GK and the pips performance was on point! The sketch with Buddy Rich at the beginning with Sid and Imogene was too funny!! Buddy Rich was one of best in business when it came to his drumming skills!! I saw La Bahome when I was in High school, one of my favorites next to La Traviata and Madam Butterfly.
Blast from the past, 1969 - Hollywood Palace 6-25 Sid Caesar & Imogene Coca (co-hosts), Gladys Knight & the Pips, Buddy Rich. RIP - Cid Caesar passed away, today, this Wed. Feb. 12, 2014 - TV comedy writer & old school, vaudeville styled, comedy performer & a comedic genuis - he will be missed.
Such sad news. I thought he would live forever! I've made a playlist of the shows I have on this channel featuring Caesar. Better to remember him with laughter than sadness. th-cam.com/play/PLvfCPBLpeglUBdqy9rSrLIzru8JWyeeAv.html
As I only learned recently, Woody didn't start writing for Caesar until after "Caesar's Hour" had ended. He only wrote for the specials, none of which are in circulation to my eternal frustration.

Yes, thank you so much. :)
Aunt Jenny from the Brady Bunch.
One of Woody Allen's early writing gigs was for Sid Caesar...I wonder if they tossed around the title BULLETS OVER BROADWAY then...
