Art Murder If there were dragons the size of 'planets' on Saturn, they would have strong enough of a gravitational pull to cause Saturn to wobble significantly, which we would easily see with a basic telescope. *drops mic*
Thats true because aliens think we are aliens and we do the same calling them aliens when its actually species, humans are just a species same with other living things
Derrick Waters for about 20 years my best friend used to sweat that's what it was. We'd have huge conversations for hours and hours discussing it's possibilities. Curious anyways. Glad you mentioned it and reminded me of that theory.
Wow, why would they travel back in time? I guess maybe they abduct people to study the bodies of ancient humans, but playing with time is dangerous. What if you dissect your own grandpa...what if you kill the human that's a direct ancestor to the guy that invented time travel.
"Life is like a..." Trace Dominguez interrupts and says, "a box of chocolates" I love you man, you just made my day. You can't get enough of Forrest Gump references. Keep up the good work!
1) I think i'd love to sit and have a conversation with trace. dude you're intelligent and I think you'd be a fun dude. 2) Keep this show going, I really love it.
Personally I think life originated in the seas. Volcanic fissures at the bottom of the ocean could have created an intricate stew of chemicals which repeated trillions upon trillions of times could have lead to a sustainable origin of life. In fact I think that new life is being created right now because that process never ended.
If Panspermia is right, whether intentional or coincidental, there is a possibility that there is life out there that is at least similar to ours, and intelligent beings that would be easier to communicate with exist (as opposed to completely different beings), and that's exciting, however I still prefer the theory that life sparked on Earth originally. (However now that I think about it, panspermia seems more reasonable simply because of the odds).
I love topics like this, but I have very little attention span. I believe if you do something similar to what Test Tube News does, with pretty visuals, it will attract my attention and maybe others to watch it. Please, no hate!
personally i beleve the universe is very supportive of life, every solar system is likely to have it. as for the fermi paradox, you have to keep in mind scale, and the rarity of the jump to inteligence I think it is much more likely that "humans" were created on this planet from half alien half native primate. that is where the striking pysiological difference between us, and the other primates on this planet, our shoulders are completely different, we have thicker skin on front, they have thicker on back, our 2 fused cromozomes, etc etc, and that the decendants of the primate we were bred with, are the hominoids, bigfoot, yeti, etc I think our understanding of 10K + years ago is mostly wrong. we like to imagine the earth as a a steady uphill of progression, and uphill slope, and we understand that there have been cataclymic events, but we fail to understand the magnatude of past events, we don't even know about most of them. A few years ago, I thought to myself that life may have originated on an asteroid that hit our planet (either intentionally or unintentionally) and now I find out its a theory! Cool.
In English the meaning of the name Adam is: Of the red earth. Earth simply means ground or soil. It’s called ‘terra’ in Portuguese, ‘dünya’ in Turkish and ‘aarde’ in Dutch, just to name a few with their own etymology. Now take the meaning of Adam, Red Earth. Then consider what they mentioned in this video. Are we from Mars? Maybe. "Cosmic impacts that once bombed Mars might have sent temperatures skyrocketing on the Red Planet in ancient times, enough to set warming of the surface on a runaway course, researchers say. According to scientists, these findings could potentially help explain how this cold, dry world might have once sustained liquid water and conditions potentially friendly for *life*." www.space.com/15887-mars-asteroid-impact-greenhouse-effect.html The mention of Adam, bleed into the ideas of religion. As I've argued many times with theist. Your God may be just an advanced being who came to help, assist. Since our intelligence was so low, the way the alien beings communicated was dumbed down. I argue that if they themselves were so advanced, they should have stayed and teach us. But as you see now, there is no clear proof. Or is it? We have many people on this planet that discover and create phenomenal things. I believe that down the line somewhere, the advanced beings mated. Leaving some form of assistance. Now of course there are those of us who rather believe in the idea of a God instead of searching for answers. I believe those of us who drop those notions very quickly are the descendants of the advanced ones.
