Hi Nick - Good news that it now comes with a Reflex system - I am planning to use a Spektrum AR630 RX (comes with SAFE and AS3X ability) - I really have no plans to build or fly mine this Year or next come to think about it - I purchased a lot of Airframes since 2019 mostly as an investment against price increases and it looks as if it has paid off for me - mind you I keep buying more for the same reasons (but EDF now) - I have no doubt that you will be doing your maiden and have flight time with her before mine sees the light of day again, good luck and I will keep an eye out for the Video. Stay well - Martyn

The hole in the cockpit is probably to equalise the air pressure. With cooling air coming in the front, if there wasn't a hole then the positive air pressure in the fuselage would pop the canopy off.
Nice to see the elevator doesnt have a square peg for a round hole!
Question I have been meaning to ask and could probably google, foam hinges? Is that just a really thin piece of foam from the moulding process holding that together? Because if so then that foams going to fail right and pretty quickly?

Also helps prevent moisture build up on the inside of the canopy. Allows it to "breath."

Yes I can see that now you have said about the cockpit holes..thanks... you know as I was talking about that elevator and how they are joined together that was the very thought that crossed my mind lol.....yes that is correct about the so called foam hinges..all part of (all be it very thin ) the same moulding..this is why you need to flex them several times before fitting servos else you could strip the gears in the servo or over stress it ......From experience I tend to flex them a lot to make them loose, then put hinge tape ( a bit like medical /scotch tape, ) along the hinge areas or use a layer of Foamtac glue spread along them...foamtac when applied in this way drys but remains flexible... this is almost always done on the underside except when it comes to the rudder of course....on FMS models they use some sort of laminate along the foam hinge so it's not necessary to do anything extra..but I always check....Dynam foam hinges are in my humble opinion the worst. Flex them and the paint cracks then hold them up to the light and on a lot of occasions you can see light !

After being bitten a couple of times many years ago, when I first crossed over from balsa and ply, nitro fuel powered models, to eps foam electric powered ones, I now always cut away the foam hinges and insert nylon hinges glued in with foam safe c.a. Call it “insurance” 😉 EPO foam is a lot stronger than EPS foam, but nothing beats a solid Nylon hinge.

@@FlankerTanker Interesting. I know the foam isnt like normal packaging foam and is more plastic, flexible and dense but I still can't believe the foam doesnt fatigue quickly and break!
Thinking about how many times it moves in flight, especially with stabilisation modes making lots of small frequent movements.
Loosing a control surface reminds me of how the p51 racer at Reno crashed into the crowd and that was just a trim tab

@@Bellakelpie Yes great idea - I have been known to put holes in the top of the canopy for the very same reason ...

Nice kite... Fms do some good models.... Alway dubious about retracts it seems like the weak point

not had much experience with Retracts (Yet) - I agree with you though they will be a weak point and need some TLC when using them ... Which I don't really have LOL.... DID you get the RANGER in the sky today ?!
