Its the bane of current orchestral themes. most of them try to copy off eachother directors say "I want it to sound like this" thats why mostly every epic action historical period sword movie sounds like Gladiator. Every theme that isn't done by John Williams is basically forgettable. Knight Rider, Voltron, Back to the future, Harry potter, star wars all have memorable music. Try to think about Captain America's theme? years from now no one will ever be humming the Netflix Voltron theme in their head.
And on a somewhat related note, most every ST fanfic that takes place Circa. Picard will have the fleet that shows up at the end of S1 to _NOT_ be a bunch of Cookie-Cutter designs and instead be the ships we all know and love. I mean, one guy here literally redid the scene with classic ships led by the 1701-E, and soon after released a slightly edited version that added the VFX that plays when Voyager's nacelles lower when it comes outta warp
I had the same issue with the Masters of the Universe reboot from years back. The music just lacked that epic, adrenaline-pumping feel to it.
And Peter Cullen as the narrator in the intro! God i love hearing his voice! 👍

At least the latest reboot actually included that as a reference, admittedly it was when the castle was taking off (SPOILER ALERT, the castle in latest voltron is also a starship) n not the lions but it was still kinda cool. As a thankful Gen-Xer, this was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. I just got the DVD pack the other day and was watching with my 4 month old son. Granted, he'll have no memory of watching Voltron for the first time, but the look on his face was timeless! He was just in awe of all the colors & sound effects and yes, when he gets a older we'll watch the series again. I actually got emotional when I was watching the first episode with him. Who would have thought that one day, I would be watching one of my favorite cartoons with my child. Now I have to introduce him to Thundercats and my all-time favorite: He-Man.
I would instantly become a fan of any sports team that would use this to introduce their starting lineup

Voltron Unbelievable 40 years long and still going strong 1984-2024. Listing to this brings me tears to my eyes how the years has passed and been this long.
I only had the movie version as a kid, but i loved it, and never forget this epic theme.

Still an amazing bit of music. Those triumphant horns really give you a feeling that your hero has arrived.
But I was just watching "The Missing Key" and there was another part to this music. It starts with just the beat and then you just hear a single horn playing this. I would love to hear a complete version where that single horn segment leads into this.

I dare someone who grew up with this show to tell me with a straight face that they don't sometimes wish this song would play in the background whenever something awesome happened in real life. I just got my Playmates '84 Voltron lions in the mail today! It was a dream come true because I always wanted a Lion Force Voltron when I was a kid but never got one. I had the Vehicle Force version which was not as awesome in my mind. Anyway after removing the lions from their packaging I used your video as a reference guide to help with forming Voltron. I kept hitting that talk button just like you did lol. I love the size this Voltron has when fully formed. The voice overs are a nice touch too. Needless to say I am very happy with this purchase despite the flaws you pointed out. Feels awesome finally owning a Lion Force Voltron! Thanks for the great video. It helped me decide which Voltron to get out of the many versions on the market.

You know it's funny that I didn't realize it before when I was growing up watching both the Lion Voltron and the Vehicle Voltron but the guy who narrates at the beginning of every episode of both series and was the voice of Commander Hawkins during the Vehicle series was Peter Cullen the same guy who voiced Optimus Prime now that was awesome.