+Immanuel M. Eames Theres also a theory that two civilizations had an a major nuclear war on mars and sent some of the people (us) to another planet to survive an keep the race going which is very convincing if you think about how bad the environment is in mars.
+Immanuel M. Eames Wouldn't that kill the whole evolution concept? And anyway, if you are using the name Adam as an argument that would instantly make you give credit to religious books, which would ultimately kill the idea that we are aliens. You are confusing me man.. In a way, yes God is a far more advanced being that helped humanity, or even created it , according to religion. But in a religious view God is not an alien, since he's everywhere and all. This theory of yours is really confusing, you are taking what suits your theory from religious book yet from what I understand, you do not believe in any religion and at the same time you are debunking macroevolution. Cause if Adam is a man and we are descendants of him it skips the whole pre-ape period. A dead give away that humans come from earth is that we are 65% water which simply wouldn't work on Mars or give any room for a theory that we come from it.
I really enjoyed this two person dialogue this week had, I really hope they incorporate it in farther episodes as well as do more astronomical topics again in the future
Love this smooth save: ( I'm paraphrasing ) "There could very well could be pieces of Earth on Mars" "Well we havent really been looking" "Well we have.." "For that long" Love it.
What if life in the universe died off and we are the end and the beginning.Say a level 3 or generally more advanced civilization(s) planted life here and made sure it could survive in order for it to spread through space again. We could be the chosen species to potentially spread life.Just a little hypothesis I thought of.
Father Knows Best, Trace! Don't forget that Nobel prize winner, Francis Crick (of the famous Crick and Watson who discovered the double helix) also has supported Directed Panspermia theory.
How can they say that there are all of the ingredients to make life if we can't make it ourselves, there are still parts on the creation we are still missing
In your video you said that using the light curve you could tell what kind of atmosphere a planet would have. How? How many things can you measure on a passing planet and is it possible that we exclude a portion of planets because they are too small and therefore don't register a noticeable dimness when they pass? just curious. awesome show btw.
Off topic but still cool,Ghengis Kahn (probably spelled wrong) carried a sword called the Sword of Mars that was supposed to have been made from a meteor. Might be wrong about the war Lord but not the sword probably coincidence but still cool.
Humans may remain of current state if we'll not discover the infinite and free source of energy and supercomputers that accelerate our evolution in technology. If we rely on fossil based energy we can't move ahead. The contentions and conflict between nations may will end if all mankind can access the free energy, not being control by corporations that make us slaves that create social hierarchies. No more war and poverty, we are just focus on improving technologies and reach the stars to find out our family tree of origin.
Please do something behind medication or the first patient to be successfully treated with either medication or surgery. I'm s nursing student and I find pharmacology interesting. Thanks x.
Its a nice theory but the question still remains just alters a little ...how did the first self replicating molecule came into being...Which is a much harder question...
As this is a science show, I have to ask: "Are you guys using the word theory in the correct context when you were referring to the alleged bacteria from Mars?" I ask because when he says "there's lots of theories going around about this" and he said this a few times in this video. From a scientific definition perspective, 'Theory' is the not a guess, nor a hunch. Those could be considered hypothesis'. A theory is a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations.2 It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It's as close to proven as anything in science can be. So how can there be multiple theories going around about this subject?
I think life is the sum of panspermia, entropy of space and its system and also a primordial soup, all different processes for life making anywhere in the cosmos
It's also possible that there has been panspermia and bio soup de la life. There's many species yet to be discovered in odd corners of the earth. We could have some aliens living here now and not found them yet. Or have found them just not realized that they're not on our local tree of life yet. Just a thought ;)
Good luck surviving the blast out of your original planet, then surviving potentially vast years in space with no air and extreme temperatures, then surviving a fiery entrance into earth, then surviving and multiplying in whatever habitat you land.
Bacteria are tough fuckers. We've actually tested this theory before by attaching bacteria colonies to the outside of a space shuttle and they came back completely fine.
