At this point in time Dave has to be the "Mixer Master"!! You two together always make it look easy!! Good job with the video edit also. Stay safe out there!!
It’s always nice to see someone proud of their work. A little back patting is important when you know what you are doing, and you do it so well!👍. It easy to see your dad instilled your work MO from day one… protect the customer and they will be one for life!😁👍 Happy Holidays to all at Pepe’s Towing!!🎉☃️🎊
been in the buisness for 57 yrs saw were u hooked first and said to my self o hes gonna wreck a fixable truck . good catch who ever on seen.. good work
Nice video. I really enjoy watching your recoveries. Having done light and medium duty towing and recoveries over 30 years ago, I really appreciate the professionalism you guys show along with your nice equipment. While your videos are only a few minutes long, I know it takes hours when you're on scene. Would you mind listing in your video descriptions how long your recoveries take? That would be really interesting to know.
This one reminds me of an experience I had many years ago. . I was a engineering tech at the time. A similar Mixer truck had broken down as it reached the Jobsite. The drive on the drum failed so it was not possible to empty the load. Concrete starts hardening about 90 minutes after it is mixed- so must be emplaced in that time frame. The load set up in the truck. Turned out the problem was caused by the driver's carelessness. His boss made him spend two weeks inside the drum with a jack hammer chipping the concrete out. Fortunately it was a 2000 PSI mix or it would have been a lot longer to clear out.😅 The driver was nicknamed chipper after that.
When I was in Nevada I saw a mixer truck upside down in a creek in the Carlin gold mining area. A couple weeks later they dragged the barrel a mile or so with a big Cat and buried it.
Stumbled across your Channel - You guys do amazing work and amazing videos!! - I drove a Knuckle Boom Truck for a building materials company for quite a few years (retired) - NOTHING like what you guys do - nevertheless , have some experience with Booms/slings/rigging etc, - Really enjoy your channel you guys deal with some crazy shit! - 👍 and do an amazing job!
Good job, looks like a new drum and back to work maybe . Never rolled one, in the 30 yrs I drove them, BUT, some really scary BS though!! Worse scare was when a torque rod broke between the 2 rear axles, with 10 yds on, on a Hendrix suspension, total weight of a truck like this with 10 on is approaching 85,000+ and took 2 tires out, in front of the Rams Dome In St Louis Mo, coming off the highway , had both steering shock cyls break off on the boost a load axle happen one day to, with 10 yds on, coming down a big hill with a stop light at the bottom, was REALLY hairy, hit the up switch on axle and got it raised just in the nick of time, everytime you hit the brakes it would swing the rear of the truck from side to side, about 3 ft!! Not to mention dropping in a sinkhole or ditch and have BOTH rear axles on one side off the ground 1 or 2 ft!! Driving one of these things can be a hairy ride, and YOU BETTER know what you are doing, just a split secound, or NOT paying attention to frames, tires, and weird noises like bolts breaking or suspension parts, speeds turning, and NO rapid turns can get you killed or someone else.
One thing i noticed when it was on it's side, it has never been washed since it was new. That truck was a mess Before the rollover. The most TLC it's ever had was when you guys picked it up and set it on it's wheels, nice work.
Would be interesting to see how the tow truck daily/weekly/monthly maintenance is done and everything it includes to keep those machines up and running.
Hi guys I be watching you videos for a while now I have to said your guys r the best of the best thanks for what you’re doing and please be safe out there from Chicago il
Thoughly great video. If you hadn't mentioned the blurring, I don't think I would have noticed. The coordination between you and Dave made this like a ballet as it came over. Thanks, as always.
I live next to a cement yard. Those drivers are careless and scare the crap out of me. I’m surprised I don’t see these wrecks more often as these guys drive down the road looking at their paperwork instead of the road.
I work inland cement calgary alberta 1988 i got phone call shop a brand new mack rd semi roll on curve on busy freeway near plant downtown.same what you did i was hell mess mack write off yup.the trailer send frame shop for repair.we keep trucks for spare parts due new save lots money.yes pick mixer is very tricky thing move.thanks video help expose work done.😊
Was that mixer company one of your regular customers? Seems I just saw a video a while back where in one scene one of your trucks went by towing a mixer. Anyway-great job--those things are really top heavy.
This is my wife's channel......so this will be my last comment...... Flawless....like having a perfectly cooked brisket and ice cold beer.....with a lil redbud on the side.....just Perfection...made my day.
Another great video Josh! You guys always work good together. Must be a plus to have great equipment, your knowledge is awesome man! Just a simple question. Why is there so many bad wrecks in your area LA ? Kinda seems crazy. Is there also regular car accidents? I towed for years when I was in Georgia, the company had a contract with AAA.
I never couid understand how a high center of gravity on a bearing that is above the weight of the load that is liquid and rotating could stay upright at all😵💫
Wife and I ran the 710 yesterday and I commented to her, “See all the containers? No wonder Pepe’s is always uprighting containers!” Not kidding, they were a steady stream both directions all the way from the 405 to the 10! And I know the 605 is almost as bad and the 110 has them too. Everything Josh says about the traffic here is true!
The worst part of these rollovers is if you don't get them up fast enough the concrete sets up in the drum and it costs more to get the concrete out that the tow work.
@@PepesTowingService i mean on large pours or large well known. companies (you covering the name makes me think its larger) will have trucks circling from the plant to the job on the same route. but i was more just joking pointing out that coincidence
@johnnyrebel11 Aghh got it. For what’s it worth in La, there is permanent construction. Esp on the 118, you can pull over and every 60 seconds see a new mixer from a different company. Between all the big guys and then owner ops they’re non stop
@PepesTowingService He probably means that style of cement truck or that particular size truck. In Wisconsin, you can see that style truck, front discharge mixers, and smaller capacity trucks.
@@PepesTowingService The 9, 11 and 14 yard trucks are common here and certain municipalities have restrictions on trucks over 7 yards due to either soil conditions below the road bed, or due to aging infrastructure under the roads. Our neighboring state of Minnesota has size restrictions on dump trucks. Quad axle dumps are illegal there. A few years back a plow contractor had to go to Minneapolis to obtain road salt and their State Patrol stopped him for being oversized. He had to drive all the way back to Milwaukee to get his smaller 3 axle, returned to Minnesota and he could only leave half filled because of their weight restrictions.
The “class” that you and your company have is so unheard of anymore. The time you took to protect the name of the mixer company !!! Well done guys !!
Makes my time spent editing worth it, thanks!
Amen Class Act
Love watching you and Dave work together, it’s like you share the same brain….
They are joined at the ears.....

