- This is Undertale, but Toriel is there for every battle trying to stop me from beating the game. Things get pretty brutal as she attacks and teams up with the other monsters to take me down; can I still beat the game like this?

It's even funnier because at the end of the Ruins, Toriel says something like "go, I will not try to stop you." Which gives me the thought of an alternate dialogue, "Run. I will try to stop you."

@@name-h7x but it is still something to think about! Even if it doesn't makes sense to a degree! Also, you can actually get hit at low health if you intentionally run into the fire!

when I first read the title and saw the thumbnail, I thought it’d be that Toriel is chasing you throughout the entire game and if she catches you you die

I know it would be a nightmare but I think Sans is more fitting for this "I'm gonna bother you your entire journey" thing, maybe he'd be using annoying attacks rather than anything dangerous but still.
Oh we'll work our way up through the bosses and he'll be there eventually...

It's a boss rush where I have all the items in my box; the weakest one was the notebook so I went with that one to start

Seeing Mystic yell SHUT UP at the mad dummy is now what i expected
to bluesheep: i hope you're planning on releasing this whole thing as a mod at some point along with the purple and split soul mechanics. would be fun to mess around with changing soul mechanics, adding an enemy to constantly attack, and other small tweaks you can make while going through this boss rush to see how far you can get. something like the options present in deltaruined kind of come to mind, just a way to tweak your run and change stuff up. maybe in between fights you could get rewarded with items as well, instead of just having a box with all of them? and while this is probably a lot more work, maybe giving some of the non-mercy fights a mercy win condition would make for a fun LV 1 challenge, where you go through the whole gauntlet as a pacifist.
i know a lot of this would probably take some time but it would absolutely be fantastic to see happen. just idea brewing here, though!

I kinda had a similar idea where every boss would behave like undyne. Like you could run from them and they would chase after you and if you run fast enough you could avoid the fight entirely.
