The "no make up" look is what I prefer but given my dark circles it's hard to find a concealer with enough coverage that both conceals and doesn't look cakey.
So true 😖. Have you tried Too Faced Born This Way Or Bareminerals stick concieler already? They are my faves (hydrating, but full coverage, esp. when using little bit corrector like FAB Eye Duty Triple Remedy or CT Magic under under the eyes) 😘
Try playing with actual colour correctors - you’ll use less product even though they need a light concealer on top. Emily Noel explains it well- she has darker than normal under eyes and melasma. Jessica Braun too. Charlotte Tilbury makes a corrector, benefit used to. Wayne Goss explains it well too.
I second the color corrector suggestion. Using a corrector with the opposite undertones of your dark circles helps neutralize them, offsets the darkness, and slightly conceals. Going in afterward with a regular concealer does the rest of the concealing work. You only need a thin layer of each product, so it minimizes the chance of cakiness.
I’ve got a tip for very dark circles. Before applying concealer under eyes, tap on the dark area with some cream highlighter that is light skin toned and doesn’t have big glitter particles. Then apply just enough concealer, not too much. The highlighter underneath will reflect some light and make you dark circles lighter. Please don’t bake with powder there if you do try this tip.

The Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow is my one-stop product, in the warmer months. The first time I used it (years ago) I had to call my daughter, to come over, because I was so gobsmacked by the stuff. It really is a filtering glow! LOVE IT!
I’m so glad you mentioned powder concealers. I love them! I have even been skipping my powder foundation and just using my powder concealer on my eye area. Add a little eye makeup, a touch of blush, some lip gloss, and boom good to go. About 5 minutes and done and I love it. I used to spend an hour doing my makeup everyday and it was such a chore, and I truly don’t think it really looked any better the minimal makeup.
I love your channel, Shelbey. Am 70 years young & haven’t been a fan of foundation most of my makeup’ years. But am very interested in the neutrogena skin tint. Your videos are always spot-on & enjoyable!! Keep up the good advising!!

I am 69 years old and, based on Shelby’s video, I tried the Neutrogena Hydroboost skin tint. I love it. My skin feels supple and it gives me a more even skin tone. I highly recommend that you try it. I blend it with a brush like Shelby does-great result.

I'm a guy so it's important for base products to be undetectable on me ("your foundation looks great" is *not* a compliment!).
Two that won't even cake up on stubble - and I dare say they won't on peach fuss or flakes either - are MAC Face and Body and Make Up For Ever Water Blend.
Also from MUFE, the Ultra HD Perfector blurring skin tint is wonderful. Despite the sheer to light coverage it works best applied in thin layers.
Chantecaille call their Future Skin a medium to full coverage foundation, which is just deluded. I don't even need a mirror to apply this lightweight gel (yes, I tried). It has the most healthy glow to it hydrates, blurs and looks like you just woke up that way.
It's also very expensive, and since I use up a jar pretty quick it's just out of my budget.
I apply all with my fingers, eventually finishing with a quick blend and buff. Usually with the Urban Decay Optical Blurring brush.
Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Glow is my ultimate 'foundation'! I don't need to worry about foundation being too light or too dark as it matches me no matter how tan I am. And it absorbs into my skin, making it look like skin! Love it!
If Charlotte Tilbury would cool it with the fragrance and add some SPF I'd be all over it!

I don't like foundation either and I also love the Neutrogena Hydrating Tint. I learned about it from another beauty vlogger and took her suggestion to buy two shades. I dot shade 40 lightly all over my face, blend, and then use shade 30 to lighten under my eyes and anywhere else that needs a boost. It's the perfect consistency between regular concealer and foundation.

