🌻Matching headings is an exercise that basically tests your ability to recognize important as well as unimportant info, and decide where you want to focus your attention. In other words, this is your ability to skim. You’re given roughly 20 minutes to complete each reading passage and unless you’re a reading jedi, these passages are probably not meant to be read word for word :)
🍑 The 4 benefits of honing these skills are:
    - read more efficiently - in terms of time and brain space
    - understand and retain the main points more easily
    - answer questions at a high level of accuracy
    - have ample time to double-check your answers
🫐 The 4 skills covered are:
    1. Prove it: each heading must be proven with evidence from the passage. Just use straight hard facts, no assumptions necessary.
    2. Filler or info?: filler sentences don’t give much information, but rather set up the premises for the author to present his/her idea in a certain way. Once we identify filler sentences, we can pass over them, and focus our attention on info sentences.
    3. Sentence function: recognizing the function of a sentence (is it introducing a new idea? is it support? is it contradiction?) helps determine how much value a sentence can give you, and therefore, whether or not you need to read it to get the main idea.
    4. Simplifying sentences: Sentences are usually made up of main clauses and subordinate clauses. The main clauses are what we’re interested in; in most cases, we can skip over the subordinate clauses as they just present extra information to support the main point presented in the main clause.

This is the most helpful video on this topic on the internet! Thank you, also could you please share the app that you're using on iPad to write notes?

Im glad you found it helpful! I'm currently using Jnotes on an Android tablet, but when I used to note-take on an iPad, I used Goodnotes5! I'd say the two are fairly similar.
