Thin, Medium, Thick CA and FoamTac are some of the greatest inventions ever made! With my start in the sport, Bob Smith Industries used to send me “Get Well Soon” cards if they didn’t have an order from me monthly. (I have fingers that are permanently bonded together. I can no longer be fingerprinted) I’m one of those that loves doing repairs after crashing. The numbers are way down from when I first got in sport, but I did snap the fuse of an ArrowsRC T-28 in half over the summer. (Tip stall) It was actually a pretty clean break and a easy repair and a new prop. But the T-28 was stunned when I took it back to the field after the repair. It was like, “Damn, this guy is serious! I better fly straight and level, or he’ll try to glue me again!” The T-28 actually flies better since the repair.
Yeah I had a old Timber that had angry sex with a power line and ripped the front half of the fuselage off and cracked the wing. Hot glue, ca and popsicle sticks and she flew better than before!
CG? I just Subscribed to your channel. Found you because I have just finished "putting together" my FMS 1100mm Typhoon. I say "put together" because back in the day everything I "built" was made from balsa. Early to mid 70s. WOW am I excited to be back in the hobby. EPO foam? Gyro's? Are you kidding me!? Wow have I miss a lot. Back to CG... The manual say 45mm back from leading edge. Some say 60mm back. Some say just use the recommended 3s 2200mah battery shoved all the way down and everything will be fine. Others say they have added weight to her nose. What has been your experience and final results? Fantastic rebuild. Love the lights. Thanks you for all of the effort you have put into your vids.. good stuff and it shows. Cheers!
Thanks for subscribing and I did like most and shoved the battery all the way to the bottom. Here is the video that inspired me to buy her: th-cam.com/video/TauzxaEbwbs/w-d-xo.html
That's a really good re-build from a distance you would not even have thought it had crashed - I was shocked that you actually managed to get something from FMS - when I take a look at FMS everything is out of stock LOL.. fingers crossed for the Re-Flight, great job on adding the lights - was if difficult to add the light in the rear of the fuselage ? - I might just copy your lead and do the same - Merry Christmas - (I British and that's what we say) :-)
Top or bottom is never a problem with these cheap little kit I use. But those red flashers are joined on a y. So I have to cut one away and solder or heat shrink back together after mounted. I just use a small dab of hot glue to secure them. Other than that it pretty straight forward. You just have to get over the fact that you will have to cut into that paint job on her. I feel like I violated her when I cut the paint like that. I almost want to apologize to her....LOL....yes I talk to my planes...lol When I come home from work in the morning I come through my Hanger and I almost always say Good Morning guys (to the planes) I promise I will get you all in the sky soon.!!! .. I know I have a problem....lol!
@@FatGuyFliesRC Regarding your Problem - You are not alone - LOL - Mine are all female so I tend to do the same "Morning Girls" - OH and I actually sleep with 8 of them at a time - ......stored upside down on my bedroom celling ...so as I have said you and your problem .....are not alone ..;-)

No the old method from before there was no forward programing or smart receivers. I used the Spektrum programing cable, Spektrum updater and programing program and used the SRM file for the Spitfire with an old ar36a receiver through the bind port. This method is VERY dependent on proper placement of the receiver. It must be in the exact same configuration as the model its intended to go in. Now with the new forward programing and these smart receiver your taking an unprogrammed receiver and adapting it to the plane your putting it in(from what I have read).
