and colour work it's so hard to keep tension. I'll have to try this.

    I get ladders when I magic loop. I would definitely love to see how the heel is done with magic loop. I hate seeing those ladders though😕

    • @Voolenvine
      @Voolenvine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Patricia! When magic looping and DPNing, I always firm up my tension a bit when knitting the first few stitches from each needle. That usually takes care of the ladders :)

    Thank you it is harder than it looks , my work turns inside out on the 1st round lol

    • @violashook
      @violashook 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My sock (toe) tends to turn inside out also while using magic loop. I found it necessary to remember that you not only "work with the back needle" , but also it should be the one where the working yarn is on (that you pull to use).
