I love the cleanness of the build. I've seen some people be happy with casually bolting on the light switches & everything in a functional utilitarian way without integrating but there's something satisfying about seeing these videos & looking in the truck & everything looks like it was installed by the factory
Toyo tires are great. I've been running them on a Ford Bronco for about a year now with no problems and great off-road performance. They did so well, my pops switched from 39.5 Super Swamper Irocs to some 37 Toyos. They're doing well for him too. Sick build guys!
Great builds but could you do a spec sheet on the description of the video? Sometimes we want to know what wheel or light that is without rewatching the whole vid.
would you be interested in a vid on a discussion on gear ratio to tire size and weight. there is a lot of thoughts and discussion on boards but the recommendations are all over the place.
Absolutely. I have several videos like that on deck to put out as just short informative videos on my approach to these subjects. Keep an eye out and hopefully I'll be able to shoot those and get them up before too long.
@@LancerNik13 my guess is that if my stock tundra can get 17 to 18 highway this truck is getting 2-3 mpg less due to the extra rotational mass. 4.88 gears will help to get some of the power back. Again not super fantastic fuel economy but I would expect around 14mpg on the hwy.
I really like that set up with the LP9s. I’ve been trying to figure out for a couple weeks how I could do that with my Tacoma while keeping my tss and front camera functional! I may be asking to much!
I mounted my viar tank in roughly the same spot, but further to the front of the vehicle in that location. It allows you to put your spare tire back under the bed. I know a 33" fits there like that anyway.
@@TAVLLC Kinda figured that. A 33 is pushing it with the space towards the tow hitch. Is there a particular reason to have 2 air systems? Reliability maybe? I was thinking of getting air lockers and just using my onboard air I already have.

I have a 2015 sr5 plus double cab with the trd off road package in Canada. Wondering if you are able to do the newer tundra's with the TSS system and calibrate everything. i was gonna trade but then they said you couldn't lift the trucks with TSS but some dealers had lifted 2018's so not sure. Anyways nice video of an already capable rugged truck but better. So far 90000 kilometers with oil changes, tire rotations, recommended maintenance checks and 4 prairie cold winters.
Very nice set up, I have the exact same King setup you did here. I also went with 35x12.50x20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, mounted on Fuel “trophy” wheels. What method did you do on this build to calibrate the new tire and wheel size. I did measure my MPH, and found that I’m only about 1-2 MPH off on what the speedometer is saying and shifting seems to be good, no lagging. Would you still recommend me getting this calibrated though? This is where I need some guidance. Thx
Tactical Application Vehicles: Nice! I am looking to buy a 2020 Tundra in the next few months, depending on the economy. It will either be a Pro or Platinum. If I go Pro I will probably leave the suspension mostly stock, if I go Platinum I would love to do a King setup like you offer. I will be in touch. Again awesome builds! 👍
I've been looking for an aftermarket front and real, solid steel bumper for my 2020 Tundra. I want the stock features of the truck like BSM to continue to work with whichever new bumper I get. So, question is, do those ADD bumpers allow for that to happen?
Truck looks awesome. What do you mean when you say "floating airbags"? I've installed bags on all my trucks but then of course lost that articulation. Thanks
Do you recommend 4.56 gears after upgrading to 35s??? And does your mileage return to factory? It would be great if you would shed some light on that. Thank you Alexander
It all depends on where you want you're RPM range to be while on the highway and what you'll be doing with the truck. The very first thing you do to a stock vehicle will effect the MPG. You can gain some of your MPG's back if everything is addressed properly like speedometer calibration, gearing, tire pressures and wind resistance but you'll never return to stock numbers. A 4.56 with a 35 works really well. You can also go 4.88 with a 35 if you'll be pulling a trailer or running heavy. On 37's we'll run 4.88 or 5.29 for the same reasons.
What is the Tundra rated to pull trailer wise? With the modifications you made, could it possibly pull a larger trailer without being a dully? I've seen some videos where truck and trailer enthusiasts state it is important to have a dully for larger trailers, say about 40 ft or more.
You can't legally raise the tow or payload limit of a truck. Whatever the door jam says is what you're stuck with. No half ton truck is rated to pull a 40' trailer, that's 3/4 or 1 ton territory, may not need a dually.
Hunter Black there is no comparison to portals and ground clearance anywhere. BUT! It all depends on what vehicle is using it and what the suspension is compatible with. Can’t just throw portals on anything.
Thanks for your reply, let’s say for arguments sake you had tundra with long travel and portals, do you see any potential issues other than gas millage and noise?
Because the TRD pro is a trim package. The only things we changed were the shocks and wheels. The TRD pro consists of interior trim, color, grill, badging and so on. There is far more to the TRD pro than just the shocks.
I’m looking to add air springs to my Tundra, which set up do you recommend? Do you have air springs and another support device installed in this Tundra? Thx
What would you recommend for me to do to my 2017 Toyota Tundra completely stock for my first time build? I was thinking of a 2.5" leveling kit&maybe some 33' or 35" tires, after that maybe LED upgrade I'm not sure would love some recommendations!