And nachos, all 3 of them eating nachos would be comical
Mr Josh You made that look so easy with the correct knowledge and equipment. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

A lot of unspoken yet very effective communication.

A co-worker of mine had a previous career climbing inside rolled over mixers and placing and setting off charges to break up the cement.
Can’t say I blame the boss but man that sounds horrible lol

Do you need to worry about the cement left inside that is hardened and the load may be off center ?

Nice job! That mixer will be back in action before you know it
Still a lot of set up cement to remove. A difficult, noisy and hard job.
great job as usual

Too the Batcave Robin 😊
Great job how much weight didn't all that weight stay on one side
If you ever have to mitigate a concrete spill, sugar will slow/stop the setup process, making it less painful to clean up.
Another awesome performance 🤓🙋♂️👍 , watching in ohio
Is it raining there like it is here?
We've got a snow sleet mixture right now , we get alot of lake Erie effect cheers stay safe , i really enjoy your videos ❤🤓🙋♂️👍

how many heavy big rigs do u guys have in ur fleet?
I wanted to ask how did UNIT 21 / THE BEAST the tri-axle semi with a Detachable Towing Unit its nickname?
I just wanna know what is going on for all these trucks to need your service

Pepe why so many rollovers in La you are good at your job
Just laws of probability with how populated we are

How the heck do you roll a loaded mixer on a straight, flat, dry freeway?
The worst part of these rollovers is if you don't get them up fast enough the concrete sets up in the drum and it costs more to get the concrete out that the tow work.
What was it you had to blur out on the left side?

What’s a good camera for my car
That was fun 😊 thanks 👍👍🙏😊
Is that the 210 freeway?
Impressive
Dave!
it says "to protect the companys name please dony spoil it" as another concrete truck drives by. lol
What does that have to do with this one? Your comment implies they’re from the same company which is really weird logic ?
@@PepesTowingService Well.... you know that California is a small state and LA is just tiny. Can't be too many concrete companies there, right?

How do people flip over on straight roads
Hi from Fargo Nd
Perfect job... What else can you say or comment....
The cement hard they got it Peace out
Are you Associated with that concrete?
Clever 😂
The shackles switching colors at 12:01 is really messing with my brain.
How these people keep flipping over
❤
im nut is the location palm springs it seems familiar lol
I'd hate to be the one stuck behind in the traffic mess when you're dicking around w youtube content.......
Looks so easy. Cleaning up that cement…..not.

In Idaho these are outlawed.
Mixers are not allowed in the state of Idaho? Interesting so how do you build virtually anything with no concrete or cement?

He probably means that style of cement truck or that particular size truck. In Wisconsin, you can see that style truck, front discharge mixers, and smaller capacity trucks.
@jsh6952 odd, because these are just 9yd mixer bowls and not crazy like a 14yd style
