I’m the proud owner of a 6694. My grandfather bought it on 1983. On day, late in the nineties, he gave it to me without a grand explanation nor ceremony. Shortly after he passed away. Twenty-four years later I still have it, I have revised it several times, polished, it has lost the luminosity of the tritium-activated phosphor (hence the little T's surrounding the word “swiss”). I have other watches, some considered better or cooler, but I always come back to this one as it is the most comfortable, reliable and wonderful.

Bought one for travelling, being uncertain about how time changes affect the date movement. This manual Rolex is nice and basic and will do the job admirably - plus is a bit of a rarity, being discontinued.

Correct. 1210 & 1220 have no date. 1215 (18k bph) and 1225 (21.6k bph) are both the date versions. However, the movement is often stamped with 1210 even though it is 1215

Congratulations! Great choice 🙂
Thanks for the info. It’s definitely a next watch to me 😊❤
Glad you enjoyed our video! :)
It’s my go to for travel, the need for winding becomes real significant 😊
Movement 1215 for the early versions, then 1225. 1215 has 18000 beats per hour, 1225 21600.

I love 'small' watches, but I couldn't handle having to unscrew the crown to wind it every day.
6694 can’t go wrong.. your part of the club like it or not.
