    Pros:
    + great price
+ awesome handling, loads of fun
+ high tech (fuel injection, twinspark, 4valves, all LED)
    + maximum 2,5-2,7l/100km
+ it´s a looker, attracts public, makes a lot of people smile :)
    Cons:
    - some chinese parts lack quality (tyres, spark plugs and caps, chain)
    - child diseases to be expected, but 2 year warranty sorts it (I had some great troubles, but I´m rather unlucky), tighten all screws after purchase :)
    - spare parts delivery takes ages, hard to find stuff for modifications
    - speedo overreads by 13%
    - short service intervals (3´000km)
    - high beam sucks and switches the dims off - not good for nightriding..

I owned a 125 Hi-Bird brand motorcycle made in zongshen (a clone motor found in tons of chinese bikes). Bought for 400$ because it blew head gaskets at 700 miles lol. Turns out the valve clearances were set wrong from the factory. I replaced the gasket and put the valves in proper spec and after that i was impressed with the bike. It was a great motorcycle. Suspension was super nice, brakes were discs and pretty good. I took it offroad a bunch and it did great. Sold it to a friend as his first bike and it still rides perfect years later. The quality for the price on these chinese bikes is great, but the assembly is probably done quickly and not double checked. If i were to buy another chinese made bike, i'd have a once over of some of the important bits before putting too many miles down, but the materials used are really the same quality as what Honda uses for the most part.

Honda Grom is made in Thailand. Can you explain what makes Thailand manufacturing better than Chinese manufacturing?.... It all depends on the quality standards that the brand sets.... I own a TNT 135 is the quality is great!

I run the UK tnt facebook group, we get the 125 version only but still a great bike, more power, fuel capacity, fat bars, better suspension and comfort than the grom, i had 2 of those and prefer this, only things we have changed is spark plugs n caps for ngk versions as the standard ones are poor.

$2,500 is the base price, plus destination, taxes, tags assembly, you're looking at around $3,000 out the door; But even so I think it is a better deal then a grom or Kawasaki.

Benelli always had a good reputation, I'm not a fan of the Chinese but I think I'm going to get the TNT over the Kawi and Honda. I have heard nothing but good about these bikes and for 2500 bucks, we crap, that's a win win! This will be great for my daughters first street bike to learn on and have fun at that!

  • @DonCaraotica1693

An important fact, despite having been bought, Benelli, by a Chinese company, some models that continued to be produced (which are already discontinued) Such as Benelli TNT and TreK 899 and 1130 were designed and produced in Italy and then sent to assemblies in different countries. And I have to say that they were the only models with really thoughtful and interesting designs.
The latest designs I regret to say that they look like an effort to keep the name alive ... Many bikes seem to mix ideas and designs from other brands, such as La Benelli TNT, BN. whichever it is 600 that although it had motor 4 cylinders its aesthetics was almost a complete imitation of the Aprilia Shiver, but with a not very good performance. Or also the Benelli 402s with a design that looks like another imitation of the Ducati XDiavel but with a dwarf engine.
They were good motorcycles, I had a TNT 899 ... I hope in a moment they will have better ideas of design and creativity.

Then what do you call a Grom? Japanese engeneering + Thailand manufacturing = what? ....or Apple... designs in CA, manufactures in China... big LOL too? same thing with Benelli... standards in manufacturing aré quite good even though they aré made in china...

    • @DearMajesty
      @DearMajesty 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

There is no standard in manufacturing haha. Italian engineering can be a bit questionable, especially paired with Chinese manufacturing. Ultimately, it all really depends on the company... I was just going by norms. And the stuff made in Thailand has had some pretty major issues. Just look at Honda's 300 engines....gazillions of grenading engines and then finally a major recall came (still questionable with idiot dealer mechanics...google post recall issues). The 500 engines also had quite a few recalls, but nothing major. Also, it's generally the cheaper motorcycles (under $9k) from Honda that are made in Thailand.
Anyways, bottom line...I'm not harping on the Benelli too much....I'm just a very cautious buyer. The Benelli look sweet, sounds like it has a thumbs up from quite a few journalists, and at its price, I think it's worth taking the risk.

Despite costing more than the grom and z125 when it came out kids were quick to hop on the wagon lol, and lemme tell you I'm already seeing quite a few 2nd hands for sell at a steeply depreciated price for some reason.
