I think this is the only time we have seen the FFFFFUUUUU Clock. Nice touch. He did mention that this was a PFNG mission tho, but common sense says..."Look a chopper to get us the hell out of here, get in!" Alpha saw a chopper and said, "Look at all the dust it's making. I hope my hair is ok."
I came back to this to watch it again, it's one of my favourite videos, just showing how mental this can be, and well, the fuckups. it's funny, and great.
First of all: thank you for your service. Second: I know a few Army and Navy Helo pilots and they explained that contour flying (extremely low flying) was something that they don't do too much of in recent operations, but it is reserved as an "evasive maneuver" or a method to avoid detection. More commonly though they follow the tactics you described as for the most part they don't have to deal with possible air threats. Since Arma has air threats the contour flying is a standard maneuver.
The whole section trying to retrieve and patch up the downed pilots definitely was my favourite this time. Very enjoyable video all in all; I always love to see transport helo action, especially with a pilot that knows what he's doing. Would love to see more of that.
Aww...Poor Scuba, was a good gunner as well. And I love that smug laugh you give when the other chopper pilot says he has to return to base because of the tail rotor.
Sir, this was an amazing piece of flying and, with a small exception towards the end, fantastic teamwork. I applaud your decision to tough it out and fly without a tail-rotor for the entire mission. That was exceedingly manly.
Man, Dslyecxi, you're usually so level-headed and calm, it makes it damned entertaining and hilarious listening to you cuss those guys out for being completely herp-derp-tastic.
After reading the description, I had a disappointing and tragic ending playing through my head and was eagerly awaiting the demise of everyone when the second chopper came into land. Then I remembered the rage that commenced just moments before. I now know how to piss off every one of my friends that like to pilot.
By 30 mins in Dslyecxi I nearly audibly said what I was pretty much shouting in my head "fuel state, FUEL STATE!" By 32 mins, the FUBAR situation was making me go "god I wish I were there". Would really love that kind of challenge in ARMA, and share with like-minded folk. By the end of the ffffuu timer, my head was firmly in my hands, and was nearing the desk. And by the ending you reaffirmed how awesome it all is. Dont stop the awesome, Dslyecxi
25:39 I did that exact same laugh at the same time. Not because I would be able to handle a black hawk with rotor issues but because you had been kicking ass all mission with the exact same problem.
Don't you love that, When you try to evac people but theres that one guy your waiting for that stands still for like 3 seconds. During all that your being shot at, Like SERIOUSLY.
does the helicopter take damage over time if parts are damaged. do the get worse from constant flight and no repairs? or only when they are shot at?. awesome vid i genuinly felt bad when Scuba died
Man, he's an insanely good pilot... He started using the lack of ATRQ to turn after a while... Ended up giving his gunner a perfect shot doing it, too...
That was some good stuff man. Though Dslyecxi yelling was funny as heck, my favriote part was when Barman got shot up. Dslyecxi did a double take left and said "Shit". Great stuff.
I've never played the Arma series so please forgive me my lack of knowledge, but is the green bar at the top right of your piloting screen a fuel or a health bar for the chopper ? ^^ Xeno
Welcome to Dslyecxi Heli-Transport Services. As you can see from that rather smooth landing. We have a fucked up tail rotor. So please buckle up, please keep all seats and trails in the upright position, secure all firearms, and keep all arms and legs inside the Helicopter at all times through the trip. As we are the most badass Heli-Transport in this whole Operation. Thank you for flying and stick it to the enemy.
Totally with you bro, I fly transport in Arma 3 atm. "Chopper sitting on the ground right next to you guys with enemy fire zinging over my rotors, just take your time getting in...". I've also started abducting the slowpokes during infill missions and taking them with me to the next transport location. I think 10 seconds is more than a reasonable amount of time =P
i love this video and i died laughing when Dslyexi was yelling at Alpha. what really killed me when he used the Dethklok guitar senosor. great fucking video!!!!
You did so well to make it in a blackhawk that messed up, seriously, uber Kudos to you for that But that bit with Alpha, oh god that made my day "ARE YOU F*CKING SIGHT-SEEING OR SOMETHING, GET THE F*CK IN!!!" channel classic.
They call it a military simulator but it is a game. You can find it on Steam as well as many other places that sell PC games. It is a PC-only game, not available on any other console.
I absolutely love this video, Dslyecxi. Amazing piloting skills, the laugh at 25:39, awesome and certainly justified "rage" including the choice of censorship effects and the smilies ;)
Hey Dslyecxi, one thing I'm wondering, do you fly with mouse&keyboard, or with a joystick? I never see your chopper rock and and forth lightly because you have to keep moving your mouse to keep the nose down enough for forward momentum?
Well I've never played ArmA, so I don't know of the controls are much different, but I find it much easier to use a joystick to fly in other games. If you're using a keyboard, you're either pressing down a key or you're not. A joystick allows for more subtle movements. Once again, I don't know if this is the same in ArmA as it is in other games, but a joystick will let you do continuous movements that you can't do with a mouse without running out of mouse pad. Example, loops.
The answer to your question is yes. ARMA II and Operation Arrowhead are an FPS/TPS game/military simulator, with a very hardcore community who make amazing stuff like this. The game itself can be ruthless, though.
OMG, the stories that happen in this game... This is probably the most impressive wargame ever. Shame on me for only being introduced to this through Day Z.
I really want to play this now, reminds me of way back on Chromehounds when I had a great group of guys that called out engagements and headings properly and could read a map =p I miss pulling off organized missions, though obviously a giant lumbering mech is a bit different from a Blackhawk haha
That's true. Laghman Province. didn't real have any anti-air threat so the pilots needn't worry. Though with conventional warfare I'm not sure, since I joined the military in 2009 and they're mostly teaching asymmetrical/unconventional warfare, since it's assuming that we'll mostly be involved in low-level conflict for a while.
"I am a strong, independent black hawk."
*Dslyecxi* : "you have one BRDM south west of the air field, uh, prohibiting us from landing"
*airfield* : "can you land?"
I just love how tactical they are :D It makes me happy that a team can cooperate to clear objectives. Good Job ShackTac
25:40 I love how you chuckle when the other pilot is complaining about mild tail spin.
"He may be dead..."
"Yup.. he's dead."
"Whelp, that's for the effort."
"I'm a strong, independent Blackhawk! I don't need to warn!"
Damn near died from laughter!!!!
pilot: He may be dead.
Medic: Yep he dead!
very blunt medic made me laugh
I came back to this to watch it again, it's one of my favourite videos, just showing how mental this can be, and well, the fuckups. it's funny, and great.
"Helos, this is Alpha 2. I think everybody's dead..."
Gave me a hearty chuckle.
I seriously love the videos you and Killroy do. All the little unplanned hiccups mid mission make them interesting to watch.
First of all: thank you for your service.

