Would be great to get an actual manual for Brains, including this new information. There's a bunch of functionality that's not documented AT ALL in the existing manual (e.g. hold bank, move morph knob to change LPG envelope release).... and the manual is really only a quick start guide. Why make a full product and support it with updates if you don't document the features anywhere? It's a bit odd.
New models don't even work exactly the same as the others giving new functions to the level and trigger inputs, it would be really nice to have an updated manual.
It would be interesting to see a new version of the Deepmind with this oscillator instead of the analogue one but keeping the analog filter (maybe change the type) so we'll get a powerfull Hybrid synth at a fair price

Bought it, updated it, really wanted to like it more than I did. I found it frustrating that the Model CV input doesn't track very well, an issue commonly discussed elsewhere. Other than that, I kept going back to the same sound over and over, and realized it wasn't enough to justify the cost or hp in my rack so I sent it back. I still have high hopes for Victor, but I have other things higher on my list first - I just got Ochd and the expander, today's post should bring a Tesseract Polar8 attenuverter to pair with that; as soon as the refund for Brains posts to my account, I'm ordering Basimilus Iteritas Alia. Next up, Muxlicer & Mex followed by Pam's Pro Workout. After that, it's gonna be a eurorack free-for-all and all bets are off as to what modules I will accumulate. There will surely be plenty of Behringer in the pile.

MI also included the dx7 ability so I'm confused when Behringer says they developed it in house? Is the difference in some additional features of this particular addition vs MI's ? Just curious... Looks great though!
The DX7 patch-compatibility was only added to the Plaits with its most recent FW update in 2022, but Mutable doesn't open-source the actual content/data of all of their firmware updates-and in the case of Plaits, firmware updates are uploaded to the module in the form of audio data (.wav) using a patch cable!

Because of this, I imagine it isn't as simple as opening up the firmware into an Arduino IDE or a CLI tool/text editor and not only modifying, but *translating* it all for Behringer to reverse engineer, but I could be wrong! I have no personal experience with Mutable units.

I like this but haven’t a clue what else I would need to make a euro rack system, midi cv clocks, power supply lfos envelopes mixers etc. Is it easy to connect all these to a case & is the power in the case easy to connect to the modules?
I want his rack!! It's perfect, sized that is. I want some modular stuff but I haven't jumped into it deeply and I don't want a whole cabinet of modules... Yet.
I just got one and added it to System 35 , looks and sounds great, now I need a new rack for Space FX and other new matching modules you just announced, love that the modules have the same label font as the system 55 modules, I also like the little splash of reggae colours
What are we doing about the terribly low volume on the BX7 model? I have to crank up my gain to hear it and it introduces a lot on noise Then i forget i cranked my gain when i switch models and my headphones blow my freaking eardrums out!
I don't know why but since the update something went wrong.. All sounds are different loud now. Some are very quit and some normal. The BX7 30 CM3 sound is very very quit not useable. Sometimes, i have the feeling that the scope is very slow or showing just a line nothing more.
Damn. Even the firmware updates are "inspired" lol 😋 But I guess mutable instruments is no longer around, so I appreciate the option to get a brain to put under my plaits
I'm still worrying if Behringer's new synths are gonna support MPE and Daniel never will respond about it. I've been removing all non-MPE synths from my studio unless they are vintage synths. I really need note expressions to be usable with Roli and Osmose MPE controllers and with Bitwig note expressions. Behringer says "We listen" but I can't get any confirmation if they are listening about MPE or not. Also where is the MPE firmware update for DeepMind? I don't want to have to get rid of it.
Behringer is making mostly analog synths, else this one, and they are based on synths made before the MPE. I guess that you have to hope that they build a whole digital synth with MPE, instead of the replications of the old analog synths.
Very nice, thanks ! I wish that "wave generator" engine would work in LFO mode, just found out it doesn't. And the Acid model sounds awesome when you sequence it from a TD 3 - although that does not make much sense.
Behringer has a good eurorack offering except one area is noticeably undercooked... FX! The System 100 line has a short dual-purpose BBD effect. I think that's it? The Space FX is M.I.A. Definitely do _not_ want MI stuff though. That market is already oversaturated. Brains is fine. But the guitar pedal eurorack idea _was_ interesting.
downloaded the update, installed it, rebooted (after waiting for half a minute). No sound on bx7, no sound on saw bass, thin sound on vocoder. Sorry, but it is a bit disapponiting update. I'm on macos 12.6.2., mba m1, update went without any error, and the module says, it is on 1.0.2 when powering on. The only thing that is better are the names on the algos, which are great.
The BX7 and TD3 are complete synth engines, they are enveloped hence they need to be triggered using TRIG input in order to produce a sound. Vox is a voice engine, not a vocoder.
please point me to the manual for Brains using the app, mine just updates Brains, then doesn't recognize Brains. Will return this junk. Just want to use some DX patches, can't find a manual.

The recent MI firmware is not open source so we developed these five new engines completely in-house.

Agreed, Korg messed up when they had the 5 octave opsix at namm and never released one. Fx bleep bloop is one thing, but performances need octaves.

MPE for Deepmind would be huge! The closest equivalents you can get to that right now are in the 2000 dollar range.

i updated my Brain with synthtribe2.5.9. but the BX7 and SAW BASS LINE doesn´t do nothing, even oscillate....
