In this video I will show you how a massive Maersk ship is unloaded during our port stay in Felixstowe .
The containers are stacked as high as a 9 story building & to do cargo operation on this is a huge job .
Merchant Navy ships are just getting bigger & bigger in size with the number of crew remaining the same .
Port of Felixstowe also had this different kind of mooring arrangements this time which was a spectacular sight to watch .

I'm really surprised when i saw Myat (Electrical Cadet) because he is also from my country, Myanmar(Burma). I even said wowwwww and i'm really admired with him for three reasons. Firstly, very few cadets from Myanmar were selected for Maersk. Secondly, he's onboard together with my fav TH-camr and the last, he's on one of the world's largest ships. Myat is really lucky. Excellent episode, thanks. Clean & well preserved vessel….impressive. I had a Master who used to cringe when a member of the crew used the term “Monkey Island”. He finally issued a formal notice endorsed by the Force Regional Commander that all crew members were to henceforth use the term “Compass Bridge” only. Amongst ourselves we would still use the description of monkey island. Carry on!

Felixstowe is my closest port. You should definitely explore it next time you visit, there is a seafarers centre located in the port and from there I’m sure you can get taxis and buses into the town. There’s also a rail station with trains that will take you to the next closest town with connecting trains to London if you have time
