- Another Kijiji Classified Ad find! Listed for only 24 hours, this van was high mileage but low dollar and made for me. I had been bugging the Dustbuster van groups to show me a van that didn't actually have Air Conditioning...and no one could. I didn't think it existed...until I found this one. My very own low option Pontiac Trans Sport was everything I wanted in a van...plus a bit too much rust, but we'll work on that.
Weirdly enough, this one makes me understand why you like these vans so much. Congrats on the great find!
They are just weirdly unique and pretty easy to work on. I will enjoy restoring this one. My 1993 is in great shape, it didn’t need much work where this one needs some attention, it will be fun.
Nice find. Our family minivan in the 90s was a 1992 Trans Sport SE 3800 in that youthful light blue they came with. Fairly low optioned, AC and tint, but roll up windows.
It was crushed by a tractor trailer off the Trans Canada around late 1998 or early 1999 in a snow storm.
It was a great van tho, good memories. I still have the 3800 badge from the front fender.
That’s a pretty cool momento. I 3D printed some ones for my 1993 Chevy APV as the chevy’s never came with them. Sorry the van got swished, that’s not good news. Did anyone get hurt?
@@Turbo231 No. My dad ditched it on the off ramp, and when he came back with a tow truck driver, there was a tractor trailer on top of it. 🤷🏻♂️ I have pictures of it on the flatbed after it was recovered, but YT doesn't allow pictures in the comments.

Such a great find! Be super careful with those honeycomb grilles. I thought mine were as you describe-intact with a few small cracks. And then they just sort of crumbled away. :/ Still need to get to work on making a 3D-printable model to replace them!
Yes...I wonder if taking out one of my intact ones and scanning it would help?
@@Turbo231 Honestly, I wouldn't risk it if I were you! Mine are still intact enough (and broken in different places for each) that I should be able to get a good composite scan between the two of them, and then model from there. But I'm worried that you trying to take yours out would just be tempting fate for them to break.
Congratulations on finding such a cool van! It looks like she was well cared for. Those hubcaps look almost a bit too rare to run around town with.
No worries! I’ll be taking them off and replacing the wheels with 15” AL 5 spokes off a 98 Trans Sport for the summer.

Yes! The Chevy's had an all out cargo van but this is pretty close.
Sounds like a 3.1 for sure . Adequate enough for that van 👍
It seems pretty peppy thanks to gearing, I'm sure it falls on its face up to speed.
@@Turbo231 Perhaps , That motor is pretty tired and it is a TBI so it would not be great in the higher RPM's 🤔

Wow, that is awesome. There is a whole Facebook group dedicated to them and has a listing of every van we know for sale, plus tips to look for.
The oil pressure is good . The original oil sender leaked and the aftermarket one never read properly.
Gotcha.
I had to do some repairs on the drivers seat . Replaced the cushion and the base . My weight and driving style wore it out..😅 The rear speakers are aftermarket but the grey covers are original.
I tried them out yesterday, they sound great, the front ones not so much but the rears seem to make up for it. Had an audio tech tell me at a car show that these vans are excellent for sound.
The front driver's side speaker cuts in and out sporadically.
I want to see you drop that spare tire down .. its never been touched.
It certainly looks like never has been touched, the factory jack looks like it hasn’t moved since installed either.
That is correct. That is why I would be impressed to see it removed.
