Is incredible how maxwell shadow prison can cheese s ton of bosses like bee queen, dlfy (you dont even need walls because she cant summon lavae), twins and eye of terror (wich usually are a pain in the ass but now they cant even charge) and so on.
This boss is so weird to me honestly. The fight itself is kinda whatever. Just walk left or right when he swipes and wait for him to get tired. And the drops are really underwhelming. From what I've heard, the headwear is a thulecite crown with no invincibility bubble, and the armor is a night armor with marble suit durability which, sounds nice, till you realize the only characters who can really use it to it's fullest are Wanda and Max, since they also drain your sanity. So why not just use thulecite armor? You went to ruins for a pick/axe, so you already found it and most likely crafted some. Unless they add in more ways to get pure horrors and dread stones, I don't see a reason to fight this boss. But who knows? This could be the start of another era of updates for DST, like the Return Of Them branch, just now it's centered around pure horrors and dread stone
I think it's much better the new dreadstone armor. They regenerate over time at cost of sanity. They are a long therm investment because you can only make one helm for example and regenerate it at no sanity cost standing at a star, gloomer or a sisturn and you won't break it, while, the thulecite armor will sooner or later break with the use. It's like a upgraded eye mask wich some people dont like because they fear to break it but if you use it correctly like me with practice is like an infinite football helmet. Regenerating it is easy with red caps, monster meat or even rot since it grabs also negative food values.
I play Maxwell and I can say this isn't hell easy. I can't catch this Nightmare Pig into cage since he's running so fast and with a swing+fist he kills me easily... And I can't understand how to kite his attacks properly. So that's skill, not cheese.
I haven't played DST for quite some time now, and also this is from beta, so things might work out differently. But try casting the cage in front of him so that he will run into the area of effect. The spell effect lasts for quite some time, so you should be able to catch him. If not, I suggest fight the old-fashioned way until he is stunted, then proceed to use the cage spell.
@@POOH_LY I finally managed to kill him and with some practise I was also able to imprison him. So I assume your strategy is still viable. However since it's difficult to me to maintain cage and sanity at once, I simply call for 5 duelists and fight Nightmare Pig by kiting. I also found wearing magiluminacense much during this fight useful, since he likes to run away out from star collar's starts.
Imagine being freed just to be caged again 3 seconds after.

8 months after, theres no 3rd phase in him, i defeated him with wanda, he made sure i had a hard time, HE DID NOT DID HIS PUNCHES ON ME AT ALL.
