Gretchen's voice is sultry and soft. I think it is a reflection of her soul-you can feel her music. I love bossa nova jazz, but she brings an infusion of R&B flowatry. Love it when she claps her hands.

The first time I'd heard Gretchen was on Marcus Miller's Renaissance CD, singing on Septembro (Brazilian Wedding Song), and caught myself tearing up a few times. Her voice is (if you've ever actually heard a butterfly fly - I have) as smooth to me as a butterfly. Beautiful and soft and seductive and mesmerizing and hypnotizing and meditative and... you get the gist.
IF I HAD TO PICK HER RENDITION OF "BUTTERFLY" OR HERBIE'S???? I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO!!!!! BOTH VERSIONS CAUSE ILLPHORIA FOR ME..... VERY BEAUTIFUL SONG, AND IT CAN BE SERVED UP DAMN TASTY BY THE BEST OF THEM!!!!!!
