@@juniorjohnson5961 funny because TWC, Gringa, and the boyz are my go to. I think we all just have a similar sense of humor. As well as taste, obviously.
I'm with Christian - this year I bought what I would consider my first luxury watch (Hamilton Interstellar) and it too was to celebrate a successful year, and also to signify entering a new stage of my life. There's something special about wearing a watch that reminds you of good times
I asked my wife to buy me a watch for our 1 year anniversary. I think this should be a common practice as men typically have to buy an expensive engagement ring and get nothing in return. It's 2021 not the 1900s
Yeah, most people don't notice most watches. The only 2 watches in my collection that have gotten noticed from random folks are my 2020 Spaceview and my Tissot T-Complication. They're big, have a lot of wrist presence, and definitely stand out. Nobody ACTUALLY notices a Rolex or anything else unless they're a watch geek, and even then it's actually really hard to identify a watch in the wild.
I particularly love the discussion at 15:00. Made this mistake myself only to learn the hard way that nobody know or cares what brand(s) you wear. No one gives a thought about the name on your watch dial. What brand of shoes you wear. Anything about a woman’s handbag. Etc. It will only lead to frustration if you throw down big money to buy a Rolex, Patek, AP, etc if you think others will be impressed. It will NEVER happen.
5: Thinking you can snipe an 'overlooked/underated' auction watch for cheap. 6: Speculating about which watch you want to get will be "The Best Investment" 🤦 7: Thinking 'In-House' is always better. 🧐
I think the Breitling was alright on your wrist. I have a 16.5cm wrist but it's more flat rather than round so fortunately my 45.5mm Planet Ocean Chronograph still somehow works on it. I bought it in Hong Kong when I lived in Asia and it's connected with lots of nice memories. It is mine and I will never let it go.
I love that Patek, and how it doesn't matter that almost nobody notices what an extraordinary watch it is. You get to enjoy it your self as something like a mini-museum on your wrist of the highest level watch-making craftsmanship and materials can attain. I'll take that over compliments any day.
I started out making the mistake of Swiss or Bust. Decided to get back into watches, and only wanted Swiss mechanical. Got one. Then I got an Orient and a Seiko from Japan and a Vostok from Russia, and looking for a German watch now, and loving Zelos, which is from Singapore. Once I started looking, I realized the country of origin isn't always important.
Excellent first tip. I'm selling my second Speedy, because I love that thing, but on my wrist it just doesn't work! My most comfortable watch is my little Casio f91w. So now I'm saving for the Explorer 36... much better fit. Good vid guys
Totally agree with the relationship with the watch even if you don’t wear it often. I have a 1961 Rolex OP in 14qt gold. It was the first “high end” watch I purchased. I’ve worn it to two of my best friends weddings. I would never sell that watch, it holds such a special place in my heart. Your relationship with a watch means so much more than just owning the watch.
Such a simple, but accurate quote. You may love a watch, but do you love the watch on the wrist or in your life (paraphrasing). It’s so true though. It’s why online purchases are so dangerous if you never tried the watch on, or physically can’t like with some micro brands.
Friends, you are so correct on your first. I have a 7.25 wrist and purchased a Longines Big Eye because abargain priced beautiful chrono. Wore it twice, felt like a brick on my wrist. That's why I will never consider Tudor. Traded the Big Eye for a Carrera and love it.
Could watch you two goofin and chatting about watches all day. I just love the format of your guys’ videos, solid content and commentary between two hilarious friends. Subscribed.
Along with watches, a very time-consuming (and enjoyable) hobby of mine is fast forwarding through Christian’s impressions and movie/show references. The channel that keeps on giving 😁
Curious on these expensive jeans you wear... brand(s)..and if you want to ad in a reply, What do you look for in a pair of jeans and how you tailor them.
Just discovered your channel, very enjoyable, well done. Good advice to buy what you like and don’t be persuaded that watches are an ‘investment’, the market will change at some point and you will need to like your collection whatever arbitrary value is placed on it. At least when the speculators leave the market, enthusiasts can benefit once again.
Does anyone know what size reverso Micheal is wearing in this vid ? Great as always guys. My favorite parts are the back and forth banter, you guys genuinely make me laugh.
Hey Guys! Awesome video as always. Great point about the Chronomat, I have the older 39mm version from Seinfeld, which is a perfect fit. I wish Omega and Breitling would stop making these gargantuan sport watches. I believe the size and thickness of both brands sport models have prevented both companies from eating up, to a greater extent, the available market share Rolex is leaving through unavailability. If you guys are working with Omega, and if it feels right and appropriate, please petition them to make some smaller and thinner models of their sport watches.
I am going to be honest here and say it; most of the watches today are too big! I keep saying it, when you create a watch with a 43mm diameter, what do you expect the lug to lug to be? This is the issue, the diameter sets the watch for failure. I keep hearing that N.America is a big market for swiss watches, hence why the watches are large but you go online and all the wrist shots say the opposite.
I really like the connection between Theo and Harris ;-) but seriously : Christian, have you learnt any words in polish from your not speaking polish on demand friend? :)
Agree fully with point 1: Almost bought my grail watch online but really glad that I rather went toa dealer and tried it on as it didn't work for me at all...
I have the same problem with all the modern Tudor watches, they look amazing and are built really well but for some reason when I buy them I don't use them...
The only thing that kills the Chronomat for me is the date window cutting into the sub dial. I can't stand when they do that 😒 it just looks cheap. Either put it somewhere else or don't put the date and alot brand's are guilty of this. Imop chronographs don't need a date window the dial is already busy enough
No one compliments your watches, but I guarantee they see it. For better or worse, people are conditioned to notice expensive watch brands. When I wear some of my pieces, I see people looking out of the corner of my eye. Thats not why I buy my watches, but it definitely feels good!

I love the Reverso, GSs and Glashutte. A GS has so much to offer, and don't know which model you are referring too, but in comparison with a basic CNC guilloché dial, white, basic hands and case, a GS has so much more to offer. IMO it's not boring at all, in the contrary, it has so much to give and discuss about.
