....even if it was totally hidden, I am sure you could have explored it anyhow through your impeccable acumen and brought it to fore for the food lovers fans and community. And such unsung heroes rightly deserve so.
Hello Kripal sir. Great content. There are many such eateries in Udupi, Hotel Triveni, Acharya Darshini, Kuru Bhunkshwa to name a few. I suggest you to have a separate section in your channel to cover Udupi and Mangalore based hotels and restaurants only. Anyways, Carry on the good work. Happy eating!.
What I loved about this video is how they have given their honest opinion on food and most importantly the address of the restaurant where many youtubers don't come out with details. Thanks !
Kripal, if anyone asks what your USP is, you show them this video and the one with the wood fired idlies. Unsung heros, hole in the wall places that serve love and care more than food itself. LOVE IT.
Heroes hidden in plain sight. That is what these humble yet formidable people are. She wakes up every day at 0330 and works throughout the day. Respect! Thank you Kripal for telling us these stories.
Exactly. True Dharmic Bharat lives in these modest eateries with the owners still operating as the chefs! May that Bharat 🇮🇳 live and thrive forever 🕉️🙏🏼
Last week i was in Udupi and visited Hotel Mitra Samaj. Next time i will surely visit this place for breakfast. Thanks Krupal sir for recommending this eatery
I am in the USA for the dollars to build a retirement corpus after not being able to pay my bills with the cheap salaries in India. Unfortunately Indians have been reduced to cheap labor and asked to work for 14 hours per day by chronic capitalists like Narayan Murthy. I cant wait to retire in Udupi having breakfast in such beautiful places with even more beautiful people. I love coastal Karnataka to the moon and back. I feel such a void in my life after the loss of my parents a year ago in Mangalore. I am in my 40s and these kind of videos relaxes me a lot.
I am sorry for your loss, Anil. heartened that these videos connect you back to udupi and coastal Karnataka even though you are oceans away. I wish you well, take care.
Money is not the only thing in life.People lead their life happily even if they get 20k pm.Its all in the mindset gentlemen.Don't blame your country for your miseries.
@@iruvailsrinivasajagadisha5669 Wow I am from Iruvail too. But I politely disagree with you. When you mother is in the ICU and doctor has to do life saving surgery its the money that needs to be paid and not your happiness quotient. I definitely blame the chronic capitalists of India for exploiting the economic desperation of hard working Indians. By your logic why did our grandpas fight for freedom from British? We should have been happy and satisfied with whatever we had. Empty pockets will teach you the toughest lessons in this world and 20 K per month is abject poverty by any stretch of imagination unless you are ok with living in slums with sword brandishing rowdies. I love India and Indians are the most talented. I blame the Ambanis and Murthys of India who abused Indian middle class for their advantage.
The dish she prepared using jackfruit is also common in North Malabar, especially in Kasargod and the northern part of Kannur district. For the fritters, we don't use jackfruit directly. Instead, we first make jackfruit pulp mixed with ghee and sugar or jaggery, roasting it in a bronze kadai until it becomes thick. This mixture is then preserved. When needed, we mix the preserved jackfruit pulp with rice flour and banana batter, allow it to ferment for a while, and then fry it in hot coconut oil. 😀
Kripal great rainy day breakfast in UDUPI. Amazing to see small enterprises so humble, no artificial flavours but serving the best and not deep pockets. Simple, Humble and Tasty Hospitality - Happy eating in Udupi 🙂 - Thank you
Having a simple yet tasty food on a modest eatery with a beautiful climate outside is soulful... Mrs. Sanjeevani looks humble and genuine...Yet another wholesome video kripal sir🤍
Kripal's alfactory nerves are so sharp and sensitive that he can take us to any/every nook and cranny where you get top quality food, east or west, north or south, large or tiny, stylish or simple...!! Thank you Kripal...!!
Love that you also review and promote such modest establishments, hidden gems perhaps unknown to many in the that city itself.Noted for my next trip to udupi soon.Thank you.
I am a big fan of halsina hannina mulaka. In my opinion mulaka tastes much better the day after it is cooked. I know it sounds counterintuitive but trust me cold mulakas taste better than hot ones.
Gosh... my mouth is watering...I have been to all the restaurants around this except this... OMG.. next time when I visit, definitely will go there. Thanks boss . Lovvely video 👌👏. Lovvely lady ❤

My grandfather used to bring us to this place. I have a lot of good memories and We used to eat our heart out here. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced.
Those jackfruit fritters are called "gariyo" in Konkani. Best thing to have in jackfruit season. I've only eaten them from my mom's kitchen. Vanishree is now on my list. Thanks!
Mr. Kripal, great show. Next time, in Udupi, pls cover three other popular joints where locals go to..very tasty but simple joints. 1) Priyadarshini veg hotel at Brahmagiri circle. 2)Hotel Gokul Veg at Kunjibettu, near MGM college in Udupi-Manipal road. 3) Bhattara canteen, at Maruti Veetika, near Mitra hospital
Jack fruit Mulka reminds me of Palmyra fruit season in Srilanka. Mainly made by Jaffna Tamils where the fruit peeled pulp is extracted by hand, cooked with a bit of salt, rice flour added to pulp and now mostly wheat flour is used and fried the same way as the mulka, we call it Panangaikai. Smell and the curly spikes are also tasty.
hi, Kripal interesting analysis of recipes you show in your video... i am an Indian but residing in Kenya. That sweet bun you tested is the same thing made here in Kenya, East Africa in kind of triangular shape they call it "Mahamri" is their local delicacy here in Mombasa, coastal city of Kenya...👍🏼
You must visit one more place... Hotel Renuka ( Kadari) Approximately 3 kms from Bajagoli junction towards Shringeri Kudremukh road. Since it's a rainy season you may get to taste varieties of GSB dishes. One more in Bansale Ramesh Pai's mess. 2 kms from Harikandige.( Manipal side)Here GSB lunch is available in weekdays only You will definitely enjoy the food.
Thanks Kripal Sir for this video. We had breakfast here today, very tasty food. Been to Udupi twice earlier, but been to typical touristy places like Woodlands Hotel. But didn't notice this eatery, as it was written in Kannada.
Next I have to taste.....we will be searching for good food whenever we visit Udupi...BCS my daughter is studying there.....as your suggestion visited Mithra samaja