Poll for my fellow TH-camrs: if at some point in the future of our species we considered implanting some of our genetic material onto an asteroid or some form of satellite, with the purpose of having it possibly crash into another planet to spark the formation of life elsewhere in the galaxy, would that be a moral blunder or a good thing to do? In other words, would it be 'right' for us to start spreading our genetic material throughout the galaxy in that way?
+Veridian It's all dependent on the people committing to the task. If you do it with good intentions, that's great. If you do it with the intent to harm a species by using a disease they would not have resistance to, not so great. So if you were to launch material that wasn't pure at a planet where you knew there was already life, that would be a bad thing.
Just like how flowers/trees spread. Nature finds a way because whether it's on earth or in space the universe works the same way, so maybe it's the way the universe pollonates.
Hey i think that would be interesting that you make a analisis of the nibiru or annunnaki theory, its very panspermia like theory and i think maybe it is something that kinda complements the evolution theory..... idk is very interesting to think about and i think that a analisis coming from you guys woul be even more interesting :)
the fact that we're living in multi dimensional world, and just like 2-D creature understand 3 -D. it could be that alien are multi dimensional, but we can't just see them because we are just 3d creature
I have a question.... If we traveled to earth on a asteroid, as microbes....wouldn't we naturally, through the course of originally surviving in space be able to survive in space!?!?
Good question, but as we evolve, we sometimes lose the ability to do certain things prior to our new adaptability. Such as: breathing underwater, losing most of our hair (stuff we could do or had before), etc.. Sorry for the late response, I was 12 at the time lol 👌🏿
+Pink Program i dont think he understands you are saying that that matter could of made its way to another planet that can support life, and the life flourished.
great job Trace, would appreciate if you would like to do an episode on humans being aliens from tthe point of view of religion, like Hinduism, or or any other pagan religions?
We should stop sending drones because if the microbes or the 'something' evolves it would call the rovers 'gods', depending if they're that intelligent...
Let's do that experiment ourselves! Find a planet or moon in our solar system were we know life does not exist. Send some hardy life there. Then we just sit back and observe its evolution. It might change that celestial body dramasticly. I mean life has had pretty big impacts on earths climate. Imagine what it could do to Europa, or Mars?
I think we should spread life everywhere there is no life. Earth should survive beyond it's boundaries. It's our biological imperative to spread everywhere. Life needs to survive.
So wait a second, if the theory that life came from rocks from other planets turned out to be true, would that imply that evolution theory is wrong? Or does the theory hypothesize that ALL life came to Earth, then evolution of all the different species of life began. And the question I have, at what point did this asteroid strike? Before? Or after the dinosaurs
how crazy would it be if we found earth organisms on another planet, like dinosars, or monekeys, or even humans, with diffrant culture, evolved a bit diffrantly, nad such.
Dark Mage okay I have to be more blunt I guess. RETARDED ANSWER FOR A RETARDED QUESTION. There is nooo fucking way that aliens are so identical to humans that you couldnt tell one from another at the first glance.
Dragons the size of planets live in the atmosphere of Saturn
They eat moons for some reason, and the rings are their crumbs.
*Prove me wrong.*
Bcuz gawd!!!!!
Prove yourself right.
Art Murder Actually you *are* wrong. The dragons come from Jupiter, they just vacation on Saturn.
The Batman Only in July though, cus its too cold to go on vacation any other month of the year.
Art Murder If there were dragons the size of 'planets' on Saturn, they would have strong enough of a gravitational pull to cause Saturn to wobble significantly, which we would easily see with a basic telescope. *drops mic*
i think we should actively "contaminate" other planets and spread life around
Spind Jesus fucking christ
***** we brought them there we can take them out
ashley beaumont the closest habitable planet is 400 ligth years away though
hagala thekid wbu ice moons?
ashley beaumont instead of contamianting planets lets get a deathstar and blow every thing up!
I live with a bunch of Aliens.
***** Like Worf.
***** Do you live near the Mexican border?
AndyBar97 XD
***** You wanted to join Starfleet, it's nobody's fault but your own.
+Jean-Luc Picard the picture fits perfectly :D
Humans are alien to the aliens.
