  • Let's paint some figures! In this figure painting tutorial I show how I painted the US Paratroopers and French civilians from the Liberation Sets by Dynamo Models in 1:35th scale. Parts of this miniature painting tutorial are pre colouring and pre shading with an airbrush, painting uniforms and clothes by brush using the glazes method, leather parts like boots and details like harness, backpack, metal effects like on the Thompson MP using acrylic paints, and the sculpted 101st Airborne patches. Of course painting skin tones is a topic too, as is weathering and dirt and mud. The Thompson MP was painted with acrylic paints only for the first time.
    I hope this step by step guide is helpfull for one or two of you and I can show some techniques for beginners and veterans. Please let me know what you think about it. I would love to read your feedback and cronstuctive criticism. And if you liked what you saw, please consider supporting me by subscribing.

    Wow! Just anazing!!
    How beautiful and intresting painting process.
    The figures will look super cool on the diorama!
    Also this scene of paras being offerd wine by the french is quite iconic, the contrast from the fighting shows very nicley in the diffrence of apperance of the figures.
    Keep up the good work!

      Thanks a lot for your kind words, much appreciated 😊 yes I like these non battle scenes, and these figures were perfect for placing them into this scene👌 hope it will match nicely 🤞😬

    Airbrushing the shadow colour on the soldiers rather than a black coat with glazes- such an obviuos and time saving idea and one I am going to try asap. Fantastic results.

    Incredible result. I really like the airbrushed 'pre-colour' technique - I'll have to try that! Thanks for the great explanation.

    Hi, for metalic parts of a model, have you tried black then using a soft black pencil such as a B4 or B5, go over the black. It gives a soft metalic look. Hope that is of interest. Kind regards Lexi.

    • @biberhunter_scale_models
      @biberhunter_scale_models  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi, yes actually I tried that in the past, using a pencil. It really has an interesting effect, and is looking very metallic. But this time I wanted to try using only acrylic paints to recreate this effect, because it's not that shiny than graphite, but can also look very convincing. And I think I will try it more in the future, because it's matching nice to the look of the rest of the figure. But thank you for your hint👍

      Thank you🙏 the blending brush is from a cheap set from Amazon, no name brand. It doesn't have to be a good one, it just has to be soft and wide. I'll check the link, thank you👍

    Wie lange lässt du dir glazes trocknen bis die nächste Schicht kommt? Bei 10 layers ja nicht unwichtig

    • @biberhunter_scale_models
      @biberhunter_scale_models  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Das stimmt, aber bei wasserbasierten Glazes kannst du zuschauen wie die trocknen, so schnell geht das. Kannst du nach ein paar Minuten das nächste machen👌

  • @dermodellbaunoob
    @dermodellbaunoob หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dein "blending brush" ist immer leicht mit mit dem retarder angefeuchtet?

    • @biberhunter_scale_models
      @biberhunter_scale_models  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Der kleine bei den Uniformen ja, ist gut um die Farben noch etwas zu bearbeiten und eventuell entfernen. Der große beim Gesichtermalen ist trocken, das blendet die Schichten ineinander.
