From the time I played, I can tell you Terragroup was working on making a super soldier serum, they have tons of injectors that give you better stamina etc, it's not too far fetched to assume they were trying to create a drug that can make soldiers the perfect predators.

We know the fighting is going to spill out of Tarkov and go full WW3. I just hope we get this dream game. The mechanics in EFT are just beyond anything in the FPS market. That combined without any server requirement. Thus introducing no lag/desync. Would make it the best singleplayer FPS game since S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
And if what I've found is correct, there is reason for the Tarkov conflict to spill out into the greater world. I really, really, really hope R2028 is next.

Most videogames that have a basis in modern geopolitics very often have Russia as an enemy. It's almost always; The West (NATO) vs Everyone Else, where EE = Bad Guys, and are very clearly and unrealistically vilified. Counter to this trend, as BEAR PMCs we learn that TERRAGROUP has been doing LOTS of shady things in the Tarkov region, and both TG and USEC are Western-affiliated groups. To be fair, there's a historical precedent in that the Western Powers have gotten away with A LOT OF SHADY STUFF in the past, it just almost always never gets reported or put into a video game, for obvious reasons. A new perspective, something that does not immediately push Western geopolitical views on the person playing the game, is a breath of fresh air in gaming.
It is very realistic. Western scum will always cover up their tracks by making up stories about an "enemy" that they made up as an enemy. That they do what they do as a means to "protect" the world while they destroy it on their own. Money is cancer and they live for it. Kill half the world for it. Same as is happening right now, just ukraine will be tarkov. Westerners have interests in resources there so they make up story about "Russia invading, Russia stealing" while Russia is doing nothing but helping its people, who lived on the land for centuries to survive the western backed almost nazis of the ukrainian govt.

Minor correction at the beginning. Eft isnt really post apocalyptic rather just a region within russia that has been sealed off from the outside world. Good video overall very comprehensive

I love this game so much, the lore and gameplay are sooo good, it’s a shame that the learning curve is so high which keeps most players from playing, but I don’t want them to change the game and make it easier, the beauty of hardship leading to reward is so great and slapping on well written lore is just a cherry on top
The introduction of the "Obdolbos Cocktail" is a cool look into what they were up to in the labs. It's described as an experimental drug and it's effects are amazing. You practically become a super soldier for the price of %20 chance of death on injection.
Great vid, earned you a sub, i feel like lore doesn’t get enough attention considering half of the games appeal comes from it’s incredible setting and it’s setting comes from it’s story, I honestly feel like part of the reason people start to dislike the game is because they get into habits of treating the game like a PvP arena so much forget about well thought out allusions to backstory, black keycard room is way less cool when you think of it as “the room with the injectors” instead of “the terra group human experiment chamber” Also this video has some killer editing

Ever heard of EmuTarkov? Its basically singleplayer Tarkov with AI controlled PMCs. Its really fun and chill.

6:55 the scav bosses in game are more like lieutenants of the true scav kingpins, not the actual full organisers and leaders of the scav gangs
