And one his lines for the move is "Can you withstand this -fragment- of a true holy sword?" (Sorry if my English isn't good)
There's also the fact that Arturia's actual Prana supply is HUGE to the point where she would be one of the best Casters ever if she learnt how to use magic her Magic Circuit is a Dragon's afterall
This, I took from Type-Moon wikia about Black Excalibur :"Due to the corruption and the enormous amount of prana received from Sakura, Saber can fire this version of Excalibur without limit." Gil parred Excalibur with Gram in Fate route on the bridge if I remember correctly. Gram was archetype of Caliburn, so Gil has at least 2 weapons as strong as Excalibur (Ea being one). Apparently, Gil had at least 12 weapons strong enough to kill Berserker (meaning A-rank)
Ah, I didn't know that to be honest... but I find it to be awesome that he has some of his moves there. Nero, Emiya, and Tamamo were my favorites and Gil's working his way up there also. Anyways, pretty much unexpected to even see it here, I thought he was getting something like that move where he had his swords going after people like in the movie.
I think I read about that somewhere, it probably isn't surprising since Arturia can use it without an issue yet this is due to the fact she IS the one who originally wielded the sword.
Due to the abilities of the Moon Cell, the ability of wrought iron has increased to Holy Sword class level. But Garcher can only get up to a mere single weak beam attack and not the full thing.
The wrought iron thing is complete BS. A reality marble is basically overwriting what didn't exist and what did exist on a hard drive. Like Shirou says, it's what he sees in his image. (Actually, he doesn't have the circuit power to pull off a 300% Excaliblast like Saber does in the end of each Fate route. He had B ranked mana for a reason. 300% means prana burst.) Besides, tracing it takes too long, thus not being applicable for battle until UBW is deployed or enemy is charging up their attack like in Fate Kaleid Liner. Excalibur=200MB, Kanshou&Bakuya=15MB. Simple?
I'm just reading what Kinoko Nasu said in the Fate Extra Material Book in Archer's Unlimited Blade Works profile. He didn't even expect the animation of it as he quotes: In EXTRA, the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted so projection of holy-sword class weaponry is possible, though their performance is inferior. Okay truth is, I was surprised to find that the staff in charge of the 3D had made animation for Excalibur being projected while I was looking the other way. Well it is new animation after all and there's no reason to reject it. So long as it's a degraded version, I guess it's okay.
Tyztube21 Which is Nasu's way of saying something like "you get to use Excalibur, why are you complaining? It's not like this stuff is canon to the main series anyways..."
japz321 It's canon to a single divergent branch among the infinite alternate realities and timelines that is the Nasuverse... so it's canon to Fate/Extra, but not to Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, Tsukihime, Melty Blood, etc.
It doesn't change the fact that Saber was extremely weakened at that point. While an OHKO might be too optimistic, the outcome will still be different if Saber was at full strength. The amount of times she can use Excalibur is irrelevant. A NP is a trump card, meant to win a battle on use. Like Ea. Btw, the finishing blow wasn't all Shirou. Saber lent a hand, which probably boosted the attack power. Caliburn is a rank lower than Excalibur. A++ is quite a lot. A = 50. '++' is 3x. So it's 150.
He should be able to trace it (or at least, a good enough copy, in his words), but using it is another matter. As Ascarde said, if Emiya (any of them) uses the true power of Excalibur, he would self-destruct. Unless he is in his Counter Force self. Then he has unlimited prana.
I'm actually quite impressed that I remember most of it after 6 years, but do tend to use wikia now to refresh my memory.I don't think my statement was 'dumb',especially since the word overrated never implied Excalibur is a bad weapon.Like you said before, its a great ace that turns battle around -like most NPs should be - but it also incredibly cripples its user by its cost. To that, I find Caliburn to more efficient and elegant. You will disagree, but calling it dumb is below a 'huge fan' level
Well EMIYA can project it but if he did then it would be a suicide attack since he doesn't have the reserves to use it even if he was in a contract with Illya he even admitted it himself in the VN
He can trace almost everything that at least resembles a sword, but can only reach one rank below the original. This changes however if he decides to use it as a Broken Phantasm, which would increase the rank of the projected weapon.
I commented on the Excalibur-Caliburn from EMIYA#0/No-Name/Shirou perspective. Saber at full power, based on UBW, was as strong as berserker. With Sakura as master, she defeated berserker with ease (Though black excalibur is completely diffrerent weapon). Excalibur is stronger and has better range, but extreme inefficient in terms of power. Shirou traces Caliburn with ease and gets better results with single weapon than anyone had against Berserker.
