- In this weeks video I’m going to be decluttering my laundry room and giving it a much needed deep clean. I’m going to be moving the washing machine and dryer out so I can clean the filthy area behind and under them really good.
And I’m excited to continue Decluttering and getting rid of items in my house that we aren’t using.

My parents moved in with me and my husband in 2021. They sold their house and moved everything to my house. My 2 1/2 garage was packed and several items and boxes went into my storage area downstairs. It took me a year to clean out garage. Little my little going through storage area in basement. Yesterday I started going through plastic containers of their paperwork - organizing and shredding. Today will finish. It's a good feeling. Clutter drives me crazy.
We are cleaning a large hoarded house after my mother-in-law passed away. I am finding a lot of papers, documents and other things from the 70, 60 and even 50s!!! I cannot believe how much money had been spent without a good reason. So much of expired food. So many clothes. So many of everything that is filthy, dusty, ruined. Plus I found a lot of fantastic children’s books that she never has shown to her grandsons. I promise, I will never do this to my sons. I will not leave a hoard for them to clean after me. My memories are mine, and I will let them create their own memories and traditions and I will not force my collections onto them.

Hi! Came here from Reno’s channel. We have a magnetic door stop in our laundry room. It keeps the door wide open which is nice when going in/out of the narrow space. We can still close the door if we need to, but keeps it more out of the way most of the time.
Oh what a great idea! I never shut my laundry. I just leave it open so it’s easy access in and out for all of us ❤️

Love your videos! You inspire me so much. Living in FL and in a house built in 1955, the washer/dryer are both in the garage. Concrete block and garage was never finished back in 50’s. My Kenmore dryer is 40 years old. My washer is 26 years old. You are correct, the older machines were made to last! My appliance repair guy was out to repair a minor part on washer - total for labor/part was $40. He said don’t ever get rid of dryer/washer because those older models can be repaired and is not too expensive but the newer models with computer boards are super expensive and normally cheaper to trash and buy new machine than repair. You are a joy to watch!❤
Oh Catherine that is incredible!! Yes I’ve had repair men out and it was going to cost more to repair the machine then by a new one. They make them so you can’t fix them 🤦♀️

Jodie you are great to move the washer and dryer, I’d be too nervous I’d pull out some hose or lead. Maybe if you look on TH-cam how to get the plastic wires back into the bee suit? My husband and I have 4 laundry baskets in the trunk of our car. They are 2 stacked together. We use them when we go shopping so instead of carrying multiple bags at one time we put the bags in the laundry baskets. We try to equalize the weight per laundry basket and if needed use the other when lots of bags.

With the washing baskets the angle you are doing them won’t make it easy. Try having them lower possible on the floor the height helps. They’ll get easier over time too.

I love Remi. She has the most grateful heart. Had to giggle watching you pretzel yourself behind the washer/dryer. Been there done that and at my age it isn't easy. haha But hubby and I are about to tackle a closet/laundry room reno...so i'll get to it then. I dread it. You have gotten to be the Boss at decluttering! Give the collapsible laundry baskets a bit...they will loosen up the more you use them. My sister likes hers, but i'm still old schooling it. I use wire ones. 😉😊

I just discovered Earth Breeze laundry detergent sheets! They work fantastic and are stored in an 8x10 envelope then I use Bounce fabric softener. My laundry room shelf used to be filled with large plastic jugs of Tide. They were messy and heavy. Now I have so much room left and it’s good for the earth without all that plastic in the landfills!

We switched to pods probably a year ago. Way less mess, not heavy and I like them so much better than using liquid. Plus I coupon for my laundry detergent and haven’t paid for it in years so that’s the best part ❤️
Hi we are currently decorating our hallway, stairs and landing, it has been an arduous task between working and running a home generally , a labour of love I would say, my partner is a joiner ( USA carpenter) and he is in the process of making me a bespoke radiator cover for the top of the stairs, super excited 😂😊

Jodi, I reorganized my craft area. I crochet constantly so I have a lot of yarn. I have been working through using my yarn stash instead of buying more this year. I’m also making items to sell at a market this summer. Great job on the laundry room!
That’s awesome Joyce! My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was younger. I wish I would have kept going. Can’t remember how to do any of it now 😂

Great job Jodi! I can relate to shimmying the appliances to access the filth. Nice that they are on your main floor although I always coveted having a basement to have them in. Mine are in my kitchen but now that I am old I’m glad I don’t have to maneuver stairs. I am afraid to move the stove because it is also gas. I can clean under it ok because of how it is built but the sides I clean with long brushes and I haven’t painted beyond where I could reach and that was when I was able bodied!😃I really love all the space you have in your home. I also love Remi. Thank you for this video.🙂