Would love to see more of that.
that double look at 23:22 was awesome. Total immersion.
I loled when you lifted off after dropping the medic for the heli pilots and you look over to your gunner and he is face down on the door.
Aww...Poor Scuba, was a good gunner as well.
And I love that smug laugh you give when the other chopper pilot says he has to return to base because of the tail rotor.

That chuckle at 25:40 xD
23:16 “Ah Fuck...... fuck”. Funniest thing I’ve seen all day
Man, Dslyecxi, you're usually so level-headed and calm, it makes it damned entertaining and hilarious listening to you cuss those guys out for being completely herp-derp-tastic.

Funnier than Dyslecxi actually shouting was when he turned to look at Scuba and he was slouched there. Could tell his face irl was like, "well, shit."
By 30 mins in Dslyecxi I nearly audibly said what I was pretty much shouting in my head "fuel state, FUEL STATE!"

This was fun to watch. I really enjoy videos where you are the pilot! Great!!!
Made me chuckle when you were saying "You think that was close? I'll show you fucking close!"
It's scary how intense this game is, I was freaking out when alpha was just standing there
the guy who talked about his engine failing gave us a really good landing there
I love that. Going into a hot LZ with a shot up bird and bingo fuel, medic gets away but gunner takes a hit. Thats good stuff. Keep it coming.
25:39 I did that exact same laugh at the same time. Not because I would be able to handle a black hawk with rotor issues but because you had been kicking ass all mission with the exact same problem.
Some nice flying there! Thanks for sharing!
5:19 "That was close", "That was close?", "Wanna see close I can show you close." lol
Now this is something i like to see, someone getting properly shut down, in a informative and non imflammatory way. Hats of to you
23:00 You can see the Silhouette of the Gunner getting shot.
Marshall Thompson bless that gunner. made the ultimate sacrifice for these pFNGs
Beautiful scene
The tension is so real, that's what I live about arma, can't wait to get into some of these big missions
"We're takin' him to the beach to do some medical procedures" - Dslyexci
Don't you love that, When you try to evac people but theres that one guy your waiting for that stands still for like 3 seconds. During all that your being shot at, Like SERIOUSLY.
3 seconds? That FU timer was a bit more XD
Laughed so hard at your rage - you're usually so composed. Thanks for showing that, many would edit it out.
This is the most intense video of arma 2 game play i have watch in years!
Keep up the good work man!
25.38 that laugh you can tell exactly what he is thinking
That's fair enough, I think I will have a try with you shacktacers because I very much enjoy UO. Do you fly with a joystick or mouse?
Dslyecxi is so badass when he cusses his vocal cords play an epic electric guitar rift.
does the helicopter take damage over time if parts are damaged. do the get worse from constant flight and no repairs? or only when they are shot at?. awesome vid i genuinly felt bad when Scuba died
If you heard his passengers said: "good thing you did a video on this", means that the video was already finished and out when this took place.
Man, he's an insanely good pilot... He started using the lack of ATRQ to turn after a while... Ended up giving his gunner a perfect shot doing it, too...
24:45 "He maybe dead." "Yepppp. He's dead."
Ive been watching Shack Tac vids since before ArmA 2 came out but sweet jesus I think 36:15 is one of the greatest moments ive seen of the group.
This is one of the best videos of Arma gameplay I've ever seen
Dslyecxi I loved the black and white speed up instead of just cutting it out, If you'd do that more it would be amazing!