Because it was constructed by the Fey and enchanted. It was made by hands not of this world using this world's materials, where Ea has no origin or belongs anywhere on this plane.
Black Excalibur is the exact same as Light Excalibur. Just because one is black, and one is light doesn't mean much. They're both A++ in ranking. Excalibur is inefficient in terms of mana consumption, and so it can't be spammed like Lancer's Gae Bolg. However, its power is supreme. Shirou won because the situation called for it. Would you say that Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon blades are stronger than Excalibur because they defeated Berserker with ease? Of course not.
does someone know what he says in the very last sequence when he uses Excalibur ? it sounds something like : kono hikari wa towa ni todoku no oh no ken. something about the light of the king's sword, I can't decipher the rest though as my Japanese is not that good :/

The fact of that matter is that Caliburn isn't better than Excalibur. Being more 'efficient' is irrelevant if it's Saber, who has enough mana to strengthen each of her blows with Mana Burst. And 'elegant' is just a matter of your opinion. Even the wikia states that Caliburn is not as strong of a sword as Excalibur. If we're going by Shirou, then yes, Caliburn is better just because of his limitations. However, if it's Saber then the answer is obvious.
That doesn't mean it's different. It just means that Saber has an infinite amount of mana from her master, and can fire Excalibur without limit. It has nothing to do with her Excalibur being different. Heck, if regular Saber had this Sakura as her master, she can fire her Excalibur as much as she wants to. Gil parred Caliburn with Gram, not Excalibur. Where are you pulling this from, because it sounds ridiculous. Ea is obviously stronger, but that's besides the point.
What a great compilation!, to think you would even go through the trouble of adding different quotes, and all 5 Trace On circuits. Thank you very much!
How much damage do Crane Wing and Caladbolg do in UBW? I'm guessing a good 5k more damage for both, based on what it was in F/E. Though, I'm curious why both did 14k with maxed level, with the much higher mp cost it doesn't really seem worth it. Does Caladbolg just have a massive range in the damage potential, making it less reliable?
it's called Excalipoor, LOL, since it's just an incomplete version of Excalibur, but still, its power is still destructive compared to average noble phantasms
Concerning that whole Excalibur Image ability, even Nasu himself wasn't expecting it. He had to come up with an explanation because the developer's put it in without his consent.
***** For lazy people, here's the exact quote (translated from Japanese): "In EXTRA, the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted so projection of holy-sword class weaponry is possible, though their performance is inferior. Okay truth is, I was surprised to find that the staff in charge of the 3D had made animation for Excalibur being projected while I was looking the other way. Well it is new animation after all and there's no reason to reject it. So long as it's a degraded version, I guess it's okay."
Yeah, but the version that this Archer traced isn't as strong, it looks like he used it as a melee Broken Phantasm to self destruct, much like Caladbolg. So it takes up alot of mana, but it isn't so much that his body would break apart
It's actually called, Excalibur Image. Because it's an extremely incomplete Excalibur, forming only the image of Excalibur and some of it's power. Unfortunately for the enemy, that's fraction of Excaliburs power is still overpowered
I cannot find anything to prove your statement that Excalibur at full power would obliterate Berserker with one shot. With several, true, but like I said - even Rin, the best human magi in FSN series, was unable to give Saber enough power to shoot it more than 3 times. BTW. Shirou haxxed too much, not only knowledge but also purpose of the sword he created - to kill berserker. Thats how one hit killed him 7 times, because it was designed by Shirou to do that. No point tracing Excalibur then.
That's less along the lines of raw power and instead the fact that Ea simply has no materials that originate of this plane. To clarify, Archer states he can trace Excalibur, but it wouldn't really do anything except serve as a "taking you with me" attack as he would fade away after exhausting his prana.
Are you forgetting that Saber was insanely weakened at that point? She was struggling to keep herself from disappearing. Using Excalibur when her mana supply was practically zero, while having an incompetent master is suicidal, which is why Shirou stopped her. When Shirou projected Caliburn, he also projected its inner battle techinques. It's not him fighting, the sword is guiding him. You're sorely underestimating Saber's NP, which is A++ in rank. It would obliterate Berserker at full power.