Thats true because aliens think we are aliens and we do the same calling them aliens when its actually species, humans are just a species same with other living things
Lol true
Would if they were the ones that created us and they are the ones we call God and there space ship is heaven?
+INFINITE very true
+INFINITE God does not exist
You guys really need to work on your sound levels, I have to turn my volume way up to hear some videos.
Qienna X do you always complain like this?
Assholes complain, I don't Ethan Cisar
the guy who likes his potato chips lightly salted - You're complaining about that person complaining.
I guess you don't know the difference between complaining and asking a question. A post full of dumbasses ahaha William Beezley
the guy who likes his potato chips lightly salted - "Complaining - express dissatisfaction or annoyance about a state of affairs or an event" K
Aliens are just future humans traveling back in time.
I agree! Scientist say humans will evolve and have larger eyes in the future. And Grey Aliens have big eyes too. Maybe human skin will turn grey too.
If humans were nocturnal, we would be pale though...
Derrick Waters for about 20 years my best friend used to sweat that's what it was. We'd have huge conversations for hours and hours discussing it's possibilities. Curious anyways. Glad you mentioned it and reminded me of that theory.

Humans: I wonder if we could find aliens,
Aliens:I wonder if we could find Other Life
"Life is like a..." Trace Dominguez interrupts and says, "a box of chocolates" I love you man, you just made my day. You can't get enough of Forrest Gump references. Keep up the good work!
MrWhataboss23 Life is like a box of chocolates, it doesn't last as long for fat people.
we are a reality tv show for aliens
+wowcat South Park did an episode with this concept... season 7 I think... it was called ''Cancelled''
+Diego Slice oh i remember that episode XD
they must get a kickut of all the dam wars,.....wonder if child poverty/starvation entertains them?
;)
funny :)
1) I think i'd love to sit and have a conversation with trace. dude you're intelligent and I think you'd be a fun dude.
2) Keep this show going, I really love it.
Curtis Frost thanks for both! if you're coming to VidCon you can say hi :D
Trace Dominguez Here's a sad thought for you Trace, what if no other civilization in our Galaxy survived past type 1 and we're the last?
The Batman Mathematically that is highly improbable.
Lamunub45 That is a valid point, but an improbability doesn't rule out the possibility.
The Batman oh man, that would be crazy. Look up "The Great Filter"
Best week of TestTube+ yet
we should take a chunk of earth and collide it with mars
Personally I think life originated in the seas. Volcanic fissures at the bottom of the ocean could have created an intricate stew of chemicals which repeated trillions upon trillions of times could have lead to a sustainable origin of life. In fact I think that new life is being created right now because that process never ended.

personally i beleve the universe is very supportive of life, every solar system is likely to have it. as for the fermi paradox, you have to keep in mind scale, and the rarity of the jump to inteligence
I think it is much more likely that "humans" were created on this planet from half alien half native primate. that is where the striking pysiological difference between us, and the other primates on this planet, our shoulders are completely different, we have thicker skin on front, they have thicker on back, our 2 fused cromozomes, etc etc, and that the decendants of the primate we were bred with, are the hominoids, bigfoot, yeti, etc
I think our understanding of 10K + years ago is mostly wrong. we like to imagine the earth as a a steady uphill of progression, and uphill slope, and we understand that there have been cataclymic events, but we fail to understand the magnatude of past events, we don't even know about most of them.

Wow I didn't know humans are the only living things on Earth.
"look it up it's on Google" best line in the whole series
If I was an alien that had the ability to travel the universe I would find it my duty to seed other planets that's capable of supporting life.

are you guys ever gonna have another host or is this like just a trace thing?
It is believed that the plankton on the space station might have come from an off planet source and not Earth.
How can they say that there are all of the ingredients to make life if we can't make it ourselves, there are still parts on the creation we are still missing
You can make life it's called reproducing but you probably mean creating an original species
Maybe it's the human race's goal to seed other planets with life? Like the ancients/gatebuilders in stargate SG-1 did
Liam Geoghegan maybe not goal but destiny possibly

cool
Mushroom spores would do just fine in space.
