This concert was on Friday 23th of August 1968 at Borreberg, Bilzen, Belgium. That time The Pretty Things were at the height of their career. Amazing energy during those concerts. Unfortunately they were not very lucky with their management and record company those days, otherwise they would have been far more popular with the general public. Thank you Phil May(†), Dick Taylor, Wally Waller, Jon Povey(†) and John "Twink" Alder for all those beautiful moments and memories!
I SEE FUZZ!!!!! The Pretties on acid, goin' everywhere with that unique groove and never missing a single second, as usual in those Ladbroke Grove days. Every piece of film or tape is priceless.
Simply Stated: Possibly OUR FAVORITE 5:47 Seconds of ENERGY BASED-LIVE/VISUAL ("Back in the Day") Psychedelic Rock n' ROLL......EVER!!.... "Viva Le Pretty Things"🕶🔥
Actually, JP was a GREAT Drummer TOO (As He "Missions" His Way From The Organ To The Kit' , as Drummer Twink "Goes On "Trails"/Jaunt" HERE In The Clip reine'!!) Here's Povey Smashin' The Sticks on Their HOMAGE "KNEELING To The Fire God" From "Alexander" Track (1967)!!🥁🔥 th-cam.com/video/zu_BTqwfMQc/w-d-xo.html
@@groovedohg No, they only played in 1968. Besides this, in August 1969, the band had another leadguitarist (Victor Unitt), because unfortunately Dick Taylor had left the band that year.
@Robert-tv9rq The reason I asked is because there are 2 you tube clips that state 68 and 69. There is a full performance of Bilzen 68 on YT that you have to pay for. My fave era though is the Pete Tolson era. Superb guitarist
@@groovedohg Yes I know, someone made a mistake with dating it 1969. I have this payed Bilzen clip, although it is not the full performance. From the same guy I also have the Copenhagen 1970 concert with Pete Tolson. I have met Pete many times and he was such a very nice person and an amazing talent. So sad, he took his life in 2016.

R.I.P John Povey, the best non-drummer in PT
