An attack on one Hutt is an attack on all of them. Killing the twins without a green light would essentially be declaring war on the whole Hutt cartel, and Boba does not have even a quarter of the strength to withstand them.

The Hutts own a very large piece of the underworld in the galaxy, especialy in the Outer Rim. You'd have to go to Nal Hutta, thir homeworld, ask for an audience with one of the ruling families, and get permission to kill one of them, and THEN you'd probably with any amount of luck, skill, firepower and manpower behind you, would have to make it off Nal Hutta in one piece and get all the way back to your territory before you're killed by their assassins. Crimelord Hutts are pretty treacherous and powerful. Think The Godfathers of space!

As for the spice-traffickers running the train, you probably remember them from Clone Wars; they're of the Pyke Syndicate, who have collaborated with Darth Maul in the past.
the wookie bounty hunter is Black Krrsantan from the Vader and Doctor Aphra comics. He is a badder badass than Boba Fett (obviously), and him and Boba once were both hired by Vader in the comics. So, since they've worked with each other, their exchange in this show pretty much shows viewers like you (who have not read the comics) that they have some history. The Doctor Aphra comics is where Black K. really shines as a main character. He is a badass.

To kill a Hutt without putting a bounty on yourself, you need permission from the leaders of the other Hutt families. Not only that, but you also need a good reason for it, and it must benefit them in some way.
The part where Boba was fighting the gang who had the speeders, they were at Toshi Station, and those two people we saw were Luke’s friends who appeared in a deleted scene in A New Hope
That Wookiee is Black Krrsantan. He’s a Wookiee who disgraced his people and became a Bounty Hunter. He fought an exiled Obi-wan once.

I think the reason Boba Fett eventually leaves the Tuskens is due to his injuries from being digested by the Sarlacc. The stomach acid likely did a hell of a lot more damage than mess up his skin, so he needs healing from a Bacta Tank, which is expensive as fuck. He also fucked with the Pykes and took their spice, and we've seen enough Clone Wars to know they won't let that go.
or after fully embracing the life of the Tuskens and its people, he may find for the first time a sense of belonging, home, people, family but I sense a great disturbance in the force and either the little Tusken kid or the warrior Tusken female is going to die and Boba will make it his personal journey to become the ruler of Tatooine and return the planet to the indigenous people.
@@Mazgic Yeah, if anything bad is going to happen to the Tuskens it'll be the Pykes retaliating or whoever the spice was being delivered to. Either way, Boba Fett just made a huge enemy before he became a crime lord.
The "guy who trained him" (or as I think of them, "the Toughest Tusken" in the vein of Wes Studi's character in "Dances with Wolves) is most likely a female Tusken, as it is in fact, a stuntwoman under the robes.
Female Tuskens aren't dressed like that though. Also, a stuntwoman being under the robes doesn't matter. A woman was in the Greedo costume, but Greedo is still male.

Wrong. She has long flowing head cloth on her head, and a much longer skirt, which none of the males have. You can also see the outline of her body beneath her costume. This tribe is different from the one we saw in Episode II, as the leader's costume is also different from the other Sand People. It is also heavily implied that the female is the Chief Tusken's wife, so she and her husband would not be dressed like other Tuskens.
@Vetarlit Torf: Also, Greedo was not played by a woman in every shot. He was originally played by a man, and when they did the reshoots for the cantina scenes the original actor was unavailable, so they put the costume on the only person on the set who was slender enough to wear it. Star Wars was a low budget movie, whereas this show is a huge production by a gigantic company. Disney can afford to hire the appropriate actors for the roles. You cannot apply 1970s era production values to this.

The train is run by Pikes like those in Solo, the gang that Boba stole the bikes from are the same gang from the last episode that attacked that farm, and the couple in the bar are Fixer and Cami, 2 of Luke and Bigg's old friends. And it's amazing how much more depth has been added to the Tuskins
I’m pretty sure the people on the train were Pykes, from the Pyke Syndicate. We saw them in the Clone Wars and Solo as a part of the Shadow Collective under Maul!
•The Hutts have ruled a vast territory of the criminal underworld for ages. To kill a Hutt would invite more trouble than someone would want.
•Watching Mandalorian, I tend to say that the series has "nativized" the Tusken Raiders/Sand People from the mindless brutes portrayed in the Original and Prequel films into something more allegorical of the Native Americas. Watching this episode, I felt that the Tusken Raiders are presented as something more like the Bedouin peoples of the Arabian Desert. I was getting a lot of Lawrence of Arabia vibes, especially with the charging of the crashed train.
•I was also wondering what the Pykes were doing on Tatooine. Maybe with Jabba gone and the Hutts dealing with the power vacuum, the Pykes see an opportunity to move in and take territory from the Hutts.
I was thinking more Dances With Wolves than Laurence of Arabia. That would fit your nativized theory better, and it also tracks with the train passengers shooting Banthas, which mirrors the behaviour of Americans in the old west. Passengers would shoot millions of bison/buffalo from train cars, starving the native tribes who's land they travelled through.
Glad to see this comment. I always had the idea of Tusken Raiders somehow living off the desert, like the Fremen in Dune (who in turn were inspired by the Bedouin, I believe). Good that the shows are supporting this theory and showing their day to day a little, since the movies never really had time to once Luke and Ben left.

