In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

As an American, I'm used to shows based around intense competition and prizes. It feels very cold and ruthless, much like parts of the country.
I really enjoy that most UK shows put the entertainment first, and nobody's confused about it. Some barely put forth an effort to claim it's about anything but having fun. Which is great. I really do not care who wins. I want to be entertained. That's what makes daddy forget about his problems. Oh yes. Ohhh yes.

Essentially, if you want to make a list in a prose paragraph you can use the semicolon as a sort of mid-sentence bullet point. it's a bit archaic but you'll find it in a great deal of canonical English lit.

snuzzernaut hate to break it to you, but UK season 1 was filmed in 2015. US season 1 was filmed in 2018 for comedy central. Reggie watts was the task master. They never made season 2. Good news is Channel 4 picked up the UK series for 2020. Hopefully they’ll take your advice!

One of my favorite parts of this show is finding out how they skirt the rules every time.
It’s like watching someone argue the letter and the spirit of the law every time (which sometimes it breaks down into anyways).

@@propio2957 It is a small bit of north London. Do you not have metro/subway where you're at? It's similar to taking the bus to a named neighborhood (frequently known by the name because of the metro stops).

To answer your question, no. Many cities in the U.S. and particularly in the Midwest (where I live) have very little or no public transportation. I personally have never been anywhere that had underground public transportation. Midsize cities around here may or may not have a bus system (my small city of about 20,000 does not, but the neighboring city of 50,000 does and large cities definitely do) and that's about the only public transport you'd likely find in a majority of the U.S. I've heard that we are quite lacking in this category in comparison to many European countries.

@@propio2957 That's fair enough, the US is so much larger than Europe. I do hope the US can work out better public transport, but that is probably an improbable dream. If you ever find yourself in a place with a metro, a lot of areas take on the name of the station that is closest. Buses are a blessing and a curse. If you are late for something, you will be later on a bus. On the other hand, they're cheap and reliable.

And I completely adore her for it, can't wait for more moments like this. She has the absolute sweetest face and demeanor which makes the raw animal instinct moments SO hilarious.

Lolly is such a beaut. I love her positive attitude about everything.
I think she is the the second season of Miracle Workers.

@@chrisj403 There is a limited time to do challenges, this one and the last art challenges were 10 minutes each, and the last one was having to draw a person he could not see and had to figure out what they looked like via asking questions.
I've been an artist for 30 years and while I can easily do something in 10 min, you sure as heck won't be getting my best. I'd imagine it's the same for him.
I honestly only know him from these UK tv shows, I didn't even know he had an art degree until this comment section.
Anyhow, if you are interested in seeing other artist try to draw in short times, there was a video challenge a years ago about drawing in 1 min, 10 min, and 1 hour. That might help demonstrate the difficulty in drawing something in short time frames. You have a good one. :)
@@chrisj403 Possibly, but that is why I mentioned the 1 min, 10 min, 1 hour challenge videos. Not everyone can do well under a limited time frame, and those videos demonstrate that even good artist can't do too well under time restrictions.
I have no idea what that guy is capable of, but in my opinion it was pretty good given the short time frame, challenge rules and conditions in which he had to paint in.
Also, there are many types of art styles and different appreciation for them, to you and I that might be pretty good or just ok, and to others that might be the best thing they've ever seen.

Chris J The thing is, Noel’s been a professional (if I may say so) artist for over 20 years and, I believe, has developed a particular style which includes certain shapes/colours/expressions, so, I’m pretty sure, doing the task where they had to pain Greg, he potentially could’ve create an anatomically/visually “correct” image with all of his artistic background but instead portrayed taskmaster in his own recognisable way. And also I’m pretty sure he doesn’t really give a fuck...

Me too! Here in US, but thanks to Brit posters on TH-cam for providing us with these gems! I can't get enough of Taskmaster! 8 out of 10 cats Does Countdown and Would I Lie to You? and QI have so many series, but I've gone through all of them - all caught up. And more than one time. Watching many reruns.
I love how much fun Joe, Noel and Lolly seemed to have with the flower task. Lmao at the end they just decided to chuck everything that wasn’t nailed down off the bandstand.

Living the Dream
This is one of my favorite seasons - without knowing anything about Noel (except that I IMMEDIATELY loved him) I called him early as the winner. He was just so likeable, does well at athletics AND art...just an all around lovely human being. I also loved Mel, Hugh, Lolly, and Jon.

interestingly enough the long distance painting/drawing is actually a technique to help hand eye coordination and a valid form of art.

With the flour chucking task, at 25:37 and 26:49, we can see that there are bystanders fairly close by, within yelling distance for both teams. They could have asked the passerby to take the target and bring it closer to them as they poured flour onto the target!
They've asked random people to help them complete tasks on the show before, this would have been an easy one for either team!
I'm rewatching this show and I just noticed that mel *technically* touches the canvas with her fingers to paint in the second task, (around the 19-20 minute mark), so Greg could've been petty and disqualified her since the only the paint and brushes could touch the canvas 😂
I love that no one in the egg challenge used the napkin. 4 of 5 used a slice of bread.
I was surprised too! The napkin was my first idea. You pick up a lot of things with a napkin over the course of a life, not as many with bread
