Love doing the ladder back jacquard! So glad that you are promoting it.
I am so glad you enjoy it! It is such a valuable technique for successful colorwork. And so often overcomplicated! Thanks for watching

Kudos (once again) for your outstanding color choices on the Holly Sweater.
Thanks so much! Glad you like the color combo! I think with a black background, it will be far easier for me to wear. ❤
Thank you Beth for another wonderful podcast … getting to see where you live was such a treat. You definitely live in a beautiful place! Merry Christmas and happy knitting!

Hi Beth, thank you for the video and take me to the scenic tour to Hamilton. Wish you a cosy Christmas 🎄hi from Switzerland ❄️
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed the tour and hope you have a wonderful Christmas in Switzerland!
Happy holidays dear Beth. I am so grateful to have met you here in our internet world this year and to have made a frienxship I hope will Last for years to come. I can’t wait to meet you in person some day. Maybe you will make it to Flock in Seattle this next year? Let me know.
If you do u could maybe spend a day or 2 here in portland ?
happy holidays and a big hug from Portland, OR. 😘🥰💖🎄🎅🏼
Yes lovely to meet you too Taci and I do so enjoy our chats online. Would love to meet you in person one day too. Maybe Flock next year but it is VERY far for me and I think in the summer which is tricky. At least for now but I know that will soon change as our son will be starting university in September and will be doing his own thing in summers to come. So stay tuned! :) I'd love to come your way and do some exploring. I will of couse keep you posted. And please do the same if you are heading to any of the East Coast events. Thanks Taci & have a very wonderful Holiday time with your family. ❤❄❤❄
Love the scenic tour. Have you ever thought about hosting a knitting retreat? Knitting both your lovely pattern in Sprinkled Fibers right now and the Woolens and Nosh advent as well. Great December knitting!
Glad you enjoyed. I did look into it but the prices in Bermuda are very high and so when I proposed it all to the group it just didn't fly. Because we are such an isolated island all pricing is steep especially accommodations, food, flights etc. It would be rather tricky but I do continue to keep my nose to the ground on how to make it work. Thanks for watching!
The Bermudiana is gorgeous. It was lovely to see you again. Have a wonderful holiday season. It’s a very cold few days here in Winnipeg and perfect for knitting
Oooh I'll bet! I've been in Winnipeg in the winter and wow was it cold and windy too!!! Stay warm and cozy indoors and enjoy loads of knitting. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Beth, I love your aesthetic! I’ve made two sweaters with Diele. Because of its elasticity I have found it holds its shape. I wet blocked both and they are fine. But follow your intuition! You have more experience than I!
Thank you! The steam blocking seams to have worked but of course it will have to get washed at some point. Thanks so much!
Gorgeous sweater!!
Thank you!
Great podcast. I’ve been wanting to try ladder back jacquard. Thank you for the link. Hopefully this one will stick. Happy Holidays.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode and I hope the ladder back jacquard goes well for you!
Love your Bermudiana design and your podcast, per usual. Happy holidays to you and yours.
Thank you & happy holidays to you too!
I can’t wait to see your new pattern. Ladder back jacquard seemed complicated. I would love to see the tutorial that you used. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you! I've just added the link in the description
@ thank you!
@@bethmacdonaldstonethe tutorial is so easy. I thought it would be harder. Maybe it’s because of the fancy name.
@ I know!!! Exactly! Every other tutorial totally over complicated a fairly easy technique. It’s amazing!
Thank you for your video. Loved seeing Hamilton. I am going to give the ladder back jacquard a go on my summer Lee socks. Have a lovely Christmas break.
Glad you enjoyed the tour of Hamilton! I hope the ladder back jacquard goes well for you! Happy Holidays!
I also have the little hump on my upper back because of my posture, which is why I love your patterns so much! I can relate!
I dont think it's terribly uncommon but I am super conscious of mine and so work hard to not highlight it. I am always trying to perfect the short row placement and numbers - I think it's a fine art! Thanks so much!
Such an inspiring episode for new year cast-ons. I love the new Bermudiana - beautiful flower design. I’m intrigued by ladder back Jacquard - it’s one of those techniques I keep hearing about - so time to try it! Happy Holidays.
It really is a game changer. I think you'll love it! I've added the link to a great tutorial in the description if that helps.
Happy Holidays!
I struggled with the sock cuff too. I will watch the tutorial and try it on next month’s cuff if there are long floats.
Good luck! I hope that helps!
Fabulous tour of bermuda. Thank you frm nz.. xxoo ps yr knitting is as always FABULOUS 😊😊😊😊
Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed the tour!
I did enjoy seeing Bermudan I didn’t realise it was a British territory. Such a long way from Australia
Yes a bit of a distance from Australia! Glad you enjoyed the little sightseeing drive. Thanks for watching ❤
Bermudiana is beautiful!
It really is. Thanks for watching! ❤
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I have never done ladder back jacquard. I am about to cast on the December Colorwork cuff and would like to attempt it. Which TH-cam demo do you reccomend?
Super! I've just added the demo link in the description. Hope it helps!
I love all your c work. Super Tallent Beth
It is inspiring to see your commitment to knitters who make their wardrobes. I'm starting to like a drop. Should we use RS as well? I always felt like they were too sloppy and made me look frumpy. But as an older woman. Geez, I wouldn't say I like saying that. We get bellies. Ta boxy shirt is better to help allow us to feel comfortable.
How long have you lived in Bermuda? It looks so beautiful there. Also, are the flowers on the holiday sweater embroidery or bubbles?
Thank you so much! Yes I have generally found drop shoulder sweaters to be sloppy too. I am finding ways around that in the construction and am really enjoying the process.
As for Bermuda, I'm Bermudian. Grew up in Toronto but always had summer jobs here and have lived here full time since finishing my education. My entire Mother's side of the family is from here and have been on the island for generations
Forgot to say that the berries on the Holly Sweater are bobbles but I was thinking you could use beads just as well and of course embroidery would work well too.
@@bethmacdonaldstone Thanks so much.
I too would love to obtain the link to the ladderback jacquard, If you don't mind 😊
I just added it to the show notes. Hope it helps!
@bethmacdonaldstone thanks so much ❤️
What do you consider chilly.
It gets in the high 50's & 60's here but VERY damp (humidity is easily 85%+) so its damp cold and it tends to be colder in our houses as they are made of stone and not insulated/heated. It's not snowy cold where you go inside to warm up. It's damp cold where you go outside to stand in the sun to warm up. Quite unique!
