Yeah, the Mask is definitely one of those characters/properties that was a lot more violent and gory and nuts in the original comics before becoming more kid friendly in the leap to the screen. Another one that comes to mind is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... Fight Night Friday Death Battle is always good, always something I look forward to. Cheers!!!

If I remember correctly Ben and Chad said this would be the last Deadpool Death Battle, which is why they specifically chose the Mask because they knew it would be so one-sided and allow them to round out this trilogy story thing they were doing with Deadpool's relationship with Death Battle.
But that doesn't stop them from using some Deadpool cameos here and there, but just letting y'all know.
Also really looking forward to the Tifa v Yang Death Battle, I assume you're going to do it at some point when y'all get to vol 3 of RWBY.
We will for sure do that death battle. We’ve been told we are past spoilers now but will probably just wait until after season 2 of RWBY 🤗
Yes this one of the best Death battles to this day. It really teaches you how powerful Toonforce characters are between The Mask, Road Runner,Bugs Bunny & the looney tunes it’s practically impossible to kill them as long as they find it funny they can do whatever. You guys should react to Popeye vs Saitama or SpongeBob vs Aquaman next. Also the scenes we saw when Deadpool was using the continuity gem were past death battles.
For me it’s 1)Deadpool vs Deathstroke 2) Deadpool vs the Mask 3) Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie

This entire episode was a parody of spite matches that are intentionally a stomp.

14:30 that little montage with the Continuity Gem was a bunch of previous Death Battles that one way or another the fans didn't agree, Link vs Cloud, Rogue(X-Men) vs Wonder Woman, the Iconic Goku vs Superman, and Yang vs Tifa
And yeah this was a stomp, to the point where it was more sad than funny at some points
Actually outside Superman Vs Goku, Ben and Chad straight up admitted all those past death battle outcomes were wrong in their Death Battle Casts which was further proven in the (minor spoiler )...

Man, I forgot how cool the Mask was (both this character and the movie with the same name feature Jim Carrey, not the same but still cool lol). And it's fitting to have the Mask up against Deadpool. This was another classic Death Battle. Great reaction

I am surprised the only Sailor Moon character they ever did was their final villain. You would think they would have had at least a Senshi Battle Royal at some point.
I think now with how much copyright issues they had with that episode, they don't want to touch it again. Like the Berrus episode got taken down I believe or at least gave them ton of issues with copyright that...tbh I don't see them doing anymore.

I was just thinking recently that you two should check out the Yang vs Tifa episode. Maybe wait until you're done season 2 though; I think there may be a minor spoiler or two.
After volume 3 chapter 3 should be the safest for Tifa v Yang if I'm remembering correctly, while it was made before the volume three aired, a certain fan favorite black bird is mentioned and shown in Yang's rundown.
We for sure plan to check it out but wanted to wait a bit to avoid spoilers like you said 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Weiss and Blake also have Death Battles. I don't remember them well enough to remember if there are spoilers but Weiss's came out after Voume 6 and Blake's came out after Volume 8, just in case.

the mask is basically immortal that the pain he shows visibly is just for making fun of his enemies. he doesn't really feel it.
The Mask was the first movie I saw with Jim Carrey in it, and actually i thought it was stupid as a teen... years later I saw "The Truman Show" (one of my favorite movies ever) and understood it and realized what an incredible actor he is... and then I saw The Mask again and could laugh about it because I understood it

But Dumb and Dumber (because uncut it is a pretty good road movie and it seems nobody sees that way) is my fav and Man on the Moon. Jim Carrey’s portrayal of Andy Kaufman is nothing less than profound. Also when you read a book about Andy Kaufman. Weird guy but eh damn good entertainer.

The comics version of the mask was terrifying badass and plain joker levels of sadistic/ insane and unlike the movie the mask kept changing host cause eventually all the people who wore it gave up on it and died
The Mask kind of reminds us of symbiote relationship. Where it is slowly sucking the life from you as you wear it 😯 kind of curious to read some mask comics now though to see how dark it gets 🤔

The Mask's origins isn't linked to cartoons though...not in his official backstory...his powers are crazy diverse like cartoon characters yes...but THE MASK originates from africa and it is a voodoo artefact. in fact the backstory lore states there were seven masks each with slightly different shapes but we only see two or three of them in the comics.
Okay, for toony fighters, you should definitely check out Saitama vs. Popeye.
(Actually, they have Mickey Mouse vs. Bugs Bunny reserved for some time in the future. I think those two are so evenly matched, it's gonna come down to the nitty-gritty of their skillsets.)

There are 3 death battles that include characters from RWBY so I'd recommend skipping them until you're about where the show was at the time the death battles came out so you don't get spoiled. Yang's came out just before Volume 3 release (so post Volume 2), Weiss's came out Weiss's came out after Volume 6, and Blake's came out last year after Volume 8
I think this one set the precedent that sentient items can be considered as possible fighters, so now I’m hoping for an eventual Witchblade death battle.
Once you get through Volume Two of RWBY, you need to react to Tifa vs Yang Death Battle! It was what got me into RWBY and what made me interested in Yang out of all the characters in the show which is why she will always be my favorite character ever!
Don't forget Blake Blake Vs. Mikasa

Hm, this was a interesting Matchup, however while I can understand what they were going for, I think they could’ve done better, still it was okay.

I would have found it funnier If Deadpool ACTUALLY won post battle, after getting wished back by Boomstick, by picking up the continuity gem, and rewrote the history with it, to "Win" against the mask. It'd be really fun and meta, IMO.

Fun to watch, but i noticed they didn't mention one of the major drawbacks to the Mask. Loki is was Norse night god so all one needs to do is run out the clock and in the morning, take the person out once the mask loses its effect.
This was incredibly satisfying for me to watch, I don’t like deadpool.
