Till USA and China agree to sign agreements about world pollution of any kind - we are doomed. They produce 3/4 of World pollution... For now everytime ONZ asked them about that they said "LMAO FUK OFF"
Open data sounds great but at the same time governments can always fudge the numbers. It would be great if technology could be invented that would be cheap and reliable enough to empower the individual.People could then hold the government numbers in check with there own ability to detect pollution. Perhaps the public could even create a sort map of pollution. I agree with Romaine though that this is a problem that seriously needs to be solved.
80% of global oxygen is produced by alges in seas and oceans. If water in those areas becomes toxic to those organisms we will face global extinction. Noone is talking about oceans becoming more toxic each year because its not changing on daily basis. But each year the waters of Earth are more and more toxic. That's one thing.
You lost me when you said Green Revolution has put food on the table for billions. Come to India and you will see the horror of the so called "Green" revolution in Punjab.
In Poland we have smog in the winter because of cold weather and society is poor after decads of comunism and earlier partitions. There is too many people in India and will be much worse. Just stop reproduce like rats... We have negativ natural increase and three times smaller population density than India.
OMG, I am a holistic yoga/mediation teacher & many other disciplines . I developed a serious ‘untreatable’ respiratory illness a year half ago. I’ve had at least 80 medical appointments . NO-ONE has even said the P word . I now KNOW I have been slowly poisoned . I’ve lost my life…. I do b’t know if I can recover . I bow have to change my life & move out of the city
Right, so because it doesn't affect you personally you don't have to care. Great logic you got there. We might as well call you a sociopath since it's clear you don't care what happens to others.
redesign vehicle exhaust pipes to capture the polluting fumes......or make tubular/cylindrical attachemts to exisiting pipes......that caputure this fumes by absorbtion..using sponge like material. these sponges coulld be relaced everyday and the used ones , being biodegradable can be put back into the soil.***********these sponges could be clumps of algae....../ ball algae/ algae fabrics clumps.......or any other suitable material........!!!!!!!
To be fair, I have seen better Ted Talks than this one. Air pollution is an important topic but Romain's views seemed really superficial + they sounded like opinions not backed by data. Again, not arguing what he's saying is untrue. But building a more compelling picture will have a greater chance of driving awareness and change.
im laughing cause homebog starts off the presentation and bases future statements on the true number of 7 million ppl dead from air pollution every year
You cannot stop climate change, the world temperatures have been changing for many years before the industrial ages. cleaning up the air is a good thing but blaming climate change on humans is total rubbish
Nonsense? Could you elaborate? Do you think that air pollution is not something we should focus on as humanity? Look at China how many people have to wear respirators on daily basis because of smog / heavy air pollution. Do you consider that fake?
@@NamFlow I'm sure there's nothing we can do even to mitigate the problem as humanity, since pollution is the natural consequence of industry, agriculture, transport, which is to say our lifestyle. We do not care about pollution, and media are not interested in telling us what's going on because we would represent a menace to who is in control if we activated our brains. Do you really think we can understand that our way of living is detrimental? C'mon, it's pure nonsense
@@giannicapra4280 _Do you really think we can understand that our way of living is detrimental?_ Not everybody sees that but there are plenty of people who understand that and are actually trying to do something to improve our worsening situation. There are people working on solutions to make the quality of our air better, either by working on solutions to clear all kinds of pollutants to make it more breathable or by working on new products that can replace existing products which heavily contribute to air pollution, both on the outside and inside of buildings (I'm mentioning that specifically because people tend to talk only about the air quality outside, when in fact there are studies claiming that air quality is generally much worse inside homes given that people use gas stoves, teflon cookware, oils and other things that contribute to making it worse). We can either do something about it or give up and say that we are already doomed. Which one do you choose is up to you but let me tell you there are plenty of people who give a damn.
@@NamFlow it's a matter of fact that every year is worse than the previous one as far as all indicators that tell us the healthy state of our planet are concerned. I like what you think, I'd like those problems to be solved, but I also like to stay realistic. All sort of data is there to tell us we are like cancer for nature, for all other species but luckily enough for us too (a little bit of justice every now and than is no harm). 8 billion people eating meat, impulsive and uninformed consumers is something you can't undo. We should have thought about consequences before. Every try is useless now, sorry to say this but it's as simple as this.
someone award him please
the topic was enough to prove his courage and personality
quitting smoking is an option. Quitting breathing is not.
Technically speaking it is an option, not one I would recommend though.
+MrChrisOake i would tho for few people.
Outstanding presentation by a handsome and articulate academic.
The air pollution in the next years will be the main problem in the world, i mean is already the main, but the people don't know about it

Good evening, hai🙏🏻, can i share the link of this video ?i want to make my final Assessment project 🙏🏻. Thanks a lot🙏🏻.
The first person yo invent a cheap and thin natural alternative to plastic bags will be an instant millionair
THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME..
that's speech is so great, and he is really have such an important message
water pollution is just as bad and we need water to live
you drink filtered water (i hope for your own sake).
i doubt you can say you are walking the streets in gas mask though.

Richa, can you elaborate about "Green" revolution in punjab part?
it is true, its because of GR that a country that had to import food grains became a net exporter. no one can deny the virtues of same.
The Green Revolution you referred to was not the same Green Revolution he refers to. In fact, they are close to the opposite things.
If that's the case Micheal, kindly elaborate on which green revolution he is referring to. I'd like to know. Thanks! :)

So for a start, we should have a global ban on fireworks that use gunpowder and toxic chemicals instead of compressed air
the future of mankind is in the air.....
Who else is watching this in year 2020 (also considering all other forms of toxic pollution including food) and adding up the Covid dots?!
I see barely any videos on TH-cam about this. I go outside and it stinks from all the car emissions.
i live in new Zealand so i am not infected by Air Pollution because we have lots of trees you don't know how much
Hi brother, air flows / blows around the world, it does not obeys any boundary whatsoever......
no one carez oi hahahah

Nanotechnology - Nanobots will aid in cleaning Air and Waters.

going to shove cotton wool up my nostrils now that I don't trust the air.
