I'm going to have to try the car show GoPro. I get enough comments, good and bad, about my LS swapped 70 Chevelle and it would be neat to hear what people say when I'm not near the car. Usually it's "He put ALL the money in the drive train" or "Should have done a Big Block". Basically a Solid body with a 30 year old Maaco paintjob over shoddy dent repair (cracking bondo) sitting on top of a freshly done frame and new drivetrain. LoL

The essence of hot-rodding, using what you have! Great stuff!!!!
I get similar reactions to my 2JZ swapped Studebaker. The young are curious since they don't know what it is, but once I say 2JZ they are all on board! The old are happy to see a car they forgot about back on the road but are sometimes puzzled about the Japanese engine under hood. I have gotten a few purists who call it a rice rocket, but honestly the @JZ was the best choice. My Lark is originally a 6-cylinder car, and I wanted to get it back to being an inline 6 but with the exception of the GM Atlas, all American inlines are pretty much heavy, tractor based lumps. The Barra is too big and not nearly as easy to procure being non-US market. For $200 from a PnP yard, I have what is arguably the most iconic and reliable inline 6 ever made. It rebuilt easily, makes 3 times the power of the original flathead and now a car I've lugged around for MY ENTIRE LIFE, is back on the road making me and others smile!

That's one of the best things about car shows; especially when you're young - trying to flex what you think you know. It's all hilarious, and even people who know their stuff get caught in that talk. Thanks for that little clip at the end Fin; we all start not knowing much of anything.

I think you've created a true piece of automotive art. Its art because its thought provoking and has people second guessing themselves. It gives the automotive design team behind fury road a run for their money.

I am a car guy but from the 50’s & 60’s,I am not afraid to ask just what is a 2JZ? Also what is 2JZ out of? I went thru a shit load of the comments & didn’t see anyone ask the basic question? What is it? Your “55” is more my love!

You have a cool car. Been a fan of you & frieberger since you guys built nascarlo. You guys inspired me to pick up wrenches after a long time of "F working on stuff!" due some bad experiences with the Army and local city jobs. Keep up the good work. I need to order one of your shirts when i get paid.

Totally worth any comment not approving, I’m a muscle car guy, and I’m bored with the same old stuff, plus kids are into imports more than ever , so you get a bigger audience. Paint a rising sun on the hood in red, dare you

For sure. Sometimes gets old seeing the same stuff all the time. Like how there will be a line of ‘32 hot rods that all have a 350 Chevy.
I really like watching builds from places like Australia because they commonly use “oddball” engines since they don’t always have the cheap and easy access to stuff like we do in the states.

It seems like it may have been better overall to just permanently extend the pipe to the "new" length and put the flapper atop that. But, it's your car and not mine, so you do as you please! It WAS funny watching all those people thinking it was a Cummins diesel! And the tetanus jokes!

Many many years ago just to get down the road my broke ass friends and I put together some crazy junkyard rides . It always surprised me when a few people volunteered negative trolls types of comments to teenagers . We didn't know what we were doing always had a great time .

I absolutely love this car. I may not be into jdm cars or their motors. Hell I may not totally agree with the swap. But the creativity u have to come up with the idea of it and do it, I appreciate it. When it comes to cars, u shouldn't build them to please others. U should build them to make u proud and happy of what u have created. Wether it's a full restore or just a car no one cared for that is rusted out and falling apart. I honestly love the Chevy Beretta. I have always wanted to either restore one or build a custom one. One day. One day.