The lizard is like a guide and maybe releases a hallucinogenic compound to guide him. Many cultures in our world use the hallucinogenic powder or even drink. Like for example there is a Central or South American country tribe have a drink that can send you on a somewhat a spirit quest. Also, part of the drink ingredients is the Coca Plant.

I love your reaction, I really liked this episode too! There's a bunch of cool easter eggs in this. The place where Boba got the speeder bikes from is the Tosche Station (in Episode IV, Luke tells Uncle Owen he can't clean the droids because "I was going to the Tosche Station to pick up some power converters"). The guy and girl at the table who said "It's not right" are characters from a deleted scene in Episode IV, where we see Luke hanging out at the Tosche Station with them, and the girl is teasing Luke and calling him "Wormy".
Boba bonding with the tribe is my favorite part so far.

The Tusken's are symbolic of a lot of Native American tribes. The lizard is a vision quest like "journey" that would be akin to a Peyote (Mescaline) trip
Boba seems to be right at home in this warrior culture.
If you remember from the clone wars, the Hutt cartel is run by a council of elders. we saw them in both the Maul arc, and the one with Xiro. If Boba wants to kill the twins, he has to get it cleared with them, otherwise he risks a war with the entire Hutt cartel.
You probably missed it but Darth Vader killed the Hutt Council in the War of the Bounty Hunters comic set after Empire but before Jedi. So unless they made a new council, there's no council at this time. They probably got a new council set up though. Pretty much all the council members you're thinking of from Clone Wars were killed by Vader.
The Hutt Clans are one of the most if not the most powerful crime families in the SW Universe, to kill a hutt you need permission from the Hutt council. In legends they had massive fleets are armies at there command however in the current cannon it’s not currently known how powerful the Hutts are
Hutts hate everyone and everything, but they hate other hutts a little less than everyone else. so the gang bosses dont allow hutts to be killed especially by non hutts. killing any important hutt would result in almost anyones death, without permission from the upper hutt bosses.

Here a fun fact: In the comics Boba Fett and Black Krrsantan were THE bounty hunters hired by Darth Vader himself after episode IV. Boba would find the name of the pilot who blew up the Death Star, while Black K would find an Imperial scientist.

I love these first two episodes. I was 9yo when STAR WAR came out. This has the right feel.

What if, in this year of "Dune", Fett will be shown to have consolidated all of the Tuskens into a unified force like Paul does with the Fremen and actually controls all of Tatooine already with his 'desert power'. He's keeping that in reserve adopting a 'speak softly but carry a big stick' policy with the Hutts and underbosses to see if he can assert control without unleashing the whirlwind. Should Plan A not bear fruit, he can always pull the trigger on worldwide revolution becoming King of Tatooine!

The Hutts are the most powerful criminal cartel in the galaxy controlling a huge portion of space outside the jurisdiction of the Core government. Remember the Hutt Council in "Clone Wars"? Not even the Empire crosses them to avoid reprisals. Just like the Mafia on Earth, you don't rub out a Don without permission from the heads of families.

EPIC HIGH-SPEED TRAIN HEIST! What's a Western without a good old fashioned train robbery?
That gaffi stick sure comes in handy; we've seen it used as a Bantha toothbrush and now a train brake!
The PYKE SYNDICATE from "Clone Wars" and "Solo" are transporting spice across Tatooine! Fett negotiates a Dune Sea tax for the Tuskens.
In gratitude, the Tuskens give him a snoutful of lizard that has him trippin' balls and go on a VISIONQUEST!
He has a vision of Tatooine's oceanic and arboreal past!
He flashes on KAMINO, GEONOSIS and the SARLACC's gullet.
He returns with a petrified piece of Tatooine flora, the hard wood from which gaffi sticks are fashioned.
RITE OF PASSAGE complete, he is garbed in Tusken robes and carves his branch into a proper weapon under the supervision of the tribe's armorer and the female warrior.
Now a bonafide tribe member, TEM shows the Tuskens how to raise the roof MAORI-STYLE! Lol.
Boba Fett is the T.E. LAWRENCE OF TATOOINE!

mmmm i guess that boba "take permission to kill" the twins is a reference to the movie "goodfellas", that the twins are like "made men" , like they are very top gangsters, you can't touch them or do anything against them, or the other members of their criminal family, will go against you. If you have a dispute i supposed you have to tell the other members first before you do anything.
I would be interested in a rewatch of the OG SW films. You will pick up a lot of things now that you're more familiar with the Star Wars world.

