    Very glad to know. The war against the Chinese is long over, but it still linger in our blood because our ancestors went through hardship and a long trail of bloody migration. We were mistreated for thousands of years, this is why many of us are still very angry, yet, we must learn to move on and be proud of our culture.

    In regards to the Miao who completely assimilated into the Han culture, I believe I had encountered some of them while touring China a couple years ago. On many occasions in different cities, I had come across someone who looks just like a Hmong/Miao guy in every which way, but he's Han. It's possible that these are the Miao who became Han thousands of years ago. People can transform in many ways, but their personal trait will remain. However, the Miao & the Han should be brothers & sisters.

White Hmong does not prefer the word" Mong" but it's okay for us" Mong and Hmong". We are the same families and we live side by side in the past and will contunue to live together for future to come. Thanks for your ideas..

    LOL I'm surprise you got the brief history correct. My brother and I have been there 6 times so far. Luckily my brother can speak extremely good Mogolian, Mandarin, and Cantonese that even the Chinese think he's a native Chinese. He's doing his own report for Oxford University and plans to do a separate but in dept report for the Hmong Cultural Centers. They even issued us 2 bodyguards when we go there like we actually gonna need them, LOL.

    I agree with you my friend 97tomv. In the 90s, I read one Chinese history book, It described the Donyi and Juili used to live in the Houang Ho " Yellow River areas.around 246-206 BC. They were defeat by Houang Ti and were push down south to Yantze River areas. You can look for this book, The Peasants" in the LIbrary.

    Because of Chiyou's and Miao's power to transform human into different form of things while in combat enemies. That's very best skills of all time in mankind's history that nothing in this world can. I pray for him and Godblass Chiyou and his offsprings.We lost the war but our history is alive. Human's transformation like our Great Grand Chiyou.was and Our San Miao reigned was so popular.. We had less populations to defend our land that it.. We are proud to be Chiyou's offsprings, "Miao/Hmong".

    Please remember these words " when chinese people come to Hmong village for trade, chinese often refer the Hmong as "kwv tij" or brother. I talked to one chinese scholar while travel to china and he told me that the Miao and Chinese were more likely dencedent from one ancestor. Chinese or Han was the older son and Miao or Hmong was the second son. B/c of jealousy of many things in life and want to be the next kin leader they have to fight so this devide us as enemy through history.

    Some of the Jiuli people went to Japan in 175 BC from Jiangsu and help started the Japanese state. They were fleeing from persecution by the Dowager Emperess of Han. They were led by Hong Yi, a prince of Wu, who was a descendant of Duke Tai of Zhou. He was the ancestor of Jimmu Tenno, first Japanese emperor. The Jiuli included both Hmong and Mons. The Mons who remained near the Yangtze delta later went to Myanmar. Many Jiuli also moved south and became the Hmong-Mien.

    My friend, Do not be disappointed by the name" Miao" given by the Chinese. We can not deny that It is their only word that describe us who we are. We Hmong people does not prefer to call the Chinese" Han" but the only word that we could name them is " Suav". we all understand who they are.We do not have any other word to indentify who they are either. So let it be the way it was. No more argue about it..

    Thanks for your comment. Yes, they are just different transliterations for the same people. "Mong" history exists very early in China. Some of our people decided to use “Hmong” after they supported the French to control our people in Southeast Asia. Many newer generations are promoting that they are Miao origin and not Mong. I find it very troubling especially those who are professors and educators. They need to study Mong history as well as Miao.

    Dear friends, Hmong and Mong are the same people but the green Hmong prefers the Mong word because that sounds stronger for their vocal. The Hmong sounds softer for the White Hmong.That's it. We,White Hmong and Green Hmong are coming from the same ancestors. We call the Green Hmong," Hmoob Laug" We, White Hmong, " Hmoob Tshiab" which means we changed our clothings style from theirs somewhere in China period that's all. Why? Base on "Yawm Laj Lwg & Puj Trhwv Mim " is an evident for us to judge.

    Niamtxiv, what are your thoughts about Chiyou and Yandi being the same person. Many Chinese say they are the same. Both are Ox totem. If not then they could be like the Vang and Lor. Both are Hmong but on different side of the struggle. Yandi is credited with being the father of rice cultivation and the Hmong are the people whom farmed rice.
    I also came across a theory that the Huns are the SanMiao who were forced to the Northwest. I'm curious as what happen to that group of Hmong.

