What a splendid video tutorial, thanks, I really enjoyed watching that & will watch more. I've been painting miniatures for 50 years but still learned some interesting tips from your video. Bravo indeed!
Hi, the idea of spraying white highlights over the black base is so that you don't need to paint highlights and shadows. Thin the Vallejo uniform colours with glaze medium then wipe most of the paint off of the brush on to a tissue. The colour builds up through multiple very thin layers (around 10-15 depending on intensity required) with the shadows and highlights from the base coat still showing through, it is not so much painting the figures as colouring the primer. This creates a more natural appearance to the uniform cloth as only one colour is used. For desert or sand coloured uniforms replace the black and white primer with a dark brown and a flesh tone primer sprayed from above for highlights. I also watched Uncle Night Shift's video and now I paint all of my figures this way.
@@dioramadevil Thank you, I watched Night Shift's video a dozen times at least until I really understood what he was doing and worked it out from there. I used to be scared of figure painting but now I love it.
@@martinoconnor4314 totaly agree... My next figures will be done "the right way", because I have great painters in my club, and they are helping me... But no shortcuts there. Old school painting... We will see...

Would really enjoy your videos way more without the horrific background music. 300 bpm doesn’t match well with your otherwise relaxing content :) Had to mute this one, still watched and enjoyed :)
Sorry to hear that. You are the first one to say that. And you preatty much nailed the bpm to... 😀 I love this kind of music, but unfortunstly, (or fortunatley) those days are over due to copyright problems. So that means soleless yt library music from now on... 🤟😀 Tnx for your toths...