The couple in the Tosche Station bar were Luke Skywalker's friends Camie and Fixer. In the last jedi novel book, Luke imagined he married to Camie Mastrap.

He would need Permission from the New Republic. The Hutts played both side of the civil war with the Rebels and Empire. Once the war was over, the New Republic made a deal with the Hutts since they supplied them with goods during the war.
As for the Wookie, that's Black Krrsantan. He has history with Boba, Obi-Wan and a certain Doctor
Why he would need permission from New Republic? They don't care about dead gangsters. He would need permission from other Hutts. Slugs are like real life "made men". This is like Cosa Nostra or John Wick's High Table
Often in the crime world, you need permission to kill a 'higher up' by the other higher ups. I recommend watching goodfellas because that explains it.

Jabba was a member of the Hutt Council, each one of them was a head of the five families. After Maul Formed the Shadow Collective, Jabba become the most poweful of them, the boss of all bosses. When Leia killed him, parallel to the Empire, they entire operation collapsed. The Hutt syndicate lost it's prestige and other criminal organizations, like the Nikto biker gang or the Pykes move to many territories. Bib Fortuna don't have the power to secure the planet, but that may the reason why the Twins tolrated to sit on Jabba's throne. Hutts live for hundreds of years, don't had to rush for taking Tatooine. However, they may avare that Fett have much larger ambitions, act as a compedator instead as an intendant. The rest of the Hutts still fighting over power, but if two of they members killed on the streets of Mos Espa, that may look them bad so much which will bring retaliation. Fett has to gain allies, and possibly the help of another Hutt to eliminate them.

The Book Of Boba Fett; Chapter One Breakdown:-
This one-off show highlights what happened to Boba Fett after he fell into that Sarlacc Pitt in “Return Of The Jedi”.
Expecting a sprinkling of guest cameos from other Star Wars characters such as Din Djarin @ The Mandalorian, Omega from The Bad Batch, Ahsoka Tano, etc.
In The Mandalorian; Season 2, we saw Boba fully dressed like a Tusken Raider. Even his choice of weapon is a Gaderffii / Gaffi Stick.
I believe this serial will showcase how he rises through their ranks via flashbacks whilst in the Bacta Tank.
As well as solidifying his position as a self-appointed Crime Lord of Tatooine - replacing Jabba The Hut.
Also, his sidekick: Fennec Shand seems more attuned to Tatooine’s underworld culture.
Boba himself has undergone a morality shift - more benevolent and merciful after emerging from that Sarlacc Pitt.
My prediction is that this show shall introduce at least one completely brand new main character to the Star Wars Universe. Fingers Crossed!

This Sophomore Episode is longer and way better than its Pilot.
That train heist scene is reminiscent of so many spaghetti western armed robberies via horseback as well as “Lawrence Of Arabia”.
These Tusken Raiders, spice, their surroundings, Pyke Syndicate oppression and way of life are synonymous with The Fremen from “DUNE”.
I hope this brought back memories of the train heists with Arthur in Red Dead 2.

It feels weird that they're humanizing Sand People when Lucas always depicted them as mindless savages. Although it's not the first time since KOTOR showed that not all tribes are the same and some can be reasoned with. Still, they kidnapped, tortured and possibly raped Shmi Skywalker for no apparent reason.
Still, I do love the world-building in this episode. Especially how they established that the Gaffi sticks are personal and unique to each Tusken.
They were probably one of the violent tribes trying to show dominance on the planet or just protect it from "outsiders"

Why does Fett need permission to kill a couple Hutts...
Well, they live on the Rim, far from where the New Republic can easily patrol. And nearby Hutt Space. Kill a Hutt...especially out here...without permission of The Hutta, start a war with the Hutts.
To give you an idea of how strong Black Krrsantan is after his cybernetics he caught a knife in mid-air and it broke when it made contact with him. More impressively he gave Obi-wan a run for his money and that’s how he got his scar. To say the least boba has his work cut out for him.

The badass tusken raider is actually a woman. Kinda hard to tell.
The easiest way to tell the difference is to look at their head wrappings. The females all have long flowing cloth on their heads, almost like long hair.

My guess is that with Boba helping the Tuskens interfere more effectively with the spice trade, Bib Fortuna is going to start going after the Tuskens. That’s going to lead to Boba deciding to reclaim his armour in order to kill and supplant Bib Fortuna.
