I own plenty of govee products and ill recommend them over any brand.The customization and app is extremely easy to use and the fact that it works with alexa and google is great. If you are debating on getting anything RGB go with govee you wont be disappointed
I own a set of Govee lights. They are all set to turn on automatically but when the do turn on the default color is white. Do you know how to change the default so that they all turn on in a color other than white. I have reached out to Govee but no response😮.
@@Omegga26 I have mine set up with commands via alexa. So they turn out with whatever color i set the command too. I dont turn them on via phone or through the power switch provided. In alexa or google home you can set commands and the colors you want. One of my commands is ''Alexa cool it down'' which changes all lights to a dim cyan blue and also turns on my air condition. When i say "Alexa Im home" All lights go to a soft yellowish white. "alexa let there be light" makes all lights go to the brightest white setting. I reccomed getting a smart home device and messing around with the settings for basic use and use the Govee app for more customizable light features
OK thanks for the response. I have 7 sets of Govee lights set to auto turn and off over wifi. Only problem is that the lights turn white every day. I have not tried Alexa or Google home connection. Will give it a shot. Thanks!

hahah yea. I can't believe how much I love em, and was surprised by their quality. Finding out they glow under certain coloured lights months later has been the icing on the cake. The effect would be extra powerful under black lights for sure!

hello, a question for you , what model7brand is your LED large wands?
Just a heads up, it takes paint right of the wall and you can’t move them because the adhesive isn’t usable after you feel it off
You could probably use 3M's adhesive pieces that come with Nanoleaf. You can find them in Clas Ohlson and they are easily removable.

I had one on my floor casting light up on my wall and accidentally kicked it lol. The only piece that lights up now is the small angled end piece.

Thanks so much man, means a lot! It's more about the way I've lit the scene and operate the camera that makes it all pop! I use an a7s3, but again getting a good image is more about understanding lighting and camera settings than the camera itself.

Yes for sure. It's pretty bright at max with the white light.

Govee is absolutely killing it when it comes to price to performance! Just ordered a kit :D Unrelated question, but do you have any tips on how to film talking head videos in with lot's of RGB (also monitors) in the background and not get grainy footage? Looks stunning in your videos! I've been trying everything with my Sony ZV-1 yesterday but just can't get it to look clean (I am an amateur with cameras). Could it be because the sensor is quiet small? It did get a bit better when modifying ISO & shutter speed, but still not nearly as clean as it's supposed to look in 4k.
Hey there. Thanks for watching! As for your question, bit of a tricky one to answer, there's too many variables to give a short answer that would work for every situation (depends on lighting brightness, camera types, picture profile, etc) But as a few general rules, keep you ISO as low as possible for the least grain, yes this will make the image darker, compensate with a larger aperture (lower number), slower shutter and brighter lights.
@@FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE Alrighty so I tried all of this and did get way less grain and it looks very clean. The only issue that I have now is that all the lights that I have to point at my face to keep myself bright enough make me look kind of "flat" and also light my entire backdrop up (since it's very close). Maybe I'll have to get some soft boxes to light myself from different angles. But now it's definitely way better than before so thanks a lot for your tips man!
@@fullselfcontrol That's good to hear! To fix your other issue, you need to control your lighting so it doesn't spill onto your background. Use a soft light from an angle. Use a grid on your light to control the spill. Learning lighting for film/video is a lifelong journey! There's tons of knowledge and info on youtube though to get you there!

But hopefully the softboxes will suffice for my first YT videos :D Thanks a lot for your help, really appreciate it!
@@fullselfcontrol No problem, let me know how it turns out. Mastering lighting for video takes years, there is so much at play that most people can't even imagine! Even my lighting could be better but it's all a balance between, time, space and money for better lighting. You can get pretty stellar results though without if you know what your doing!

Does anyone know how many segments you can connect to one power source? I have 14 strips and 4 corners connected and the lights only come on for 6 strips and 2 corners.

6:00 that's UV reactivity, which also means your eyes are being assaulted constantly, good LED's (hue, for example) filter out UV.
Do they sell them in larger pieces if I was thinking of having them go around the ceiling of the rooms I wouldn’t wanna have to buy a whole bunch of small pieces
I believe they make a diffused strip light that would be better for that application!

I’m super wary of these proprietary app-controlled lights. My Lifx Tile was discontinued after about a year and now it’s a waiting game to find out if the app will stop working before the non-standard power supply. It’s a shame because the Tile is still kickass
I hear you. it's not that proprietary though, you can control it with alexa/google apps and the remote as well. Plus I'm sure the app will (certainly Govee and likely Lifx) will support their past products indefinitely in their native apps regardless of still selling. The non-standard power supply/controller may be more likely. Even so, as long as it's not damaged it should stay working!
Gotta say the Govee app compared to Lifx is way better too. I have LifX lights in my whole house and they are a nightmare. Only switched to them from Hue because they are way brighter and more vibrant.
I’m still using Hue as my main lighting source but I’m using Govee for Dreamview for entertainment lighting, and I’ve just bought one of these to go around my couch.
Can you connect multiple units to surround an entire room? If not then that’s a shame. That should be a feature.

@@FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE yeah, what govee really need to work on having both version to be expandable or likely they may have a second generation in the works that offere expendablity like the nanoleaf. speaking of nanoleaf. they just release their answer to lifx beam and govee glide with nanoleaf lines. what really makes things interesting is the nanoleaf went s step further by making them work not just on the wall but on ceiling.

@@FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE it's kind of strange that the overpriced nanoleaf is attempt to play catch up with lines. it does make your wall look almost like graffiti. also Govee is also trying to one up on weinkly with there RGB neon rope lights for the wall. govee's cheap alternative to twinkly flex I think tube lighting is gonna be a think a new thing in 2022
The biggest (maybe only) issue I have is the damned cord. To have an exposed cord is to prevent a lot of ways you might use/display these.

Sure they look cool but if not done right your room just looks good during Christmas and stupid through the rest of the year lol. I once saw a pianist attach the nanoleaf lights to the side of their piano stand which looked amazing. It's all about placement.