Excalibur is overrated - Caliburn is better. Shirou in Fate route, with no superhuman strenght, basic combat experience, was able to cut off Berserkers arm off and save Rin in process - a servant who was supposed to not be harmed by any weapon below B-rank. Excalibur flashy beam was able to killl Berserker once and then made Saber disappear and we reached dead end, and even with Rin bombastic mana level Saber was said to be only able to use the Excalibur 3 times before dying.
Wrong it CAN be done..but its kinda like a end game...Shiro in one of the Routs.. right at the end.And it cost him his life..i'm guessing they did this Excalibur image as Archer's Strongest attack.since it did bullcrap damage.. lol gilgamesh's weapon cannont be traced tho lol
It isn't that hard to remember that particular scene as that was when Avalon was introduced, but anyways... Me disagreeing with your false statement makes me 'below a huge fan' level? That's quite a stretch there. At any rate, only Saber can wield Excalibur effectively because she has an enormous amount of mana to use. Shioru wouldn't be able to use it or he risks killing himself, so Caliburn fits him more since it isn't as cost-heavy. Excalibur is to Nuke, where Caliburn is to a missile, yeah?
And while it's been years since I've read the VNs, I remember it clearly, as I'm a huge Type-Moon fan. I know my stuff, and I think you saying that Excalibur is 'overrated' is a dumb statement.
You should really replay the VNs to refresh your memory. In that case, let me tell you how it happened. Saber uses Excalibur against Ea, fails spectacularly, and is rendered immobile. Shirou fends for himself by projecting Caliburn. Gilgamesh explains how he owns the prototype of all NP, even Caliburn, then proceeds to take out Gram. Shirou tries to fight, but Gram slices through his Caliburn like butter, and nearly cuts Shirou in half. Canceling out Excalibur and whatnot... that's some memory.
TH-cam comment limit is a bitch, isn't it :D Your really stuck on Saber, while I'm only comparing weapons from perspective of tracing. I don't believe its relevant to discuss Saber power output. Also, I don't remember Gilgamesh destroying Caliburn, I remember him canceling out Excalibur with Gram, then he used Ea to overpower Saber. Few of those scenes I remember despiute them not being in anime, hopefully correctly, it was really long time ago I read the visual novel.

And anyways, if you actually use the Type-Moon wikia, then it should be damn obvious that Excalibur is superior to Caliburn. Do you realize that you're saying that an A++ Noble Phantasm is weaker than a projected Caliburn? The basis of your argument with Shirou is faulty because Saber NEVER used Excalibur on Berserker at full power. So what a projected Caliburn took out 7 lives? Excalibur could have taken out 10 lives, how can you prove that Caliburn is stronger? You can't, and it's NOT.

I'm just reading what Kinoko Nasu said in the Fate Extra Material Book in Archer's Unlimited Blade Works profile. He didn't even expect the animation of it as he quotes:
In EXTRA, the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted so projection of holy-sword class weaponry is possible, though their performance is inferior.
JaftenLKA well its still canon in the nasuverse
japz321
It's canon to a single divergent branch among the infinite alternate realities and timelines that is the Nasuverse... so it's canon to Fate/Extra, but not to Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, Tsukihime, Melty Blood, etc.
A++ is quite a lot. A = 50. '++' is 3x. So it's 150.
Not quite, but he did take armor and appearance notes from the prototype Saber.
You will disagree, but calling it dumb is below a 'huge fan' level
.... I must have this outfit (getting CCC in a few days)
I kinda wished FGO had made that front flip slash his Buster Card from faraway and he would jump backwards to fire Caladbolg the up close one instead
Looking hot with glasses
does someone know what he says in the very last sequence when he uses Excalibur ? it sounds something like : kono hikari wa towa ni todoku no oh no ken. something about the light of the king's sword, I can't decipher the rest though as my Japanese is not that good :/
DOW1100 i think its a bit translated here forums.nrvnqsr.com/showthread.php/3373-Fate-EXTRA-CCC-Spoilers-Thread/page231
i don't know i may be wrong and stuff cuz i don;t know this type of thing hope it helps a bit
Does Caladbolg just have a massive range in the damage potential, making it less reliable?
it's called Excalipoor, LOL, since it's just an incomplete version of Excalibur, but still, its power is still destructive compared to average noble phantasms
how did you get eng subtitles
😱That damage tho
GAWD! these fan arguments! CHRIST! Archer, I love you man but, for Nasu's sake your complicated!
