  • The Great Smoky Mountains is the most visited national park in the U.S. and for good reason! Entrance is free, and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are nothing short of spectacular. Back in 2020, this was one of our first stops on our one-year U.S.A. road trip, and two years later, we’ve decided to return to the park for some much-needed time in the great outdoors. Join us as we go back down memory lane and allow the rugged trails and foggy mountains of the Smokies rejuvenate our physical and mental health. 🌲
Follow along to see where we head next. 🥰

The amount of effort it took to make this camping trip happen was WILD! 😮‍💨 But, we’re so happy that we kept pushing for it to happen, because it was such a positive trip for both our physical and mental health. ⛺ It was crazy being back there two years later, and while the mountains hadn’t really changed much, we had grown and changed tremendously as people. What a joy it was to experience the Smokies again through a new set of eyes. 🌲
As mentioned at the end of the video, we are heading to a CITY in the mountains next to continue on with our wellness series, and of course, as I always have, I’ve created a new travel-inspired artwork series (inspired by the Appalachian mountains and the U.S. woodlands) that will be live in my little art shop TOMORROW (Sunday, November 20, 2022)!!! 🎨 You know where to go! chadandclaire.com/shop 🧺
We would also like to say a huge thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all the kindness and support we’ve received from you all this past week. 🤍 From thoughtful messages and emails, to the surprise packages in our P.O. Box, you all have shown us nothing but light and positivity. 💌 We are so grateful for each and every one of you, so thank you (yes, YOU!!! 🌟) for giving us your time each week and watching our videos!
    Until next Saturday, friends-
    Claire (and Chad) 🥰

Glad to see you both taking adventures back here in America. Overseas travel is amazing but not realistic for most of us. Your trips here give us a better idea of what we can all do on a tight budget. Thank you for your videos.

I love reading physical books and have a huge library. I agree that losing yourself in a book is wonderful for your mental health. Watching your videos is also brilliant for my mental health. ❤

I loved everything that I have seen of Tennessee, especially the Smoky Mountains. Claire, the reason why the potatoes in your Quinoa soup were not like the soup you had in Peru is because the Peruvian soup had yucca instead of a regular potato. The yucca root is firmer than a potato and it has a chewy texture. Other than that, your soup looked delicious. Chad, that tent that you reclaimed from your college days was a remarkable save!

You two are so cute! I remember driving through the Smokey mountains back in the 80s with my hubby listening to Ronnie Milsap sing Smokey Mountain rain and it was raining and it was so magical !

Bears 🐻 can smell food up to 2 miles away including through walls 🧱...
In a tent has me nervous already with the amount of 🐻 and coyotes 🐺 in the area

Claire...you should write some of the things you say down... like the contrasting, sharpness when wet

    Wonderful camping adventure!
The fog rolling off the mountains is so beautiful and mystical. Love Claire cooking in the back of the CRV…that’s ingenuity!
Yes, reading is a wonderful way to decompress and relax the mind. I love it too!
Looking forward to the next video.❤

Fresh air and the great outdoor renew one's spirit. My son was at a low point 10 years ago. He decided to hike The Appalachian Trail from GA to ME. He witnessed "The Beautiful Country" and encountered countless beautiful and helpful people. The experience gave him a broader perspective.

When did you go that way?
Our 1st time in TN was November 9th-13th in the Smokeys... were you guys there then? It rained on us almost the whole time too, but it was awesome

Nice to see you both forest bathing and enjoying the Great Smokey Mountains, accepting rain and clouds as part of the atmospheric wonder. Your soup looked so delicious too. We had a soup fail last night... butternut squash soup that we can now use as pottery clay instead 😋. Got your card yesterday... first one of the season... wonderful! Peace!

Yay! So happy it arrived safely and since we are the first ones, perhaps we can get a prime spot on the fridge. :D Butternut squash pottery clay.. Never heard that one before haha.

So happy for you guys! Enjoy your peace and rest! ❤
Would it be helpful “space saving” to go shop for a book when you get overseas?? Then you’d only have to save space for it on your return trip. Could even have fun discovering some foreign authors! May have to seek out English translations on occasion or just find books already written for English speaking audiences. Could be an amazing adventure! Lol 🥰 Just a thought! 🤷🏽‍♀️

New here, Great content. But one note of advice. You should always buy wood where you camp to avoid invasive species entering the geological area.

is your camping mat a twin size or full size? any link to the product? Thanks!

    • @ChadandClaire
      @ChadandClaire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey Einee! The mat we used was actually a twin size mattress topper and sadly I don't have a link to the product. It was certainly much bigger than other alternatives out there, but we used it because we had it laying around.