I love the Glossier stretch concealer, I use it like a foundation alongside my Trinny BFF cream and it’s perfect!
My favorite thing in this category is Dr. Jart Beauty Balm. It's like a tinted moisturizer and makes me look so glowy, and it has spf.
My absolute favorite combo lately has been Glossier skin tint topped up with some BareMinerals original powder. I've got bad acne, but that combo makes my skin look as good as it can without looking cakey, at all.
I've been loving the Juice Beauty CC Cream. It has no coverage really, but it just makes my skin look even and glowing. I think of it more as SPF and a moisturizer. Works really well.

I absolutely love the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Glow for summer. I can just pop it on to even out skin tone and add a little concealer on any blemishes and I'm good to go. Plus it's great for the beach if you want a little something, but don't want sand to stick to it or any creasing/caking to happen.
I was curious & bought The Ordinary's serum foundation. It's so inexpensive I was a bit leery. I found it to be too much for me alone but mix it with my moisturizer? Perfection. I use a brush to sheer it out and it gives me enough coverage even in the Tucson heat. 🤗❤👍
Literally all I use is the glossier stretch concealer under my eyes and on small spots or red areas in two colors because I hate foundation so much and even just started hating even bb or cc creams. I want my skin to breathe all day but still look ready to go😂 this concealer blends the best into straight skin of anything I've ever tried before

Thank you for this! I am 51 and have combination skin, even more so since I've been put on hrt for the menopause. I have always struggled to find a decent foundation that performs, without looking cakey, but recently I've found my holy grail. Depending on level of coverage required, I use either Nyx Can't stop concealer to spot conceal on my face and Revolution hydrate and conceal concealer under my eyes (literally 1 dot on the inner corner, and 1 dot on the outer corner) OR I use Nudestix light 2 under the eyes and medium 4 elsewhere. After concealing, I use Laura Geller Balance and Brighten baked Foundation in Light very lightly over my whole face. I let it sit for 10m, do a final blend with my fingers before I apply my gel blusher, eyeliner, etc, and it looks just perfect. Like skin. I've never received so many compliments about my skin... It is just beautiful.... The best build-able powder foundation, that does not settle into fine lines, brightens the skin and is just lush! I'm really interested in this neutrogena one... Think I need to try it out...😘
How is the shade range on the Laura Geller? I have trouble finding shades that aren't too pink or orange.
I recently found Pixie skin tint after trying over 20 foundations the last two years. Love it. I’m 57, like a light foundation and it does not sit on top of my skin. Currently my holy grail foundation. Just can’t wait to get back into the public to wear it!

I would put the Kosas tinted face oil in this category. The initial oily feeling takes some getting used to but it sinks into your skin immediately. I have combo/oily skin and it doesn't make my skin look greasy at all, it just gives an even tint with a really healthy looking glow. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Yes! This couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s been getting too hot where I’m at and I completely stopped wearing any kind of face makeup except sunscreen cause it’s just feels too gross. These are some good options!

I have a love-hate relationship with the Charlotte UniSex glow. I love how it performs on me. I’m a 33 yr male and don’t wear make up . I wanted something that would give me a bit of color and not be noticeable I had makeup on . Once blended on you can not tell you have anything on , at least not for me . I just hate the price !!😭😭😭
The other one you mention is the Mac Facebody . Love that !! It really is skin like and I’ve gotten compliments from people just saying my skin looks healthy .

I am 63 and have been wearing Mac F&B for years. Love it so much Sometimes though for just a hair more coverage and just because of the pump I enjoy Lancôme Skin Feels Good skin tint. So good if you can get a shade match. Slightly more Clinique Even Better, thinned with moisturizer during cold weather

I love the CT Light Wonder or Dior Nude Air Serum - lightweight, just even out the skin a bit, no heavy coverage and gives a very healthy glow.
I’m not a foundation person. I like just concealer for under my eyes, blush, bronzer, mascara, clear brow gel n lip gloss.

