Really interesting vlog. We have a refillable Safefill bottle in our caravan and we do struggle to find filling stations in East Anglia. Having said that, we recently downloaded the My LPG app and that has made things easier. Loved the character acting, how do we nominate you for an Oscar? 😁😁
Oscar will be the next target after gazillionaire 😂🏆 Never used Safefill cylinders, do they have an external filler point? Some forecourts won’t allow anything that has to be removed from vehicle, have a direct connection to cylinder or even have to open a door to get to it, in particularly abroad. I think that’s a lack of education as they think they are Calor. Thanks for watching 👀 A, J & 🐶
I'm wondering if the savings are offset by needing to replace your laptop keys?! 🤣 Brilliant acting by the way - I put you on pause to get the popcorn! I think in this vlog, Jane gets the lion's share of the gazillions for coming up with that impressive spreadsheet! It was excellent to have actual figures instead of just knowing you're saving money. We have a slightly different system for the gas in our van - we bought two Safefill 11kg bottles and fill those with propane, either at a petrol station in situ or take one of them out, pop it in the car and get it filled at a dealer near us. It's made from plastic so it's very light. We ended up with this because we were trying to keep the weight down, but it's turned out to be an amazing solution to avoiding calor and no conversion or fitting charge to do it. Boom! As you would say 😂😂

Love the way you guys put things over in an amusing way, brilliant. One other thing you didn't mention during your video is the weight of calor bottles. I'm disabled and my wife shouldn't have to lug calor heavy bottles about. Therefore the advantage for use of filling without lifting is enough to persuade a lot of people to gaslow and the like.

Cost saving for me is the convenience of not lugging bottles in and out of the motorhome, plus much more convenient on the continent. Handy if the system is already installed in the motorhome. I have had one 11kg refillable with one 11kg exchangable which was a good compromise and gave flexibility. Enjoyed the dogs comic comments too ! I fill up at the one in Burnley you mentioned, it helps to have the gas point on the same side as the driver.

I converted our MoHo to a refillable Gasit setup. Not long before the conversion I’d exchanged a 6Kg Calor propane bottle it cost £28. The first time I filled the two Gasit 11Kg bottles it cost just over £26 for 22Kg of gas. Quite a saving £26 for 22Kg equals £1-18 per kilo £28 for a Calor 6Kg equals £4-66 per kilo four times the price. The Gasit bottles, pipes and fittings cost aound £350, I installed it myself, then got a friend who is a Corgie registered gas engineer to inspect my installation, so there was no labour charge. The cost of fitting the Gasit system has more than been saved. Plus I don’t have to hand gas back to Calor due to a not completely empty bottle being handed back to Calor, and I have no problems when going over to Europe, I can just top up using an adapter.
