I just purchased one of those therapy lights for my 90 year ol Mom with Dementia who lives with us. 😂 She was showing signs of Sundowning and was getting confused when it was getting darker after the time change. Chuckling to myself as I picture you in costume for the Nativity...you may see yourself as a "lowly shepherd" but, gentle soul, you could wear many hats...shepherd, husband and father, and wise man! Blessings to you and the family during the darker winter season. I am currently knitting in front of the brightest window I can find. Living in northern climates is not for the faint of heart, for sure. I may have to find such a lamp myself. Days get longer soon!

Lovely to hear your news. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. I tend to enjoy the magical feeling of Christmas eve - the feeling that all of the organising is done and the excitement of my two teens and my youngest. Christmas Day I find goes so fast and with cooking it can feel a bit busy. I enjoy Boxing day as it is always our complete family lazy day. Usually PJs all day and no cooking required! Sadly there is no school Christmas service here this year. A first that has left a few in the community (me included) feeling a bit sad. With ministers retiring and changes in the school headships it seemed to have been forgotten. For me this is always one of the main events I look forward to each year. Hopefully next year will see a joyful return. I am busy crocheting a project just now (work related) but I have a crochet blanket project that I have been saving to start over Christmas. I might also start a colourwork jumper, though garment knitting is a big commitment for me as it always seems to take me forever! Sending very best wishes for Christmas and the joy of knowing that the year is about to turn towards the lighter months x

Thank you Andrew. Glad you mentioned about the Sentro. I bought one last year and I did wonder whether 'Sentro' hats were acceptable for your collection. Now I know, then maybe I'll be able to get a few sent up to Scotland next year. Haven't made it to any carol services this year, but I did go to watch my grandson in his pre-school nativity. Unfortunately he decided that sitting with Mummy and Daddy was preferable to being on stage as a shepherd and at 3 yrs old I can fully understand. He sang beautifully from Mummy's knee though 😊. Thank you for sharing the stunning scenery you have there. That made my day! I am amazed by how tiny the classes are in the local schools where you are. Here in Florida, the class sizes are roughly 25 kids per class and 4-5 classes per grade level in elementary school. The middle schools are a little bigger. The high schools have between 350 and 500 per grade level, per school. The area where I am has over 25 high schools in the county. and still building more. I guess it is a culture shock for me because it is so populated here vs. where you are. Anyway, enough babbling. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Andrew and family, as well as those reading this. Hello Andrew, I am watching your video with a daylight lamp in front of me and knitting on a sock. It used to belong to my father, but I now use it on these dark days. We haven't seen the sun in the Netherlands for a long time either. After next week the days will fortunately get a bit longer, I can comfort myself with that. Oh no...really feel for you if you're in Crosshouse! I was brought up in Dreghorn just down the road. On one hand Crosshouse Hosp has negative associations for my due to loss of loved ones, but when I've been in there recently it just feels like it's really gone down hill over the years. Really hope you're getting good care and will soon be better! Keep knitting!
@albanachknitter I lost my Mum last year, my partner six years ago, it's the first time I have been an in patient and I hope it's the last. Was in the high decency unit for a week and got home, five days later I nearly collapsed in the street. Back to hdu for five days then down to 3b. Got to get my blood levels right before I go home.
Fantastic! What are we singing tonight and which versions? When I was growing up, my mother was the chapel organist at the local military base, so we usually had 3 protestant denominations and the catholic service every week. Then, at Christmas, there were the church activities and the community activities, which finally wound down at the midnight mass on Christmas eve/day. It was a whirlwind of activity between halloween and New Years, so we were just recovering by the time Mardi Gras came around. Stay safe, rest and recover, enjoy the family coming back together.
Andrew has anyone ever recommended the full spectrum light that you could sit under daily? It can be a blessing to help with the darkness issues. I understand!
