Well got my Gaslow system now just waiting for some warm weather to fit it also bought the adaptors for the various countries, thanks again for the very informative video
Hi good blog we have 2 11kgs gaslow on our bessacarr 494 it’s brilliant we love it and so much cheaper then exchanging normal bottles what I like about your videos is you are getting out there and using your MH and having fun brilliant 👍👍👍 glen & jackie
I was just about to ask about the long screws before you came to filling as I saw this in another vid. What exactly did you do wrong with the screws and how do you avoid it please? I ask as I am about to fit gaslow system.
Mr WB was correct the Gaslow instructions do show the filler being fixed with the screws from the inside,, and they provide different lengths of screws to ensure they don't protrude into the filler socket, must admit I was unsure when fitting mine, and ended up trimming the screws to length, did not realise you could fit them the other way around. As You and Hannah say, all instructions should allow for faffing time, especially cook books.
I'll be honest, there is a high chance that we still haven't done it exactly as Gaslow intended... but it's secure and hasn't moved in over 10,000 miles, so we're not messing with it now! :) Faffing is part of the fun!
We love our Gaslow system and the savings are amazing it soon pays for itself. We can only fit 6kg bottles in our locker unfortunately so I am trying to convince Lindsay to let me fit an underslung tank :-)
Does it matter which side you have the filling point regarding using the pump at fuel stations or do the pumps have relly long hoses to reach around the motorhome? Our gas locker is on the drivers side (UK). Really useful video, Thanks
Did you use the van regulator or the Gaslow one they supply?, we’ve just got a direct fill bottle with a red regulator and don’t know wether to swap it or not.
The worst thing I found with the refillable system the first time I used mine was when you disconnected the filler, was that loud wosh release of gas. They are great bits of kit.
Good video covering the installation, but you don’t mention the need to purge the air out of the new gas bottles before the first fill. This will prevent the gas mixing with air creating an explosive mixture….can be very dangerous. In fact, none of the video’s on youtube mention this important point.
Thats great and you make look so easy all ready looking for kit to change my motorhome over as Europe is on the cards for this year. Can you fill this up this country as well and are they available in all petrol stations.
Awesome- you'll love touring Europe. Yes, you can fill up in UK, but no- not all petrol stations have them. We tend to find them in Shell, although others have them too. Near big routes is your best bet.
Afraid we cheated, having just bought a new van I had the dealer fit the gaslow system (we have only done 300mls up to now and the dealer filled them for us, so we have the joys of filling them sometime in the future). We have two 11kgs bottles and the filler has been installed in the door of the locker, rather than the side of the van. During the process of fitting your bottles your van appears to have had a transformation from mainly white to blue 😯. Does your van have a self levelling system installed ? on a few of the shots you can see what looks like a shiny piston leg.
Ah sorry- when we installed the Gaslow it was before our trip to Norway (when van was white.) We had it wrapped just before we went, so bottom is now blue! And yep, we had MAVE legs fitted- expensive but BRILLIANT. Doing a review video on them very soon!
Wow checked out price of ma-ve and at £4500 big investment. Our van has a MTPL of 4500kgs and we have not had the opportunity to put it on a weigh bridge yet, with the bikes on the back (pedal power 😒 not Triumphs😎) and fully loaded for a long trip. We only collected it in October and have put it on SORN until April, our weigh bridge is only 3mls away and only costs £3, then we will find out if we can absorb the additional weight of the system you have. Thanks for the reply.
Looking forward to it. On another point the truck looks great with the wrap, not thinking of having it done on our new truck but, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in a video of that. It has totally transformed your motorhome and looks a lot more fresh and modern 👍.
Great films, enjoy content but could I please ask that you put your info up for a little bit longer, sometimes it's gone before I finish reading it. Sorry if it sounds like a complaint. Keep up the good work. Thanks Harry
😂😂So true! In his defence, he cleared it all away really quickly and it was spotless when we left. But I think the 'faffing time' is increasing with age!! 😂😂😬Also allow for them being impatient and starting while you're in the shower!!
Brilliant job. Top vid.
Especially as I put a deposit on my 1st wagon today.
Picking it up tomoz.
Thank you.
Couldn't imagine not having our Gaslow system, brilliant!
Yep, we love it! Fitted it to our new one straight away!
I'm just glad you pointed out the "faffing time", previously I had no excuse for overunning on my estimated times to Mrs M 🙂