Kudos to you and Reminded for giving shout outs. Now I want to go clean in the laundry room, ours has cleaning products on wire shelves so you KNOW that is a dust trap 😩
Idk if you do this, but store sell washer machine cleaning tabs that help with inside build up. I personally fill the washer with water, pause the wash, put a cup of vinegar in it, and scrub the inside with a hard brush. While I’m doing that the vinegar is eating way at the clogged holes. Put the wash cycle back on and it’s good to go. The first time I used vinegar I had to wipe up the bottom bc so much junk came out 😳
Cathryn I’ve actually never tried those tablets for cleaning out the washer. I’m like you I use vinegar. It’s cheap and it works 😂
I love Remi! I love that she just talks with us while going about her stuff. Just like you! As a matter of fact I have tried the paintbrush trick for washing window tracks and have never cleaned them any other way since. The idea came from your channel.

I'm some valentines deco. I also got new lamps, which I ordered in the wrong color and it cost to much to send back so I had a can of black spray paint and that did the trick. Cost $45 to send back $12 for spray paint. I'm so happy. Love your channel.

Love your channel. I, too, clean in short periods of time because I have arthritis and can’t stand for long. Took one big box of clothes to donation. Still have the other half of the extra clothes closet and off season clothes closet which is from the third bedroom which is now an office. My husband hangs some of his clothes in the second bedroom and I use the master closet for my current clothes.
Great job, Jodi. I watch Remi as well. I have a collapsible basket, and I flip it over and step on it to collapse it as well as stepping in it and pulling up on the handles to open😂

I had the same issue with two blankets I bought at Target. I had red fuzz everywhere. I was really frustrated because they were so soft to begin with. So they went back. I’m still finding fluff occasionally. 😫 I’m continuing to purge and declutter a little bit every day. It feels good to see the changes.

I was thinking while you said that room gets so dusty maybe could you fit the Keurig and extra spatulas in your dining room hutch cabinets? Might keep them cleaner and give you back space in the closets. I cannot wait for future videos with the bee suit 🐝
Haylee I wish they would fit in there since I just created all that space in my hutch. But unfortunately it had a top shelf inside so nothing of much height will fit.

Hi just watching your video on cleaning, I like laundry videos and shopping hauls, I am from London UK, I moved from Essex to London because brought back memories of my late husband, So sold my house, and I new somebody that lived in Bromley Kent so I moved there, I have no children but I have a friend that lives with me, and keeps me company he is from Texas,
I just replaced my washer & dryer in November. I had them for 11 year's so I can't complain. I also had to replace my refrigerator too .still working on decluttering & doing house projects 😊

Great video! I have watched Remi for quite awhile, love her! I have front loaders and my husband built a platform for them so I can’t clean behind them unless he pulls them off the platform 🙁so that only happens if we have a problem, which we did lately so I got to clean it😊. Dryer lint is the worst. I'm impressed with your moving and climbing behind the machines to clean. Huge improvement! The winter coats take up so much room. Find I'm always wishing for an extra foot of space.

Oh my goodness I have to do my laundry also and i mean soon because i have a new washer coming on the 7th of February but I am still working on my clothes and closet. It has taken me alot longer than I thought. I have never seen so many clothes. So far donations have been 10 bags (50 gallon) and im only about a third of the way done. But you keep me motivated so thank you so much.

Hi Jodi, I bought a tool from Amazon that I can attach to my battery operated drill to clean my entire dryer vent from the outside. It has extentions to make it as long as needed. My vent was so clogged up from lint, I think that is why the dryer I had before quit, but it's the reason a lot of homes catch on fire too. I love watching your channel! Love your personality. Thanks for sharing your home and familyand life. . P.s. I bought the photo storage that you bought after watching your video. Love them. Still decluttering, painting and cleaning room by room. We have had the same GE washer for 16 years. Hubby fixed the O ring 3 years ago and that’s been it so far. Very happy with how long it has lasted thus far

I decluttered some puzzles, I took them to the bus stop and put on bench. and I'm working on a christmas deer diamond painting for next year. 😆 it will take a year to get to ikea for frame.

Hi Jodi, I was watching you and was thinking that when I'm cleaning a little room in my house I realize its not so big until I start cleaning the skirting boards. Heck the go on for ever. My washing machine is in my kitchen and cleaning behind it is a nightmare, you have given me the umph to clean behind it. I think its been about 5 years since I cleaned it, so as its my day fir the kitchen tomorrow I really need to clean there.
