    I own a Dell XPS 13 9310 fully loaded for about a year already without any issues at all. Each computer company will have their own issues. Dell laptops are considered some of the best windows laptop available on the market. I highly recommend the XPS line for those that want versatility, amazing design, and overall great performance in a Windows laptop.

      well said. It's just a few lemons on the market that ruins the reputation of the XPS. But I agree, if you get one without any problems, then the XPS is definitely a great laptop.

      @@MensFashionFiles its dell's ignorance to fix issues and they still sell devices even if this can be tested already during production. Bought 9510 2x times. And the speakers are still garbage. I cant use this for music production if a piano sound is distorted. WTF Dell

    is the #2 Crackling Noise a problem of the built-in speaker? or an inherent defect of sound software? if it's just a problem of speaker then I'd be fine using just my headphones instead
    thanks for a great video btw!

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my research, it's caused from the way the manufacturer positioned the speakers inside the laptop so there's no way to fix it. Headphones should work just fine. Thanks for watching!

    We strayed from the Latitudes at work and bought over 20 XPS 13 7390s. The results exceeded my skepticism. We've had significant problems with about a third of them. Some of the problems were fixed by BIOS and driver updates, but glitchy screens and power light error codes are the remainder. Personally, I don't think we're ready to have laptops this thin yet as I've had bad luck with other brands, too. Business laptops need to be well-made and serviceable or cheap enough to where we won't care as much if they break.

  • @audiojunkie5435
    @audiojunkie5435 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thought I'd give an update on my shitty dell experience. Received 3 damaged (dented, scratched and chipped) XPS 9510 is a row, all had the hinge issue. There's about 6 individual issues on top of this including the rattling trackpad, stuttering, insane battery drain, failing fan, uneven palm wrest and more. The person in charge of my system swap ignored me for one month (like others on forums have stated), until I got a bunch of managers (including their own) involved. Finally a team picked up my case and it looked like promise. No, the person I spoke to said that the gap between the keyboard and screen is part of the design (which is likely correct) but also said so is the part where the laptop doesn't stay closed. I sent them this video and showed where yours stays closed and they didn't really know what to say and defaulted to "our products team has said it's a part of the design". The whole experience has been messed up and they're just refunding me now because that's the easier method. This whole fiasco has lasted almost 2 and a half months now. Crazy right?

    I purchased an XPS 9500 in May 2020. We have been working with Dell since the summer to fix the brightness control issue. I have spent over 12 hours on the phone with tech support tryig to resolve this problem. They reset Windows. Nope! They reinstalled Windows. Nope! They updated drivers. Nope! They replaced the UHD screen and the keyboard. Nope! They then said they would send an imaged hard drive and motherboard and have them installed. They did that yesterday. Guess what? The hard drive was blank. So, now I have a computer on which we couldn't adjust the brightness. Now we have a computer that doesn't do anything. They wanted me to spend 1-2 hours downloading Windows on another computer and then transfer that to the new computer and then reinstall all of the other software that it came with. I suspect that would have taken a couple more hours at least. i asked them to do what they said they would do, which was to send and install an imaged hard drive. i have spent too much time trying to fix this defective product already. I have purchased Dell computers for years and never had such a horrible experience.

    The solution for the audio cracking is uninstall the driver for all the audio except the microphone. When uninstalling click the checkbox to fully delete the driver so that it can redownload it. I am a dell Certified Technician I've done this a bunch of times and it always fixed the problem.

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MensFashionFiles no the Mother board and the speaker do not interfere with each other and the hold down for the speaker usually have a rubber gromit for vibration. I have had this problem with my own laptops. Sometimes the windows update can even stop it from working and show no speakers.

      Nope. It was claimed that a BIOS update released a few years ago would resolve the issue, but it didn't for me. Great laptop but it's impossible to touch type on unless I use an external keyboard, and that kinda defeats the purpose of having a portable computer.

      @@daehttub7737
      That's never been the case for me. I have no idea what causes it, but my theory is that the battery expands after a few years of use and probably puts stress on the keyboard controller. Who knows if that's the case, but I have heard of others doing full keyboard replacements and that solving their issue. I have a replacement keyboard I ordered for it from eBay, so if an upgrade to Windows 11 doesn't solve the issue, I'll be taking this sucker apart and replacing the keyboard.

    • @Flashback_Jack
      @Flashback_Jack ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daehttub7737
      Finally figured out what the cause of it is. There's a removable keyboard controller under the battery that I think gets destroyed by the heat from the battery. The controller is about the size of a stick of gum and costs around $15 USD. Replace that and get some thermal pads for the chips on the board so the battery doesn't heat the thing up as much and you should be good. If you need the part number, let me know and I'll dig it up.

However the screen freezes and locks all control until you press the fingerprint/power button for 30-40 seconds until the display blinks and goes back to normal. I've just received my second one. I've had 4 XPS laptops (2x 9500 and 2x 9510). The first 9510 had the hinge issue and crackly speakers. The 2nd has... a loose trackpad (probably the worst fitting i've seen), the hinge issue and it's been dropped and damaged at the factory but still sent out. Dell pisses me off with their quality control. 4 laptops and they've all been fucked :')