You're very welcome! Let me know how the fitting goes! :)
Can you tell me when filling up the gaslow system, do you have to turn /open value on the bottle itself, love your vids xx
@@angelahenderson5725I have a Gaslow system and can fill mine without turning the bottle itself on. Did it yesterday, so it's fresh in my mind !
Thank you . Excellent guide 👍
I had the same feeling when I changed to Safefill! Massive savings with refillables!

Thank you Glen & Jackie. So pleased you enjoy the videos. Maybe see you on the road somewhere!
Hi,
Great video. Just wondering if some ptfe tape should have been used on the threads?
i just saw this video . i bought a gaslow bottle and i wonder what kind of hose do you use for filling the local bottle?
I was just about to ask about the long screws before you came to filling as I saw this in another vid. What exactly did you do wrong with the screws and how do you avoid it please? I ask as I am about to fit gaslow system.

We looked into one of those too, but with our bionic legs we don't have a lot of space where it could safely go. But I agree, it's brilliant value.
Does it matter which side you have the filling point regarding using the pump at fuel stations or do the pumps have relly long hoses to reach around the motorhome? Our gas locker is on the drivers side (UK). Really useful video, Thanks
Nope, doesn't matter at all. Most fuel stations have the pump in the middle so it can go to either side.
what make/type of gas regulator is that your using?
Did you use the van regulator or the Gaslow one they supply?, we’ve just got a direct fill bottle with a red regulator and don’t know wether to swap it or not.
Interesting Vid, I would consider doing this but we are changing MH and our new MH has a 25 L under slung gas tank as a standard factory fit. 👍
Nice! Never heard of it being a standard addition before. Which MH??
Nice one guys! I fancy them now! Cheers Oliver
You definitely won't regret it :)
I would have tested the connection (before screwing it to the van) by spraying some fairy liquid or equiv on it to ensure no leaks.
That sounded negative - great vlogs incidentally and I just purchased the guide to europe and the map guide thingy for £23.00 odds. Good reading!
The worst thing I found with the refillable system the first time I used mine was when you disconnected the filler, was that loud wosh release of gas.
They are great bits of kit.
I know- it's a bit worrying first few times!! But yes, they are very good.

another great Vlog well done Mr WB
He says thank you! :)
Love the Vlog guys.
Thank you!

HUGE investment. We're still evaluating if it's worth it or not- video on that coming soon!

Will do! It's been mentioned before, so I've tried to improve that in more recent videos. Glad you enjoyed it.
PAUSE VIDEO
Great informative video 👍
Glad you found it useful
So you can't put more than 80% into the tank?
You can, but it’s not advised. The fear is overfilling which can cause gas leaks.
@@WanderingBird does the pump auto cut off?
It's supposed to, but we always watch it to be sure- overfilling can be dangerous.
morrisons Littlehampton has lpg fill point just so you know
An 11kg gaslow refillable bottle filled to capacity 80%= 20 litres.
That's really interesting 👍 I've taken 2 important points from this. Men really are mucky pups, and you must allow for appropriate 'faffing' time. 😂💕
😂😂So true! In his defence, he cleared it all away really quickly and it was spotless when we left. But I think the 'faffing time' is increasing with age!! 😂😂😬Also allow for them being impatient and starting while you're in the shower!!
hahahahaha 😂
Nice dent
much easier if you fit to door
Keith Jefferies gaslow specifically state not to attach the filler to the door.
