Now this is what I call GREAT entertainment :)! Thank you Hollywood Palace!
Ahh, the good old days when Hollywood still had some class. We never saw these shows in color as we only had a BW television, but they were so enjoyable, nonetheless. I love seeing these old commercials, too!
I did not know how much I needed this right now. This is great. Commercials and all. Simpler times.
i'd love to know how many people were actually in those audiences. when i was a kid I thought it was huge. now looking at it, i'll bet fifty tops. smoke and mirrors. the building is still there and is a club or restaurant of some sort.
sammy was 42
16:02 - 21:07
Some nights she struggled but there were a lot of great performances at this point in her career also .❤❤❤❤
Judy looks "marvelous"…❤❤❤❤
The quality of everything in these shows was stunning. They came along before I was here but I was addicted to these shows. They did not mess around.
Maestro Mitchell Ayers and the Hollywood Palace Orchestra did a great job backing Judy Carne's spirited vocal.
Cher's outfit is so dumpy - strange. She made up for it later.
Great stuff! I loved 'Batman' growing up; I was 10 when it premeired. Adam West was quite the song and dance man! This may be the closest thing we'll ever see to a 'Batman' musical. Thanks for posting this.
Wow is Bing good!
20:41 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember 'Hollywood Palace' and loved 'Hogan's Heroes'. Amusing appearance here; strange to see the cast of a CBS show on ABC, but 'Hogan' was a Bing Crosby Production!
That looks like Dee Hartford with Dr. Hackenbush...( aka: Miss Icey Knockers)
15:19 Is that the same man who did Mr. Conductor in shining time station?
I dont know if I should see my grandma here... or hot gals... time/recorded footage is a tricky thing LOL
The juggler was the best act in the show!
I was 3 1/2 when this aired. I remember watching all these wonderful shows!
NO WIRE HANGERS!! 😂😂
What a bummer! No sound! Such a great show and it can't be heard!
❤❤❤❤❤
Lance was better than Denny McLain.
Thanks ... Berle was hilarious ...
lance rentzel was convicted of showing his organ to a little girl, i believe in 1970.
Looks like Ed Lauter in the Bayer aspirin commercial starting at 25:19
Michael Jackson the King 👑 ♥️
Joan had terrible stage fright so this live audience must have been a challenge but she was ever the trouper and did a marvelous job all the while looking beautiful too.
Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5? Who's the other five? What a diss to the group.
I'm dying laughing.... those men performing with Joey Heatherton look like total asshats, and are PAINFULLY out of sync with her. What made anyone think she needed them in the first place?
Look at Fred Astaire keeping up at age 67! And heartthrob Herb Alpert. This was a terrific show.
I was 10 when this episode aired…..this is the TV episode that was profiled in the premiere episode of the Jackson 5 cartoon series on ABC….”It All Started With”
Herbie grew up in the Fairfax neighborhood of LA, not far from the Hollywood Palace theater. About 2 1/2 miles as the crow flies. And sorry Nancy Sinatra, but the white go go boots look better on Barrie.
The drugs were definitely in Sammy's dressing room. Ha.
The Candyman Can❤️❤️❤️
Hollywood Place: Thanks, Fantastic Show 😊 My favorite 🤩 Singers, Engelbert Humperdinck, and Gladys Night ,and the Pipes, Love 💗 it!
Saw Judy at The Sahara in Vegas right after this was broadcast. Judy was spectacular!!
I was seven years old and I remember my parents watching this show! I definitely remember Sunny and Cher back then. I never understood why people thought Milton was funny. I guess you had to be a grown-up to understand his humor. 😂
Steve and Eydie= class, elegance and talent. The performers today dress like strippers and thugs and not much talent.
wow.
I feel like this is classy entertainment--they are so well suited to the music and lyrics.
I loved the Hollywood Palace as a child, and I apparently still do. Thank you for posting this video--and thank you for including the commercials. I love these.
vince singing maria is beautiful
Russian dad n New York mom blended / blew his horn in closet practice... Inspired by 🇲🇽 Mexico bull fight, for his 1st hit "RISE", THE HORN part of him. Painting... totem pole sculpture.... Singer... so much talent. Original founder of A & C Records, discovered the Carpenters.
that stunk
The amazing Chita Rivera...beautiful dancer, and such a distinctive voice.
Originally aired Dec 25, 1965 Close to 59 years old when people in the entertainment industry actually had talent
As most people know Crosby produced "Hogan's Heroes", outside of his own specials easily the most successful thing he did in television.
Don't forget BEN CASEY
