I am currently turning an M997A2 into a camper as well. Doing a roof raise and all. Great looking rig there .

Between the M997A2 and A3 I've driven over 50,000 miles in FLAs. That may not sound like much but you rarely see one of these with over 15,000 miles, they spend most of their working lives off-road. So I have an idea of things you need to look out for.
    1. Where the patient box meets the windshield frame, it's only held in place with small rivets and caulk. The caulk gets brittle and the rivets break, find a better way to secure them together or they will drive you crazy rattling around. Not to mention the dust and rain that will find its way in.
    2. The patient compartment door hinges like to rust and the flimsy brackets will bend and the doors won't close properly so keep them well lubricated. Do the same with the locking mechanism.
    3. It will rain in the patient compartment. I don't mean it leaks when it rains (though some do), through condensation of the moisture on your breath and perspiration it will actually rain. You'll need to either use A/C or a dehumidifier in humid weather. Unfortunately a fan and air circulation isn't enough so you may have to deal with some mold.
I would mention that the diesel heater is great but you removed the control panel for it already... Oh and you really need to look into turbocharging this. From memory the NA diesel you have is rated for 140hp and low 200ft/lbs for torque. With a driver and passenger you will struggle maintaining 55mph going up a slight hill and never go above 65. Carrying some weight your top speed will be 50 and below.

I’ve been wanting to Raptor Line my Jeep white, but I’ve been concerned about it yellowing from the sun… I did my previous Jeep in OD green….

I wanted to do this for so long with my M998, but couldn’t find any good ambulance tops for less than 5K-ended up buying an M1102 with an S250 G communication shelter in the back of it

I love your videos. I watched every one of them. A few questions: 1. Could you share the link of the skylight? 2. I bought 5 Humvees. Town of them were ambulances M997A2. None came with rear doors and folding steps. And no luck finding them. Do you have any suggestions on making them?

@@ndexpo thanks! I got the skylight from camping world ( RV Skylight SL1864S - Smoke). And yeah, for the back doors, I heard they are all being removed now from the government since it’s Kevlar. Mine was bought by the SWAT team before I bought it so the government kept the doors on it and gave me a street legal title.