The one you call god was an alien all those powers yo
well we can't really be considered aliens if everything alive is alien. lol
a tricky question. so many ways to spark life on earth. I guess to answer this, the evolution of life would 1st need to be deciphered.
THIS AIN'T A THEORY. IT'S A FACT!
the fact that we're living in multi dimensional world, and just like 2-D creature understand 3 -D. it could be that alien are multi dimensional, but we can't just see them because we are just 3d creature
Alien beings on Earth? Don't be crazy! (They're on to us, stop phase 7 immediately)
I know right!
(MOVE TO PHASE SIX)

I have a question.... If we traveled to earth on a asteroid, as microbes....wouldn't we naturally, through the course of originally surviving in space be able to survive in space!?!?
Good question, but as we evolve, we sometimes lose the ability to do certain things prior to our new adaptability. Such as: breathing underwater, losing most of our hair (stuff we could do or had before), etc.. Sorry for the late response, I was 12 at the time lol 👌🏿
7:50 Earth is a Petri Dish, than.
Futurama did it!
Here is a thought... about 65 million years ago a meteor hit the earth hard enough to kick several tons of matter into space ^_^
Ok? What about it?
+Licking Lemons lots of matter containing organic chemistry and living spores being kicked off of the planet ^_^
+Pink Program i dont think he understands you are saying that that matter could of made its way to another planet that can support life, and the life flourished.
great job Trace, would appreciate if you would like to do an episode on humans being aliens from tthe point of view of religion, like Hinduism, or or any other pagan religions?
So the primordial soup may have actually be made from bouillon cubes. That's kind of cheap. ^_^
Talk about astral projection and the astral realms and scientifically explained.
maybe the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs had us on it and the other aliens sent us to raid it and once it is all complete they comeback
Tardigrades aren't microbes, they're multicellular organisms
But how would the biological material survive travelling through a deoxygenated environment and also breaking through the Earth's atmosphere?
Very simple single cell organisms don't need that much requirements to survive as multicellular if I remember
+Katie (DoofusKat) There is one kind of multicelluelar bacteria that dies in space and can kinda revive its self (I think)
Leon Kokonas Interesting!
Tardigrades!
more space/theoretical videos please!! :)
NECROPANSPERMIA

I'm not one of those creationist who claims science to satanic, but is he saying "Anti-Christ" at 00:04 ??
I knew my dad flew away...
If we Are Aliens what do other people on the planet considered to be not human coz I'm sure they won't think there aliens
I mean sure, if you don't mind waiting a hundred million years for results
Maybe it's his accent or the fact that I really enjoy the words coming out of his mouth but I'm really attracted to him lol
Roger Smith.
Prometheus 7:40
could be rocks, could even be aliens, who knows, great show trace, ty ian
To aliens we are aliens... Who is the real alien?
Maybe hundreds of millions years ago a species managed to leave Earth and adapt. Their descendants the aliens people talk of.
A template for conciousness not biology its a method of travel
how crazy would it be if we found earth organisms on another planet, like dinosars, or monekeys, or even humans, with diffrant culture, evolved a bit diffrantly, nad such.
How could we actually determine the difference between aliens and humans,if they looked similar?
Dark Mage each alien has 73 dicks growing out of his head.
Dweliq That was uncalled for it was an honest question.
Dark Mage honest answer for a honest question.
Dweliq You really need to perfect your definition to 'honest.'
Dark Mage okay I have to be more blunt I guess. RETARDED ANSWER FOR A RETARDED QUESTION. There is nooo fucking way that aliens are so identical to humans that you couldnt tell one from another at the first glance.
I often thought this
LMFAO "Box of chocolates"
I ate some of primordial soup. It was a bit salted.
What if we're just organisms living in one of the neurons of another being?!? It's my own personal theory.
Haha yeah, what a theory. Imagine they are also organism living in a neuron of anther being and so on!
Is it said Pan-spermia or Pans-permia?
