Looking forward to visit shortly & remember my childhood days with my childhood friends ❤️ Love you Banakal
Thank you, Kripal. You are so very correct. Each and every citizen of reasoning age is directly responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Let us carry an empty shopping bag with us and use it for all our garbage as we travel. Then we can dispose of the bag into the appropriate bin when we come across one OR into our own bin at home.
Picturesque scenery. Yes, the cleanliness of public spaces is up to the residents and visitors. I was amazed to read that in Japan, people always carry a waste bag so that they can put used food and drink waste in it and dispose of it when they get home or when they find a waste bin. As for highway speeds, 65mph to 75 mph is more typical in the USA, with some desolate stretches permitting 80mph. Therefore, 120kmph is reasonable. If your wife had accompanied you, we may have got a chance to see what vegetarian items are on offer at this homestay.😊
The lack of regular rain in the Malnad region too is quite concerning. The future seems ominous if we continue to experience poor rainfall this year as well.

Kripal looking forward to the details planning to spend couple of days with Family will call and check as I have special need son and a pet who accompanies us for stays. Thank you - as it is nearby and 4 hours drive. Please do update on the weather also thank you very much 🙂
Hi Sunny, please do speak to the hosts, am sure they will ensure you and your family are comfortable. As for the weather when we visited early April, it was a bit warm during the day, but very pleasant and cool, even nippy in the mornings and evenings.
A saying on that ' Extended dustbin' really touched me, whether it's rural or urban area. I thought that it would be clean, but it's not, so sad. Those are spoiling nature. There's no other land that God provided us but where we live. I think and feel that awareness must be given on cleanliness there. No one is going to clean our land but we. These days, the streams nearby Aizawl are also cleaned and rubbish are picked up by youth adventure clubs from high schools and colleges, even the locals too the Young Mizo Association (Y.M.A). The ecosystems and environment of rivers would be more secure from dirt in future. Just added my thoughts. That homestay is really like home, When the owner spoke about Coorg pork, I was delighted ... Here we eat smoked pork, fried pork, fresh pork etc...And almost every family eats pork on Sunday morning meals... In Mizoram our diet is Meal in the morning Tea in the afternoon and evening and dinner ... its our tradition. But, I'm accustomed to any diet style ...Breakfast , Lunch and dinner also... Thank You, Sir Kripal.
Hi Lalthazuala, thoughtful initiative by the Y.M.A. to help clean the environment. The homestay was indeed like a home, enjoyed my stay there, as you will see in the other vlogs that will follow in this series. Hope you are doing well.

Hi Kripal, re litter, I live in the outskirts of Toronto in a town called Ajax and after Covid, we’re seeing the same litter- styrofoam, coffee cups, plastic cups etc. Most of this is unfortunately from recent immigrants. I’ve witnessed 2 guys in a truck in a plaza with a garbage can not more than 10 meters away but they threw their coffee cup right in front of us as we were walking our dogs down the sidewalk. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the pristine coffee estate in India or a conservation area in Canada, people are bringing their old habits to the west. Sorry to say. I do my bit and pick up the litter as well as some of our neighbours-
Good afternoon dear Kripal - Last couple of days I am down with a severe stomach bug . So taking it easy . Wow your intro itself made me happy . The road is beautiful and good that you are going for a brief staycation at Chitaki Homestay in a Coffee ☕️ estate . Need to check on the Gourmet Biker - Harley estate . Good way to test the Jimny 👍 Quick pitstop for a plate or Idli with chutney and a glass of coffee ☕️. This kind of diet that my Doc has advised me to have for the next few days - light meals like Idli , Upma , Khichadi , Dal rice , curd etc . Being a foodie it’s gonna be tough . Actually this weekend I had plans to take my friends to Lonavala for my Birthday celebration unfortunately due my health condition we have postponed it . Why does it Chime at speeds over 80 KMPH. The road looks good and the suspension also seems to be good 👍 Beautiful route 👌 I was wondering why you suddenly stopped. Great idea to soak in the Coffee county . It’s so unfortunate that even educated people strew such non-biodegradable stuff . It comes with self discipline. My wife is so strict on this aspect that she would immediately go to folks who litter , spit etc and ensure that they don’t litter or spit tobacco . In fact there should be Dust bins along the way for people who want to throw the used PET bottles or other things. Oh wow the property is good and we now know that Chitaki is a small bird . Lovely room with a great view 👌 Thats their main idea that every room has a good view and you soak into the Coffee estate 👌👌 Loved the way Mr Sharath explained the process of Pepper making . Time for a late lunch and it’s indeed a feast ; Chilli Chicken , Mutton fry , Mutton Biryani , Brinjal Palya and Rasam . Super hospitable hosts 👌 So happy that you are relishing all the dishes while discussing about the delicious food and the core ingredients 💯💯💯 Well said Kripal the Homestay becomes more comfortable when the owners are passionately involved. Looks like the Mutton fry has hit the Spot 😋😋 Time for dessert ; Sabakki Payasa . Yes I knew that the Mutton fry was your favourite 👌👌 You could have got Boss to this place . She would have enjoyed it 👍 Looking forward to the next part of this Homestay series . I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog . Though the dishes made me salivate , I need to exercise a strict diet control . You take care , stay healthy . Happy Sunday and Loads of love and respect 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Hi Rajesh, sorry to learn you were down with a stomach bug on your birthday. I am wondering about one paradox. I am originally from Europe - so we don't grow coffee in Europe, we only import and roast and European coffee is AMAZING (tasty). I think it means that roasting is the most important thing.
