Even if AMD lowers the price of the Ryzen 4100 (let's say ~$79), it doesn't seem it will be worth it. What the hell are you doing AMD? Ryzen 4100 should be a $49 CPU.
I think that Ryzen 3 4100 must have almost half the single core speed of the i3-12100 series by the amount of cache alone. This is worse than Bulldozer and Piledriver as a regression for CPUs, waaaay worse. My i7-4700MQ has 6MB of L3, single core perfomance is roughtly 75% slower than the i3-12100, but uses a little less CPU power on CSGO and clockspeed (Haswell was one of the biggest IPC jumps ever by Intel, higher than Skylake, then beated by Alder Lake and Tiger Lake). When i game, it stays around 28 or 30 watts but clockspeed is around 3.3GHz and 3.2GHz (uses all threads available), no fan noise, stays around 77 and 82 degrees (peak). Ryzen 5 3500U is Zen+, and it has 4MB of L3. So, i think the Ryzen 3 4100 must be worse than an i7-4790K from 2014. The fact i'm comparing the Ryzen 3 4100 against my i7-4700MQ which is a 9 YEAR OLD LAPTOP CPU is embarrasing. B660 usually because it's cheaper and the quality of h670 boards is the same as the b660 boards.... although after seeing RAM limitation, related to memory RANK with some cheap AMD b450 boards, I would suggest reading the product manual first. You can download a PDF of the product manual from the manufacturer's website. B660m is part of a manufacturer's product name that means the board is a micro ATX board that has the b660 chipset. The differences between the b660 and h670 chipset are..... the h670 chipset has a few more connectivity features like more PCI-E lanes, a couple more USB ports, PCIe drive RAID support, and the DMI for the h670 and z690 chipset has double the bandwidth in comparison to b660 and h610. So if you're going to connect up a bunch of NVMe drives, SATA storage drives, add-on cards and whatnot then look at the h670 or z690 chipset. Way back in the past, like 8 to 10 years ago, hx70 boards were better than their bx50/bx60 counterparts. But back then people usually didn't buy b75 and b85 boards for budget gaming rigs. This trend didn't start until Skylake.

Check Techpowerup and Gamers Nexus because they use the RTX 3080 for their CPU tests. Honestly if you can afford it, the Core i7-12700f is going to be better.
Not quite an honest comparison, but due to the lack of anything newer from amd, there is no alternative. The fact is that the 4100 is a 2020 Renoir, that is, the difference in technology is 2 years, this is the first, the second has only 4 MB of l3 cache and the third is SOC on Zen 2 cores. AMD for some reason does not give anything from the new generation for budget builds and this is strange.
How isnt it an honest comparison?Same price point, even same number of cores and threads. AMD just doesnt care about budget gamers anymore. This and the 6500 XT and new 6400 show that
All that really means is, Intel actually made a well constructed budget cpu that runs superbly, whereas AMD just tried to throw out whatever scrap they had lying around to desperately compete.
@@huggarty5434 That's just not necessary to dramatize and exaggerate, amd simply ignores the budget sector for now, and intel uses it and occupies this niche, that's all.. I just pointed out the difference in technological terms between these CPUs, of course 12100 is more productive, but the comparison is not entirely correct in the sense that the technological gap is very large, but for the consumer it really does not exist, they may compete on store shelves.

@@lilycampbell44 Well, the performance of 12100 is higher, and decently higher. I wrote about this - the difference between these CPUs is 2 years. The difference in CSGO is insane
The latter is an anomaly, it was so good that it shouldn't exist, i'm considering a Tiger Lake 8 core i7 laptop as the replacement or Alder Lake.
@@saricubra2867 Alder Lake mobile is the way to go, unless you're just gaming-there, an 8-core Tiger Lake chip will more than suffice.

That said, Ryzen 6000 series is still a good bet for those who need something for school and light gaming. Battery life on AMD machines is so much better than Intel that it's actually embarrassing.
@@saricubra2867 mind you, my little i5-12600KF already beats AMD's 16-core Threadripper 1950X in CB R23. The only challenge with those mobile Alder Lake chips is maintaining a high enough PL1/PL2 to retain those clocks, and of course keeping them cool.
@@steph_on_yt I don't know if the i7-11800H is worth it over the 12700H for gaming. Tiger Lake has 8 high perfomance cores, Alder Lake mobile only has 6. Mobo for Intel 12th gen which one better between H670 and B660M ?

Right now its actually a good choice. It costs 69€ here with a b450 mainboard for 65€ you get it for 134€, while the 12100f costs 110€ and a Mainboard also around 90€ so 200€. I dont spend 66€ more for Also a 4 core cpu
Its still decnt cpu with more realistic gpu.. New i3 are great
