Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review: Revolution, not Evolution! | TOI Auto

- The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is very different from the former Himalayan. First of all, it gets a new design scheme that is not as boxy as the previous model. It even comes with an LED headlamp and LED turn indicators. There is a new 4-inch TFT instrument cluster that can be paired with a smartphone and displays maps for navigation.
Mechanically, the Himalayan 450 has a bigger 452 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces much more power than the old 411 cc engine. This new engine is capable of belting out 39.6 hp and 40 Nm. With bigger brakes and a radial tyre at the back, the Himalayan 450 handles a lot better than the original version. Another big update is the presence of USD forks at the front.

The beginning of the video starts with a wrong note, it has to feel like Royal Enfield otherwise it loses its charm and heredity. I have been riding RE for the past 21 years, I owned three TBs since then, every bike stopped properly, many of them might have ridden a good one it seems. I never had any issues with my brakes. I rode across India, and all the times I never bothered me. If RE is looking into my comments, please make any bike which comes from your factory should feel like RE and nothing else. I am still enjoying my 2010 TB and I feel bad that those kinds are not being manufactured, I agree it needs some upgrades and it is good to go, the ergonomics are quite good. I wish all the very best to 450 but it should feel like RE.
Kudos for a genuinely genuine review 👍. Straight forward views covering all significant aspects of the matter.
Even I was waiting for Himalayan 452 to happen so that I could take a final call on Interceptor 650 which I have been considering for long. By the way, what's your take on Inty vs Himmy for someone who would be taking the bike on long trip (2000 + kms) once a year and intends to keep it for lifetime, quite literally 😊. Thanks !!
thank you very much for the great video review. Can you put a heal toe shifter on this mode, that is one thing I miss a lot.
hi what sort of oil filter does it have? regards john great vids btw
Sounds like KTM than RE. But has become a proper adventurer! Kudos RE! You got a winner in your hands...
Beautiful bike!! Do you think it is beginner friendly? Thanx and regards from far away Serbia 🇷🇸✌️
The only trouble that beginners might have would be with the bigger overall footprint of the motorcycle. It can feel a bit top-heavy at parking speeds. Otherwise, it is a very forgiving machine with manageable power delivery.
I disagree it is through with vibrations besides that it’s good value but it dose every think it says on the tin
Can we listen to music via offline music player?
Only Apple Music is supported on iPhones and Spotify on Android devices.
Has the Saree Guard rule gone??
The saree guard will be given don't worry, I have seen the bikes that are going to the showrooms they have saree guard in them.

I hate that white mottled paint. Looks bloody awful. Black Gold all the way.
All the colours are disappointing btw. Except the Blanc yellow. That also could have been better. Such a massive tank. Had so many options to choose from. But they choose to keep it empty with not so great graphics.
Kaza brown looks gold in all colours without graphics.. Black and yellow doesn't give this bike a character.. Especially wheels looks awkward.. All black no graphics will be zuper good though
i hate the new design , it will not age well. looks like a Old gen Splendor
Get your eyes checked bro
@@sush2142 i am sorry, but it looks like your mom ...

@@Rahul-kp6wn The older design was much better. More industrial .
