My father had that exact same car right down to the color. He bought it it new in 1966. I learned to drive on that car.

Interestingly enough, my father, who was also a doctor, bought a new ‘66 Bel Air. He was not a car person and saw it as practical transportation. Also a 250, but with a Powerglide. It was the first automatic transmission vehicle he ever owned. The car was eventually passed on to my mother, then to my oldest brother. In the autumn of 1971, it was traded in on ‘72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, which I still own today. I am currently restoring a ‘64 six-stick Biscayne station wagon. Looking forward to more videos of your fleet.

You are correct about never knowing when your time on Earth will be your last. It's sad that people lost their lives in that tornado but it's something that can't be prevented sometimes. I have never seen a tornado firsthand, and I never want to. God bless those who suffered.

I have a 66 Belair I bought for $300 sitting up on blocks when I was 17. It's 235 6cyl Two-speed power glide. I drove it until I was 42 then let my son drive it to college. Found out it's actually a a 65 1/2. Tried to buy a universal joint and it took a 65. A man saw it at a gas station and told me it was 65 1/2. He had one just like it. I still have the car and have done some mods. Suicided the rear doors. and Cadillac interior with rear brake light in back window. Center console paint and tires and rally wheels.

Was a very popular engine (165 hp) in the marine industry until V-6s (175 hp 2bbl & 205 hp 4 bbl) (shorter more room in boat) replaced them.
The biggest killer is unleaded fuel would cause valve seat recession. Run a lead substitute additive or have the head redone with hardened seats. Also fiber cam gear failure, other wise a pretty solid bottom end. Distributer weight plate pins and point cam would be worn badly on high hour
    (mileage in cars) engines.

IMHO someone either needs to preserve or restore this. Hardly any 4 door examples remain. Should be saved for future generations. Not all classics are 2dr Chevelles, or Impalas.
Engine may need a serious going over to run like new again, but little work required to achieve that.

I'm a small block Chevy guy myself but the six cylinder in line has a very important part of History. That is the cars are cheaper to buy with the Yankee engines out and put in our hopped up V8 as kids. Oh yeah doing that again but not quite as with as much vigor. Glad you're having fun with it. Another good video! Glad you got it unstuck! You going to sell it or keep it for yourself? If you sell it what would you be asking for it? Take care.

..God, Nooooo...too many d@mn LS swaps..I know they are good engines, but so is the inline 6, and MUCH simpler...so hacking up the wiring and drivetrain with the original engine, too....

You should have plugs out to let pistons pump mystery oil out of cylinders.
