I tried and it's super bad...nothing better than the original shifter. I'm not even sure that the short shifter has the correct movement to engage properly. I tried 2 minutes and I removed it directly
@kentcarmedia yes first gear is pretty hard to find but also, too short in my opinion. Maybe better when it's warmed up but still, I was expecting something better. My kit is maybe to cheap as I couldn't fit well the plastic cap at the end of the stick inside the touret. Dimensions were out of specs so I had to adjust. Very bad stuff. I don't recommend as far as it's a cheap kit. Miata deserves better components.

That’s strange, mine feels good, sometimes first gear is hard to find but once it’s warmed up it’s sweet!
