Running is an addiction and every moment of pain feels like its accompanied with purpose. Completed 2 half marathon races this year with 3 more before my first full marathon in Sept! I'm terrified of Sept but can't wait. The leap to the full is daunting.
Shervin. Greetings from London, England. It’s great that you’re coming to my town! Thank you for your great content. Your approach to health fitness and wellbeing is awe inspiring. Keep going brother….👊🏾
Very nice video and very nice run. Amazing what you have achieved after what happened with your leg. I had today my 16 km run and I had enough. This year I want to try a Marathon, so far I made halfmaratons only, so that run is currently on my schedule. I wish you all the best on the London Marathon. You will make it, I am sure. I am surprised a little bit with Apple watch, but I had similar situation with my Garmin F7. I had a 10 km trail run and my Garmin tracked only 9 km. Sometimes it happenes. Greating from Slovakia.
... great stuff. I have been following your running journey for a minute. I just finished a 28 mile trail run just out side of atlanta, it was fun, but brutal. you started as a swimmer, progressed to lifting.., and now you are running. Man you are a complete athlete.. you know kinda like me, though my swimming is just good enough to keep me from drowning. keep it going Shervin
This is just what I needed, man. I’m training for a smaller marathon at the end of the year (10K), but it’s been ages since I’ve done long distance. Loved the realistic prep sequence too! For me it’s just been standardized hot-water Tongkat Ali root capsules, which have been a godsend for getting back into longer runs, and a big black coffee. It’s been great for endurance and recovery in particular. Have upped my dose to 400mg 2 hours before I train now and I’m making better time, sadly not quite there yet. Wishing you all the best for your London Marathon run and I hope I can get there too one day.
I don't think I'm anywhere near your level of stamina, haha, but I did just finish a 5k run recently. It took me a while, and I'll admit I had to walk it off towards the end because I was about to faint. Can you tell me what brand of Tongkat Ali you're using? I'm looking to add some supplements to my routine, and a lot of the folks I run with have been telling me it helps with recovery and gives you an energy boost.
That looked tough, but I’m sure the crowds cheering and adrenaline on the day will get you through. Just donated - thank for supporting such a great cause. 👍❤️
Top effort Shervin! Those long hard runs are all about putting the hay in the barn whilst laying bricks. Or something. Either way you’re going to smash London. Good luck!! 💪
I’m less than a month out from a half marathon I’ve been training for and I’m sidelined with runners knee. It’s encouraging seeing you doing this huge run when it feels like yesterday that you broke your foot. Congrats and good luck in London!
I had the same for a long time. Don't be like me and think it will sort itself out. Go to a physical therapist and you'll be up and running in a few months.
Hi Shervin, been following you for a year or so and love the content. Will see you tomorrow because I live in Greenwich which is the start of your race. Good luck my friend.
have you tried wearing the toe socks under the compression? i know double-socks aren't ideal, but having the toe socks might help counteract the increased sweating. also glad to see another runner that's super into data points like myself. i'm a beginner, but i have all the gadgets. i love to see the data on how much i'm improving!
You can have the Stryd footpod broadcast to your Garmin with Ant+, and to the AW via Bluetooth, and that way you really only need to worry about GPS for map tracing post run. I long run and race with 2 watches. Mostly due to having the Garmin give me 1k splits (since I hydrate/fuel every KM) and the Garmin has a nice livetracker which my spouse loves. But I really use the AW for all my realtime data, and the Stryd integration with AW is amazing with audible alerts to your headphones so you can stay within the power band targets you want to be in. Reducing the need to look at the watch most of the time.
Hi Shervin - I think your content is great and your opinions on tech have driven a few purchases but what I can’t see anywhere is a breakdown of your training program. How are you building muscle and putting in marathon training miles? How is your gym splits? Are you skipping leg day? How many runs per week? What kind of runs? Are there general training principals you are following from others I can follow?
The Garmin HR monitor is pretty much toast now, because replacing the battery causes the rubber o-ring to get damaged, and that makes the unit done for. Also, a dump of 2500-4000mg sodium and electrolytes 60-90 min before a big effort helps increase blood volume and will help with blood flow during the run.
Good run! I just wonder if you're going to race the actual marathon shirtless? It helps to train with conditions as close to the race day as possible. Long runs with shirts are different because of the chaffing. You learn how to deal with them (I use tape and vaseline). If that was your easy run, I'm sure you're gonna have a decent time in London!
Nice work! I think an interesting video would be some true barefoot drills on harder surfaces (pavement) or on a TrueForm machine. I think both of those would help you overcome your over-stride. Because you said your knees still hurt. That's almost completely due to over-stride! Fun hack, though-keeping your elbows back and hands around your nips will help keep your feet from swinging toward. It's a weird balance thing that the feet rarely want to come out further than the hands.
@@ShervinShares good goal to have for your first. I was the same for mine first marathon run the first half conservatively and aim to finish without stopping or walking. You just have to watch the start as the adrenaline takes over and the temptation is to go out fast.
oh ok cool, thats my plan, last summer i spent about 3 months running in zone 2-3 on treadmill with 45-50 miles week and i noticed come fall i ran my fastest 13 miler half in training ever multiple times but i started trying run to fast again and forgot go back to zone 2 base building and eventually hit wall. Now im going back zone 2 and 3 this spring summer and try hit 55-60 miles for next 4-5 months. I was gonna ask u cause i also do compound lifts bench press incline press, squats leg presses 5x5 for strength do u think that slow me down doing upper body lifts like bench press? or no? i was worried it would slow my pace bench pressing heavy 5x5
no way that core body temp thing does anything being on ur skin like that. ive read their pitch and like temperature might correlate a bit but if its data you want dont settle for subpar stuff lmao. only thing thatd work really is a temp sensor in a butt plug but for some reason i feel like thatd sell worse.
@@ShervinShares well 1. It was a joke 2. Yes i have compared my apple watch back to back with my garmin and my friend had on his wahoo ive also compared to friends with coros and garmin tends to be the most accurate generally. If he took the amount of steroids that Bare does he'd be more jacked even

Garmin has better gps options and capabilities than Apple. Just use that one.
What’s “better” mean?!?
Depends, the apple ultra series are just as good for marathon training as a garmin.

that's a lot a lot of sensors lol
also, how do you use the body temp sensors? i mean how can you use that metric to improve your runs?
It’s more for heat strain. Doing runs in certain temps to reach my body to cool itself esp if I’m running a race in a warmer climate
Man, I want all your wearable tech!

Have you used the superset app on Apple Watch and iPhone? If so, what are your thoughts?
Why Apple Watch?
You already use the Epix Pro, one of THE BESTS in the market.. 😂
So. Much. Tech. 😂 love your vids always motivating!
Thats a lot of fitness tech… Im glad I stick to just a watch and sometimes a HRM for speedwork.

Just the shakeout run on Saturday!
No running vest? I get it but maybe it would be an asset?
Haha i related to this video in so many ways.
what shorts are you wearing?
Hey bro... question:
How do you record yourself when you're running solo? Just your phone? You clip your mic on your hat? Thanks!
My Apple Watch Ultra is always short on runs compared to the Garmin. I trust the Garmin waaaay more for runs.
Interesting not just me!

Yes as long as I connect before I start the run