Girls I’m the same, I feel like foundation is to heavy, to be honest it doesn’t even make any difference to my makeup just a extra layer of cake-e-nesse, I would rather go with a full coverage concealer.
@Claire Rogerson I use Mary Kay concealer. It's a lot like Tarte shape tape, but not so thick. I like a natural look without powders, and it blends well for me. Plus my skin is super fair, and it's hard to find one that's a match.
But foundation I'm never happy with, so maybe I'll just try a blurring primer with concealer and call it a day lol

Whenever my Sephora order arrives-- I have bareMinerals Complexion Rescue in there. Just for kicks and giggles and something new to me which is another one I have had on my list from watching Shelby’s videos for a few years now.
I got their stick concealer and love it- again because Shelby recommended it.
Not surprising but those plus Mac Studio Fix powder foundation are part of my easygoing comfortable products for getting a my face but better, still comfortable and easy to use products.

Thank you so much for this! Perfect for this time of year (I think most of us like a lighter base in the warmer months.. I use a tinted moisturiser year round as I have a dry/dehydrated skin type. Laura mercier or BM complexion rescue are my faves) but I have been curious to try the nyx one for a little while, but was put off by some reviews saying it was horrible on dry skin. LOVE Neutrogena hydra boost. Tried it because of how you described it. LOVE!!! I have used bare minerals for like 20 years or more and love it to death. Just went on QVC and I got another well rested. Got scared it was getting discontinued....I'll use it, love that stuff. I really like bisque as well!

I use Paula's Choice tinted sunscreen and I have found that to be good for moisture and evening skin tone (but only light-medium because its one color only). I wanted to recommend this product for more minimal makeup users because everyone I know who has used it really likes it, it doesn't break up, transfer, or wear off like foundation, and it can be used as a primer underneath foundation so you can use less for more natural looks. It has no coverage so its useful for every day wear but for the flawless look I will add concealer+powder in the center of the face just as you did and it blends with everything. I have combination skin (oily t-zone, dry jaw area).

I have tried a few of these solely based on your recommendations. I have the hydro boost, stretch concealer, bare minerals original foundation and well rested, and I love them all. They are light and don't look or feel heavy or cake on my face. I also have the nyx tinted veil but I do not like that one at all! I couldn't find a good color match It makes my dry skin look worse cause it sticks to all the texture and dry spots in the worst way and nothing can make it look better for me. I tried it while I was on a trip and had to take it off and redo my base makeup with just the Glossier concealer cause that's all I had brought with me (stupid I know!). Another tinted moisturizer I like is Balm Shelter by the Balm. It's light and moisturizing has decent coverage (enough to cover my rosacea and even skin tone) but is buildable too for when I want more. It is matte though, can feel heavy with the more you apply, and the Balm's shade range isn't extensive. While it's not my favorite, I like it and use it sometimes even having dry skin. Love your videos and I look forward to every one ❤

Thank you for this video Shelbey I just love your “natural” looks. I’m 63 and finding foundation settling in my lines however I do have to use a concealer to cover my ever increasing age spots ☹️ Could you do a tutorial on how to achieve a “natural” look for the more mature lady?
Im not really a foundation fan and have found that the Mally Neutralizing primer is a great product to even out my skin tone and make my complexion look smoother and just slightly glowy. I have an oilier complexion and feel this product still works well for me. That primer plus her face defender is a great combo and is comfortable to wear and very low maintenance.

Dr. Hauschka has a tinted face lotion, too: Translucent Bronzing Tint. Great and light product, without a filter function but without silicons like the most. I wish they would go for no parfume, but beside of this great thing 😊 Kosas Tinted Face Oil is very light, too. The most time I use mineral foundation and concealer, it’s always so pretty natural 🤗

I am an absolute sucker for gel based "foundations". I am in love with BM Complexion Rescue and Neutrogena Hydro Boost. I can't seem to get a really good color match in the Neutrogena though - have to mix. I am thinking I may try the CT Unisex Healthy Glow to bump up the color of my 40 Nude Neutrogena. Love this video - barely there is my jam!
