I am making a leash and I want to start the braid on the metal hardware that clips to the leash. Looking at the top where the braid starts, I don't see any logical way to loop the three long strands through this hardware (it could be a D-ring or rectangular) then get it started. Also as @helena-3249 said below, it would be great to know how to finish it. Thanks!