Great job on the vid. The statue of Ci You is a great symbol. He is powerful, proud, and demands respect. And screw you for the second music. Look at White Hmong DNA. Its on the internet. They have the most Northern DNA than all Hmong/Miao groups. It means they are the oldest of all the Hmong groups. The DNA colloborate that Hmong and Miao are the same.

  • @97tomv
    @97tomv 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    @54markl The Northeast groups consisted of Xienbi, Khitans, and Jurchen(Manchu) plus many of other smaller groups. The Menge(Mongols) were a small group in the North with the Tartars and Turks. The Mongols were a mixed of Turks and Tartars under Menge rule. Genghis changed their name to Mongols after he conqered the North. The Mongols link to the Hmong are thd 3Miao sent to Gansu who mixed with the Di and became the Huns who were the ancestors of the Turks, Tartars, & Menge.

    One thing that I want our people to remember...Miao/Hmong are the same people. B/c of the war...some become asimilated to the chines/han culture and some's language have been changed with neighbor so now our language are far different from one another. Even the "Qeej" are using for different purpose. Those Hmong in Sourther China still keep their traditional way of life like those us in Laos. Those in Kuav Naj called themselves Hmong Dawb and speak the same as us. Chinese call them Hmong Qus.

  • @97tomv

    @kubheev If you look at Chinese history, the original people of China were the Dongyi whom the Hmong/Miao are a part of. The current Han are a mixed of Donyi and Huaxia. The Hmong refused to accept Huaxia. The Miao(meaning descendent) name was given to the Hmong. Due to the terrible economic conditions of the Hmong, the Miao name acquired a bad connotation

  • @niamtxiv
    @niamtxiv  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Exactly, Serfius666 does not know the difference between Dongyi and Man. The Man culture is highly different from the Miao culture. When you learn and study about the Dongyi culture, you will realized that many Hmong culture coincide with the Dongyi culture. Man were originally referred to the strong Yi people who created vast civilizations in far southwestern China. The Yi people were Man. Even the Hmong use the name Mab (Man) to refer to the Yi.

  • @niamtxiv

    you must have not taken any anthro courses. Hmong is not a dominant group like the united Chinese. Hmong is only a very very very small branch of the Miao people whom language is 40% Mandarin, whom culture is highly influenced by various ethnic tribes, thus still maintaining this Miao identity that is found in all Miao groups. In regard to Chiyou, Chiyou's ethnicity is irrelevant. As Hmong, we are not pure. For any Hmong to claim pure is a fairy tale. I am Hmong and proud to be Miao.

    @Serfius666 From your writings, it seem you don't know the difference between Dongyi and Man. Dongyi means people from the East. Man means people from the South. They are not the same. The Hmong fled the Yellow River down to the Yangtze and were grouped with the Man. The term Man did not come into use until about the Zhou Dynasty. The Dongyi were the largest group in ancient China covering the Yellow River down to the Yangtze River.

    Hmong people are not a united group as we all like to believe... we are extremely diverse even in language, traditions, origin stories, clothes and so forth. For any Hmong scholars or historians to make any statement that Hmong culture and history is set... is out of his or her mind.. as we all know... Hmong itself belong in both Chinese history to non-Chinese history and we all came from different backgrounds.

    Many of our people who were grouped into Miaozu and are acknowledging the name Miao but most are claiming to be Mong origin and not Miao. Those who live east to the Southern Great Wall lost the name Mong because Ming government prohibited Mong name and culture. That is the reason that the name name Mong is not recognized on the east side of the S GreatWall (mainly Hunan). Yet, many still retain the traditional baggy pant culture from the north during culture shows.

    Niamtxiv is so shy to reveal himself because he may not be real Hmong that's why hekept that name. So leave him alone. We will later findout who he was. Just follow his works. Someday, he may turn up to be a good friend of us. Thanks

    There are so many branches of Western Miao aka Hmong who spoke extremely unintelligible dialects to Hmoob Dawb and Hmoob Ntsuab. There are Miao who call themselves Ho Mong, Gho Mong, Gha Mu, Hmao, Hmio, and the list goes on and on..... for you Mong Nationalists to make this fairy tale that Mong has been used for thousands of years is beyond words. For Mong Nationalists to make claims that our ancestors called themselves MONG and only MONG for thousands of years... you can't fool me.

    What are you saying? Don't twist it around. It was the Mong who claim themselves not as Hmong.

    I don't see us as Miao. That was a derogatory term given to the Hmong people by the Han. Of course the Hmong would later stick to it though.