Concerning that whole Excalibur Image ability, even Nasu himself wasn't expecting it. He had to come up with an explanation because the developer's put it in without his consent.
Ascarde Where did you get that information?

its there in typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Excalibur

For lazy people, here's the exact quote (translated from Japanese):
"In EXTRA, the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted so projection of holy-sword class weaponry is possible, though their performance is inferior.
Okay truth is, I was surprised to find that the staff in charge of the 3D had made animation for Excalibur being projected while I was looking the other way.
Well it is new animation after all and there's no reason to reject it. So long as it's a degraded version, I guess it's okay."
HF Shirou projects a shit version of excalibur in the normal end..
Why not use excalibur as an holy arrow.....
Yeah, but the version that this Archer traced isn't as strong, it looks like he used it as a melee Broken Phantasm to self destruct, much like Caladbolg. So it takes up alot of mana, but it isn't so much that his body would break apart
Where did you get a fully translated English version of CCC?
???
can someone pleasee tell me what is the name of Archer noble phantasm sountrack...
Izwan Bahrin it is called emiya it has lots of remixs this happens to fate/extra rendition
ouhh.. thank you berry verry much!!!! 😊😊😊
It's literally his surname lmaoo
Wait, i see some text in english, is the story translatwd aswell?! Where did you get your hands on this???
Whats the effect of the pre projection skill / what does the number of projection's indicate?
3:24 peak
Eng Translations when???
That's less along the lines of raw power and instead the fact that Ea simply has no materials that originate of this plane.
To clarify, Archer states he can trace Excalibur, but it wouldn't really do anything except serve as a "taking you with me" attack as he would fade away after exhausting his prana.
What exactly does Unlimited Blade Works do in this game? Does it increase damage or ensure Projection success or what?
@@mr.jokermaker4539 Helpful. What does it buff?
@@mr.jokermaker4539 The bell rung when I was online. That being said, if you don't know the answer, don't reply.
Why this outfit?
Are you forgetting that Saber was insanely weakened at that point? She was struggling to keep herself from disappearing. Using Excalibur when her mana supply was practically zero, while having an incompetent master is suicidal, which is why Shirou stopped her.
When Shirou projected Caliburn, he also projected its inner battle techinques. It's not him fighting, the sword is guiding him.
You're sorely underestimating Saber's NP, which is A++ in rank. It would obliterate Berserker at full power.
how you made the 99999 damage?
Excalibur is overrated - Caliburn is better. Shirou in Fate route, with no superhuman strenght, basic combat experience, was able to cut off Berserkers arm off and save Rin in process - a servant who was supposed to not be harmed by any weapon below B-rank. Excalibur flashy beam was able to killl Berserker once and then made Saber disappear and we reached dead end, and even with Rin bombastic mana level Saber was said to be only able to use the Excalibur 3 times before dying.
I thought he was normally restricted from tracing Excalibur due to the mana cost. It's the same reason Shirou never tried tracing Excalibur.
Um.....Can you give me Link to Fate Extra CCC english Patched??
no such thing exists... (maybe)
Fair enough. Just curious.
Excalibur is to Nuke, where Caliburn is to a missile, yeah?
fireis
why does youtube want me to check with spam god its annoying all comments are free let me see if i can fix it
And while it's been years since I've read the VNs, I remember it clearly, as I'm a huge Type-Moon fan. I know my stuff, and I think you saying that Excalibur is 'overrated' is a dumb statement.
In fact, just from Gilgamesh destroying Caliburn with Gram, we can prove that Excalibur is stronger, as that would never happen to Excalibur.
IS this a translated version?!?!? where did you get your hands on this!?
nice!!
I imagine Gawain is the prototype version of the Saber we all know?
You should show when he use AEGIS against noble fantasm from Lancer awesome cutescene

did not know archer could use Excalibur
And anyways, if you actually use the Type-Moon wikia, then it should be damn obvious that Excalibur is superior to Caliburn.
Do you realize that you're saying that an A++ Noble Phantasm is weaker than a projected Caliburn? The basis of your argument with Shirou is faulty because Saber NEVER used Excalibur on Berserker at full power. So what a projected Caliburn took out 7 lives? Excalibur could have taken out 10 lives, how can you prove that Caliburn is stronger? You can't, and it's NOT.
He can use anything baby. = w=-b
Compared to Avalon and Ea's Enuma Elish, all other Noble Phantasms are overrated! LOL ^_^
