This level crossing is located right after branching off the western lines, next to the Macaulay Light Repair Centre. This is 1 of 2 crossings to be located underneath a motorway (in this case, the M2), the other being Macaulay Rd, North Melbourne.
The crossing equipment used consists of:
- New style Westinghouse LED Lights and Crossarms
- General Signals E-Bells, 1 Type 2 and 1 Type 3
- Westinghouse Boom Gate Mechanisms
- 2 Unmarked Bases
This crossing has not been listed on the Victorian Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), so this crossing will be staying here for the foreseeable future. The location of this crossing is the main factor as to why it will not be grade seperated, as it is located underneath a motorway and next to a creek, and its close proximity to North Melbourne Junction.