I'm loving the end line there, "Remember... we have to tell their story!" :')
between 5:10 and 5:20 I had the Jurassic Park theme playing in my head lol
Power that you hold is unspeakable
May i ask if you use a joy stick or are you just that good to make your flight that smooth
That rage was beautiful.
Totally with you bro, I fly transport in Arma 3 atm. "Chopper sitting on the ground right next to you guys with enemy fire zinging over my rotors, just take your time getting in...". That part with alpha had me yelling at the screen for you man.
i like the part when you said "are you fucking sightseeing"
GJ on those BRDM's, I don't think I have ever seen these miniguns on the Blackhawk being used for anything useful before.
i love this video and i died laughing when Dslyexi was yelling at Alpha. what really killed me when he used the Dethklok guitar senosor. great fucking video!!!!

"ARE YOU F*CKING SIGHT-SEEING OR SOMETHING, GET THE F*CK IN!!!"
channel classic.
You dusting off, looking back and you door gunner is slumped...that was subtly epic if that makes any sense
36:16 , the whole scene made me laugh to tears.
They call it a military simulator but it is a game. You can find it on Steam as well as many other places that sell PC games. It is a PC-only game, not available on any other console.
Why have I never watched videos of this game before, it's freakin amazing
I lol'd at the rage, I'd have been yelling too.
I absolutely love this video, Dslyecxi.
Amazing piloting skills, the laugh at 25:39, awesome and certainly justified "rage" including the choice of censorship effects and the smilies ;)
Glad to see you went with the 16:10 ratio. My monitor might be 16:9, but I much prefer seeing all of the game.
"Yep he's dead!" lmao
Hey Dslyecxi, one thing I'm wondering, do you fly with mouse&keyboard, or with a joystick? I never see your chopper rock and and forth lightly because you have to keep moving your mouse to keep the nose down enough for forward momentum?
That was incredible! Great gameplay! Have you ever had a session flying with the United Operations community?
Well I've never played ArmA, so I don't know of the controls are much different, but I find it much easier to use a joystick to fly in other games. That was an insane amount of causalities haha
I really want to play this now, reminds me of way back on Chromehounds when I had a great group of guys that called out engagements and headings properly and could read a map =p
I miss pulling off organized missions, though obviously a giant lumbering mech is a bit different from a Blackhawk haha
there is a un-offical sequal beiung made called M.A.V. out on steam greenlight now.
***** Holy shit I didn't know that, this is awesome! Thanks man
oh man chromehounds was the shit, it's too bad the servers got shut down
"Welcome to Dslyecxi Airlines, where we don't need a functioning helicopter to do our job."
"Dyslecxi Air, We don't need a fucking functioning helicopter to do our job"
This is the most intense video I have ever watched. Absolutely amazing
XD
Fun mission to watch...bet it was fun to play. 23:19 "Ah fuck.." Gunner down!
R.I.P. 2 Platoon Medic. Thou shall be missed.
24:48 "Yuuuup, he's dead." hahahah
love it how every one got there helicopter broke but not yours lol
That perfect double take at 23:19 ;_;
23:16 made me sad and lol at the same time
16:37 In the military you need to have mind powers.
That's true. Laghman Province. didn't real have any anti-air threat so the pilots needn't worry. "I'm a strong, independent Blackhawk!"
I lost my shit.
Holy shit I was screaming at my monitor. Imagine Dslyecxi's rage if that time on station caused them to lose engines or otherwise get shot down. :P
8:40 the "what?!" from one of the soldiers XD
25:30 is this what prompted the "Art of Flight Ep2 - Tailrotor Loss" video? :)
Put him in his place, like a sir! Thank you for your service!
Oh shit, I never noticed the PAPI's before. Neat.
Really good video, emotional moment at 23:33
that place was the fkin barmuta triangle of death man
Man, these vids, this community, fucking great. Love watching these Dslyecxi, keep up the sweet work
That Alpha 2 soldier at the end sounded like Caboose.
I'm sorry if you already answered this question anytime before, but why most of the missions you play/record are in Sahrani now?
